Jay-Z may be at the top of his game right now after coming out of retirement and scoring big with his latest album, but that doesn't mean he can't take on more. He is the guy that said, "I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man." This time he's teamed up with GM to hip up the brand a bit. He was on hand with a bunch of other celebs like Carmen Electra, Nick Lachey, and Kristin Bell at a party thrown by the car corporation to show off their new inventory. Here's more:
Jay-Z and General Motors are teaming up to bring a stylish hue to a rugged sport utility vehicle. The music mogul emerged from a concept GMC Yukon Denali SUV on stage Saturday during a celebrity-filled party thrown by General Motors Corp. on the eve of media previews for the North American International Auto Show.
Painted "Jay-Z Blue," the SUV was developed through a partnership with the rapper during the past two years. Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, worked with the company's global color studio to create the reflective blue color for the SUV.
"Hopefully I'll be able to drive one of them out of here tonight," he said.

So what, they can afford Jay-Z, but they can't afford their own employees? They can pay celebrities untold millions, but they're going to lay off their entire call center and outsource it to Argentina? Bite me, GM.

3I totally agree colormesticky! Isnt it amazing what some of these corporations do to the "little people" They retire there CEOs with Multi million dollar retirements - then turn around and lay of thousands of hard working familys. It doesnt pay to be born on the "poorer" side of the tracks! ( and whats sad now a days the middle class is now the poorer side...)

5A celeb endorsement doesn't affect my decision to buy a car. It's not soda, tennis shoes or a CD. When will car companies learn that.
Gee. I know this has terrible gas mileage, but since Jay-Z and Nick Lachey promote it while driving far better cars, I'll buy! Who's the marketing director for GM. He (because I don't think a woman would make such a poor decision) should be slapped.
6Hiring Jay-Z isn't going to make GM enough money to save any jobs. Not that they're interested in it anyway, since they can pay pennies in another country. As soon as the call center in Argentina is running smoothly the people here are getting the boot. Kills me. So does paying in pennies.
7Oh I torally agree with you guys. The price of the ride will skyrocket because Jay-Z's name and face is attached but who's going to benefit? Not the lower level employess. Not poor people in the hood, that's who they're trying to sell them to.
By the way, Vivica Fox looks like a total tranny...LOL
