To educate the non-football savvy ladies on this here site about the "cheating scandal" aka "Spygate":
The Patriots had a videographer removed during the first half of the first game of the season against the Jets. The Jets head coach, Eric Mangini, was previously the defensive coordinator for the Patriots under head coach, Bill Belichick. After becoming conference rivals, the two coaches had a notorious and bitter falling out.
The video from the game showed the defensive signals being called from the Jets sidelines in comparison with what was going on in the game (i.e., down, time, etc.). The NFL investigated the matter, confiscated and reviewed all of the Patriots video collection, and fined them for recording defensive signals, which are visible to anyone watching, though a violation to record. Offensive plays are not called by the sidelines in this same manner. The quarterback has an audio piece in his helmet, and plays are orally fed into the huddle.
For the comment that the Patriots should have been kicked out OF THE LEAGUE(?) for cheating, the "scandal" after the first game was supposedly wrapped up by the league because there was evidence of other teams cheating. The league did not want to open pandora's box, exposing serious flaws in the NFL as a whole. To add to the fire, several former coaches (including at least one superbowl-winning coach, former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson) have said they recorded signals when dicussing the situation. Everyone did it.
I'm glad that the issue came out in the open so that it doesn't continue to happen by any team. Game footage is the main component of in-game adjustments, as we as pre-game preparation. The NFL showed that they are serious about their guidelines into what can and cannot be part of that footage. They made their point with the Patriots.
The Patriots organization and their head coach, personally, paid large fines - which is how the league deals with most problems. They also had their first-round draft pick taken away. Game suspensions for individual players and coaches are usually only given for physical or drug-related violations. There has never been nor will there likely be a situation where a team as a whole is disciplined in a way such as being unable to play in the playoffs.
Both teams deserve to be in this game. The Patriots continued on to a history-making 16-0 season. Their veteran players' work ethic, team mentality, and game-by-game approach has become the model for success. On teh other side of the ball, the Giants overcame many personal and leadership issues of the past seasons to peak in the post-season as underdogs with confidence, physicality and mental toughness.
It should be a great game!

And Kellylicious, you pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. For all you Patriots haters out there, don't think your own team is innocent when it comes to video-taping from the end zones. It's a well known fact that all the teams do it, so get off of your high horses. Acknowledge the fact that the Patriots have had a great season, because that's something that just can't be denied.

Omg, I love that ad! "Hey to you.."lol. And Andy's part was a nice surprise. Go Patriots!!!! I so want them to win, to have a perfect season is just amazing. And ya they did cheat on that one game however no way could they cheat on 19 games, the plays get changed all the time, all the way up to the last minute. So even if they did get info about a rivals play, 95% chance it would be different in the end rather than be the same. So as much as I like Eli, I want to see history happen and the Pats have been unstoppable.
