America Ferrera stopped by TRL to promote Ugly Betty. We love the t-shirt she was wearing. Most people get all dolled up in their trendiest look to appear on TRL but not America. She wants to remind people to Be Ugly. America is having a ball playing the fashion challenged, but sweet-hearted Betty. And while she doesn't get noticed much without her costume on, she does have a blast playing Betty in real life too. Here's more:
"People give me looks and think, 'Do I know you from high school?' They don't know exactly where to place me but they recognize me," she said. "But I went to vote with my glasses and braces at my lunch break and they're like, 'Oh, my God, ugly Betty is voting.' That created a little stir."
Ferrera was pleased to see her character become a popular costume on Halloween.
"That was really fun to see little girls and old men dressing up as 'ugly Betty,'" she said.
It's obvious that she's not the only one who likes to play Betty. Who knew that being ugly would ever be so fashionable? For more pics just read more

18I like her alot too and agree she is a great role model I just hope she doesnt follow the same trend as many smaller stars who become more and more famous do by becoming smaller and become obsessed with being small...I don't think she will though, I think she will continue to promote that you don't have to be a size 0 to be beautiful.

24LOVE the show. She did lose a ton of weight, I like her but hope she doesn't become a lohan etc. When she did "real women have curves" she gave a lot of lip to it being ok to be a size 14, she is down to like a size 8 now and everytime I see her she is smaller. Welcome to Hollywood.
PS-- I am not saying it is Ok to be overweight as it is not healthy in the long run, but stick to a message. It reminds me of Ashlee S when she said she would never change a thing about herself (or something close to that -- don't quote me) and next thing you know she has a nose job and plump limps.

33she's lost weight, that's the first thing i thought when i saw these pics. but you know what, as long as she's healthy, i don't care. it's unhealthy to be fat, and it's unhealthy to be super skinny. as long as she's eating right and exercising regularly without going overboard, i say good for her!

48Thank Goodness!! I've seen other photos of her sans the braces & here she lookes quite adorable!!! It's amazing what a bad wig & blue braces will do. The show last night where Amanda was uglied up was insane!!!
49I'd really like to know how you people can judge her "health" by her weight? Just because someone loses weight that is not an indication of their health. Many women have "lost weight" and dropped dead because of it. In life there is this sick little game that we all know. To play by the rules you lose as much weight as possible & say "it's for my health." It's actually for some sick head game that certain people thrust on others.
