For the second time this week, there was a dramatic scene at Britney's house. After not sleeping at all Tuesday night, Britney spent her Wednesday around LA with her entourage, dining with Adnan and fighting publicly with Sam. From there, the details are fuzzy, but things went downhill. What we know is that there are cops and helicopters at her house right now along with more photographers than usual. According to TMZ, rumors of a suicide attempt are untrue, but there is a psychiatrist at the house along with Lynne, Adnan, Sam and Alli who are fighting and trying once again to have Britney temporarily put under psychiatric care. Britney herself is said to be "out of it" and "unresponsive." We'll keep you updated as the story develops.
Update: Apparently it was Brit's psychiatrist who called the cops to help deal with the situation. Ambulances arrived on the scene and she is on her way to the hospital right now. Once again, she is there on a 5150 hold, meaning she has been deemed a danger to herself or others.
Update #2: According to TMZ, tonight was intricately planned out including clearing airspace as they transport Britney to the hospital. Britney was apparently not resistant to going, and we can only imagine how out of it she was after days without sleep. Tensions sound high among Sam, Lynne and Adnan. During this 72 hour stay she can't be forced to take medication, but supposedly the plan is for her Dr. to go to court and request that she be kept an additional 14 days to be treated.

Right, TMZ is reporting she is being temporarily committed. This has been a long time coming. But still, I don't think she has hit rock bottom yet.
1As much as she frustrates me I really do hope she gets help - Just like last time I hope this will be a turning point for her, but I just don't know if it is.
2UUUUgggg! This is like watching a train wreck.
3As much as I have failed to sympathize with her in the past, this is all getting so heartbreaking. It's gone past the selfish attitude and what not, and I'm thinking I'm not alone in just wanting to hug her. Whether the hole she's in was mostly dug by herself or not, once you're in it it's still hard as hell. She needs a long break. Hope she gets some help and emerges stronger for all of this instead of breaking completely. So sad.
4i hope she gets the help she needs, but i'm skeptical. we'll see
5Such a deja-vu. And I don't think at all that this is sad, it's tragic, yes, but not sad. It's sad when people who want to get better don't get a chance. She had too many chances to know how to appreciate them.
She'll be probably out by Saturday and at Ralph's on Sunday. I'm tired of giving this person any credit, first I want to see it, then there's still enough time to empathize.
6Britney Spears and no end. *sighs* I doubt, she will change much of her life now. She already had so many chances... Anyway, there's still hope she gets the help she needs, and that it'll work out, and then she should take a nice, long break from LA and her paparazzi "friends".
I've heard Louisiana is a nice state...
7I also don't think is sad...I think is DAMN ABOUT TIME! If only her mother wouldn't sell the whole story once Sh*tney "comes back"...
DOWN WITH SH*TNEY!!!
8I hope that the psychiatrist in question has enough legal pull to keep Britney in care for longer than a day this time. She is in serious need of very intensive care to get her moods under control and teach her how to manage her illness.
There are psychiatric care facilities in California that are like resorts. Beautiful, private grounds, plenty of recreational options, it's like a resort where people make sure you take your medication and go to therapy. A few months in a facility like that would do her a world of good.
Then again, Britney has to WANT to get better. So far, she's shown absolutely NO sign that she does...
9Epicurean, I agree. Actually, I fear that Britney doesn't has a rock bottom. It's not like she's a normal person who has bipolar disorder in that she has a large income that can't be taken from her. Frankly, if loosing your kids doesn't do it for you, then I don't know what will.
10This girl needs to stay in there and try and sort herself out...sadly I don't exactly see a happy ending for her!
11I work in the medical field, and I have known people who have had the 14-day court ordered therapy.. it's a pretty common thing, and I think the hardest part is getting a doctor who thinks it's necessary enough to order it. I don't think they hardly ever get turned down by judges once requested.. so I'm guessing if it's asked for, she's got at least 14 days of help ahead of her.. guess they'll reevaluate at that point.
12I'll be glad when she's got this under control. If she is bipolar - it is a bear to get under control. When she's manic she's better than on top of the world and when she crashes the world is out to get her then it turns again and she may not even remember a darn thing. My sister-in-law cannot remember about 4 years of her mid-twenties. It's all a blur of tears and excitement and sex and things she doesn't want to remember.
As far as I can remember from going to the psych hospital with my sister in law there is no 'rock bottom' for bi-polar people. If that what she has she's gotta deal with this disease for the rest of her life.
13Yes, Pop, I think you put she was going to Cedars-Senai but she is actually going to UCLA medical center. Again, nothing is confirmed yet. I'm kinda weirded out that this happened the same day as JT's birthday.
14Hopefully things get worked out. Sam, Adnan, and even Lynne all seem to be pretty shady people!
I hope she gets help if she truly has a treatable condition, because nobody could live long at the pace she has been going. It seems like something that will need more than 14 days to get under control. She's skipped out on all previous attempts, so it's hard to be optimistic that this commitment will be with winning one.
15The situation is tragic and sad...
16I really hope this time she'll stay at the hospital and get the help she needs!!
So this is the creative intervention plan? Cause a lot of attention so she'll go willingly?
17Yeah, because last time there wasn't attention. They told her she is going and she hasn't slept since Saturday and went. She was probably beyond out of it. There was not nearly the chaos or attention as last time. The paps didn't even get a shot of her at all, or anything. Just the ambulance going away. I hope this works out. Her doctor seems to be in on it this time. That should help the situation.
18Bet Clooney is ticked off! Supposedly a caravan of 50 police cars and a police helicopter were involved. Thats a lot of tax dollars at work.
There is a newish site that sounds like they are trying to present more honest coverage than X17, called jfxonline.com. They have a lot of details and pictures, since one of their photographers was in the fray all day.
Would be nice if she could get care in peace, without people trying to take photos or leak info.
19Not just that. They worked with the FFA to clear air space. Sounds like a grand operation. Though everyone should know Britney is money for LA. That report mentioned she makes 300 million a year for the pap and gossip mag economy?
I think people who expect her to WANT to get help don't understand what she is going through. TMZ has also said the drugs she has been taking are simply not working. She is working with doctors. It's just she needs more.
20I was trying to figure out what they cleared airspace for. The police helicopters? I don't think they need specific FAA clearance, because that would really slow down their work. Did they make it an off limits zone to keep away news copters?
People from her neighborhood have posted on blogs before about what a nightmare it is to live in the area because of all the paparazzi hanging around the outside streets and Brit speeding up and down a dozen times a day, news copters, etc. Must be a pain for families with the noise and unsafe traffic.
21poor britney i truly feel for her, I think she is definately in distress and in need of care. she sounds like she could bipolar to me, the inability to sleep could be a manic episode. Having a mental illness would not be helped at all by being followed around 24/7 by paparazzi and the 'friends' who exploit her fame and fortune for personal gain.
22FINALLY someone is doing something and getting her into treatment. I'm glad her therapist is taking her illness seriously and working to get her an extra 14 days of care. All I want to know now is if the application is successful, and then she needs to be left alone. I refuse to read anything more about her after that.
23I'm telling you guys, her rock bottom is death!
At least she's getting help. Hopefully she'll stay in longer. 14 days is better than nothing right now. I think she needs about 14 years.
24I really pity her. I hope she doesn't commit suicide, honestly.
25she's so good musically it'd be a great pity.
Ugh, it must kill her mom having to ride with slime like Adnan who is just going to sell the story of his affair with Britney as soon as he gets a chance. I'm sure she's just doing whatever she has to do to get close enough to her daughter to get her help. Lets hope the hospital doesn't get impressed by her celebrity again and let her out early!
26You said it mello. This is not drugs there is no "I want to get help" I working in the mental health field for a long time and a lot of people are embarrassed by the stigma attached and some people just like it.
We had a twenty something guy who had schzophrenia but liked his voices. They had been with him so long he thought there was nothing wrong with him. It's especially hard for those who have lived on there own and functioned when the disease reaches a point where they can no longer take care of themselves they dont get it b/c they remember that they were on their own.
If this was drugs and alcohol of course I would not feel sorry for her but this is a disease something she cannot control, as much as she might want to. Mental illness is so tricky. How people can be so callous amazes me, which again, the stigma people attach is part of the problem
27i agree her rock bottom is death.
28why don't more celebrities go completely crazy? they have these crazy paparazzi following them around calling their names and everyone telling them they're the most important person in the world..
29Adnan might be less slimey than Sam. TMZ says Sam planned this whole thing with her doctor and had Britney sign papers giving him power to make her medical decisions, and not her parents. That doesn't sound like a good idea. Supposedly lawyers have been called to sort it out.
At least with Adnan you always knew he was going to sell photos because that's what he does. I think that would be better than so-called friends/managers who sell every detail of your life behind your back. Jow is it that TMZ and other sites have conversations that allegedly went on in the house and hospital halls within the last few hours? Someone's been talking/selling.
30well she's back to being number one again on people, mission accomplished.
31Sorry to say it, but Sam Lufti reminds me of the woma who killed Serena. Where did he even come from? These celebs need to realize that you can't let random people get so close to you. I can totally see him getting obsessed and hurting her or her kids. Hopefully her parents will be successful in getting him the hell away from her!

33Some people are fragile and I believe Britney is one of those people.Mental breakdowns after children or bipolar manic disorder it could be a duel diagnosis. No matter what, I hope they can get her the help she deserves no one deserves to be in this much pain. Many wishes that she doesn't end up like Marilyn Monroe ,Anna Nicole or Francis Farmer.I hope for the best and will be praying for her!
34I feel so sorry for this woman. She is truly in need of psychiatric help. There is no "rock bottom" with something like this. That is one thing people do not understand. They just say she is terrible, an awful mother, and "needs to go to rehab". This isn't something rehab can fix. She needs long term psychiatric care and monitoring until she is able to monitor herself. I feel for those boys. They must miss their mother so much. They are where they should be, of course, but it must be so hard. And I think Brit truly loves her children, she just needs to get better so she can be with them again.
Has anyone entertained the possibility that the bi polar started with PPD??? Maybe it could have triggered something after being pregnant and having 2 babies in 2 years? Personally, I think it could have. What we should all try to understand is this woman has a real disease and should be given some slack here. She did not ask to be bipolar. It takes a lot for some people who are bipolar to come to terms with it and get help and some never do. Or they get help and start feeling better and think they can go off meds. Its a lifelong thing to deal with. What makes it worse is she is in the public eye.
35First - she has to take her medications as directed. Too many people with mental illnesses only take the meds until they feel better.
Second - She has to stop drinking, combining booze and taking medication DOES NOT mix.
Third - She needs to stop acting like such a spoiled brat! She needs to listen to her psychiatrist.
This is why she will not get better, she cannot do any of the above because she is too immature. Watch out for that pink wig, she was wearing it last night! I notice she is in a manic state when she wears that wig.
36Lynne's visit was an indication that something was going to happen.
37Well, I guess she found a way to get the public to sympathize with her. The American public likes a comeback story and they DESPERATELY want to believe she is "mentally ill" and this will allow her her break to do that. Lynne is totally in charge of it. I hope they can keep her there for a long time (although what in the WORLD will POP post!? Oh I know! Rachel Bilson crap.)
38i guess they went through with the whole intervention thing. i hope that for brit's sake that it's something good for her. really - it's hard to be in the spotlight like she is - even if she's not perfect and with all the additional weight that she bears from people who use her - well it's got to be hard. i just hope that she's kept longer to get on meds - and hopefully she'll take them and not party her life away and forget about them.
39how many times are we going to see this same situation? really what's the difference between last time? Britney will stay in hospital as required then she'll be back to the same old crap. sorry to be so harsh but I already have felt bad enough for her in the past year or so with all her craziness. she was in rehab for so long and that didn't help, i'm beginning to feel like she's a lost cause - feel sorry for her boys.
40i go to sleep for a few hours and all heck breaks loose.
41Mentally ill...don't say it, AND with a doctor's order.......I guess I was right thinking she could really be mentally ill and that ordering her to pay for full attorney's fees on both sides is taking advantage of a mentally unstable person in that she wasn't in her right mind not showing up for court ect.... I hope she gets the treatment she needs and while she's on the road to recovery she gets rid of all the people who were negative in her life.
42Someone just make it stop already.
43Can she not go a day without being on the front page? Maybe if she STAYS and actually TAKES the meds, she has a chance in hell of getting better. I doubt she'll last more than last time.
44Regardless of her mental state, it's still very standard for a wealthier parent to pay the legal expenses in a custody battle. That's not taking advantage of anyone's condition, it's the simple math of who can afford to pay so that both parents have an equal chance of representation. It's a valid request.
45When I heard about it this morning I cried a little. I hope this does not come to the end everyone is predicting. It is already so sad and twisted and just keeps getting worse and worse before our eyes. Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib scare the crap out of me. Her parents seem kind of weak, but I think they are doing the best they can under incredibly difficult and bizarre circumstances. I will say a prayer for her. As badly as she has acted, I really do believe she's just extremely mentally ill, with some serious personality disorders in the mix and can get better if she loses the enablers and bad influences in her life. It's going to be a major uphill battle.
46I hope this sticks ... and I hope BRITNEY realizes she needs serious help.
47I have a friend that is bipolar. As long as she takes her meds she is great. Throughout her 20s she refused to take her meds and routinely tried to kill herself or ended up living on the streets because she did not remember that she had a bank account and apartment. If Brit is bipolar she has to get it through her mind that she NEEDS to take her meds, as much as she may not want to be controlled by them. Otherwise she's a goner.
48So heartbreaking. So terribly heartbreaking...
49Yikes!
I cant imagine how freaked out I would be if this was my daughter or sister or friend.
Totally scary.
