i think that he does well with his children - i just wish that he and reese could have made it work. it's hard becuase you see him around with the girl that he 'cheated' on reese with - and she looks nice enough - but it just makes the whole situation sour.

Huh? He cheated on his ex-wife? I didn't know about that, but as long as they're great co-parents, it's good.

he may have been a jerk to reese, but atleast he has his act together and is a great dad to his kids. it unfortunate that he and reese are not together anymore, but they are (or so it seems) really making it work in terms of their kids.

pop, i take issue with this statement - "almost makes us forget what a jerk Ryan can be" for the simple fact that this SCREAMS double standard. i assume that ryan is/can be a jerk because of his supposed affair with abbie cornish. if you or anyone else know of other reasons why he would be considered a jerk, please inform. otherwise, just because ryan is not brad pitt, and abbie cornish is not angelina jolie, does not make it so that ryan and abbie had "an affair" on their movie set, while brad and angelina had a "friendship" on theirs.

with these two couples, i feel that you if you believe one thing about one couple, shouldn't you feel similarly about the other? i mean, the arguments you use to defend angelina and brad should just as well be used to defend ryan and abbie against their affair rumors. actually, the way brad and angelina's relationship sped forward lightspeed after jen filed for divorce, i would assume that more people would suspect an affair going on there. this abby/ryan thing seems kind of weak and i don't even know the timetable for their relationship - are they in one now? when did it officially begin? honestly, i haven't been keeping up but i've read enough to know (but really, how much do we REALLY know about anything that happens in Hollywood) that any evidence of cheating wasn't powerful.

anyway, what is good for one should be good for the other. i have never read popsugar be less than glowing about brad pitt, and he has definitely never been called a jerk. so perhaps be equally generous with reese's ex? (disclaimer: i'm not a fan of ryan by any means.) isn't that fair enough?

Ryan may or may not have left Reese for another woman, or he left her then met another woman or he cheated got caught and she left him.

I don't think we'll ever know because they both have too much class to discuss it publically. All Ryan ever said about the divorce was that it was difficult and he was devestated about the impact it had on his children and he was crying/vomiting about it. Reese said she was sad and had a panic attack and that she has "good days and bad days".

All normal reactions without any explanations or details or blame. But while Reese gets credit for that Ryan is called "a jerk" at every opportunity here. He clearly is an involved father who takes care of his kids emotionally and physically. He couldn't make his marriage work but that same thing can be said about most of Hollywood.

Will Smith left his first wife. Does PS call him a jerk at every opportunity? SAME Situation. He just wasn't married to Reese.

Why do we hardly ever see this guy with his daughter?

Celebrities of color aren't hounded by the paparazzi as the non-color counterparts. I believe Gary Dourdan beat one up, Samuel Jackson cursed them out when he went to visit Owen Wilson when he was hospitalized. I guess they'll hound Halle once she has her child. I also believe that celebrities of colors do not mind having their lives off the front page of the tabloids, either. I am pretty sure Ryan was annoyed that those photos were taken.

I thought that was just the cutest thing in the world. I see an adorable pic and I decide to read the article. I read it because I completely respect Ryan he did raise his two kids while Reese was
off making movies and even made a few indies. I didn't however like the fact that you called him a jerk. I know the thing of what you're speaking of, but I don't think that's fair. It takes two people to have a divorce not one. After most of us were totally shocked that they were getting divorced someone decided they would say "Oh Ryan was spending a lot of time with Abbie so he must of cheated." That's not even fair whether he is or isn't dating Abbie now. People spending time together are also called friends and yeah I get sometimes its more, but to speak of something you have no proof of is totally and completely wrong.
So I end this saying that that is a completely adorable picture of a good father hugging his young boy, not a picture of a jerk because this might be hard to believe, but jerks don't hug their kids and jerks don't take time off of work to raise their kids to give them a good father.

i guess in these celeb websites everyone is allowed to hate on the celebs they don't like. But ryan's a good dad so that supersedes any idea of him being a jerk. And I think we should learn to separate feelings of Ryan "the dad" and Ryan "guy-who-may-or-may-not-have-cheated". cos calling him a jerk when he's with his kid is kinda unfair - makes it seem like your thinking he's a jerk, that you actually surprised that he's a good father...
