From magazine covers to morning talk shows, Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are in the promotional game together showing off their new movie The Other Boleyn Girl. They stopped by The Today Show this morning in matching tights and bouncy hair to talk in a very subdued way about the film. Seriously, be a little more excited girls! In the interview the girls talk about the movie (obviously) as well as the book it's based on (it's not too late to join Buzz's book club) and how much they loved working together. Really though, I would have liked to see them having a little more fun? Maybe next interview.

That is NOT an attractive coat.
1aw, i liked their interview. i just read the article online and they seem like they complement each other very well. plus, this is great because here is the case for obviously talented actresses who have something to give back and i think that's great.
2Nice, uh....................coat. Does she WANT to start some pregnancy rumors?
3kinda excited about this movie - just need to read the book before i see it.
4I love them so much. I really can't wait to see this film. I love period pieces.
5I love those two actresses! I can't wait until the movie comes out! I just started the book - so I'll read the book before I see the movie.
6I thought Scarlett was kind of rude, smirking at Natalie like they had some secret. She made it look like they thought the movie was really bad or something. Really unprofessional.
7I like Natalie but I can't stand Scarlett. Natalie outshines her as an actress and in interviews.
8Ugh... it upsets me to see Scarlett Johansson in this movie. But I want to see the movie really badly. So I'll just have to ignore her, just like Keira Knightley in Atonement. Gotta see a good movie.
9Scarlette Johannsen - yuck
10Awesome duo.
11I adore Natalie, always have. Scarlett not so much, her acting is weak and even though I dig her fashion sense (at least how she is dressed by stylists for events and interviews) for all her womanly ways she is rather tomboyish. Nothing wrong with being a tomboy, there are other actress with the same quality that I like very much as well. HOWEVER, I think Scarlett is phony...do you notice that profile of the two? at scene 00:22? I find Natalie more believable in a period piece, Scarlett doesn't even know how to hold herself and her lips are annoying not "luscious." People praise her too much and unecessarily. She is just weaker of the two and cocky.
Natalie is highly intelligent but has a sense of humor about her. She is confident without being arrogant. I think she can pull off being sexy AND cute too...I don't mean to sound bias but I'm just NOT a "ScarJo" fan.
I may see the film though but I want to try and read the book first, I have always meant to and haven't gotten around to it. Anyone read it? Is it any good? I have no audio so I can't actually listen to the interview, what does everyone else think of the film/interview?
12how lovely of the two of them. i'm going to see the movie even if i have to drag my boyfriend with me....
13"find Natalie more believable in a period piece, Scarlett doesn't even...."
I forgot explain, I think Natalie has more versatility, she can do this film, then something like Closer and then do Garden State, etc. Which is what I meant to say and didn't get to finish. I don't remember Scarlett's roles as much people just talk about her looks or love/sex life.
14just watched it, scarlett wasn't rude at all. her and natalie just seem really close, which is great
15I REALLY want to see this movie!!!!
16Channeling Gwen Stefani much?
17i have to correct matt lauer. mary was anne's older sister, not younger. although in the book phillipa made anne older than mary.
18I just don't think Scarlett is a very good actress, much less on par with Natalie. I hope she surprises me, but I think Scarlett is going to stink up this movie.
19They're both great, especially Natalie...and it's really nice that they get along well.
20PeachyKeen19,
I've read the book... it was Wonderful!! I love Philippa Gregory's works and have read most all of them (esp her works about the Tudor time period). I would definitely recommend the book ... and yes please read it before you see the movie. But that is just a personal preference. I just like reading the books before seeing the movies.
21I saw the interview and I thought they were intelligent and insightful. I loved the book and I can't wait to see the movie. I love Natalie.
22nice to see two young actresses getting along instead of cat fighting!
23Nat is FAB! Scarlett is annoying.
24I saw the interview and thought it went well. I like both of them, but I really love Natalie.
25I read the book in Buzz's Friday book club. Very good.
I'm really hoping Scarlett doesn't wreck the movie for me. I love Natalie, but I just can't stand Scarlett - crossing my fingers.....
26I have not read the book but I have been wanting to. I will buy it this weekend. I thought both actresses were beautiful, smart and gracious. Scarlett has been nominated twice for oscars so she is a better actress than Natalie.
27I don't care if you are ScarJo, dark tights + peep toe = NO.
28I've always really liked them both. I've always thought both of them to be so pretty. BUT then you put Scarlett next to Natalie and Scarlett really pales in comparison. I mean really..Natalie's face is just so flawless!! Love her!! Beauty & Smarts!
29they are both overrated wooden actresses. Why are they respected? Just because they don't act like Lindsay Lohan? Please they are wooden actresses who only get by because people like their looks. In hollywood the young women are either trashy trainwrecks or boring, wooden actresses that only get by because of their "looks". We need more Ellen Pages in this world!
Nataile is a very naturally pretty girl and pretty smart but she's wooden in her acting ability! I'm sorry. She can't say any lines naturally if her life depended on it. Very overrated.
Scarlett is overrated in looks and acting. She is just an overhyped starlet that's all. And she makes a lot of dumb comments. If you don't want to be perceived as a "ho-bag" then don't make stupid statements like you did about monogamy. The smart actors keep their mouth shut about things like that. She WANTED to be seen as the ho bag and sexual girl. Angelina used to do that same stuff.
And also she is not all that in the looks department. The most overrated woman alive in the hollywood simply because people just see the blonde hair, bright red lipstick and boobs pushed out. I remember there was a time where she was considered plain but then she died her hair and started trying to be Marilyn Monroe and now she thinks she's all that. To me she just looks like a plain version of the gorgeous Charlize Theron.
And have you seen this girl act? She worked okay for Lost in Translation because she didn't ahve to do anything but in Match Point and every other film she ruins with her wooden acting. Why is she getting roles anyway? Probably because that perverted Woody Allen just wants to bang her.
These are hollywood's idea of talented young starlets. We need more Ellen Page's!
30I read the book and can't wait to see this movie. But like others I think Scarlett was not the right choice for her character and hopes that she doesn't ruin the whole thing
31Can't wait for the movie!!
32wow, scarlett looks sort of dull next to natalie...i heart natalie & always have, though i admit i was a more consistent fan of her performances when she was a kid. i always want to like scarlett but she's underwhelming in every film except the few where she's required to be bored & disenchanted (where essentially being herself comes off as a correct acting choice until you see her try the same thing with characters that are supposed to have more, well, character). she's never ever been like a mischa barton level of terrible in anything, just limp & flat most of the time. so i can't say i'm all that revved up about the movie, honestly.
nit-picking criticism aside, i do think it's cute that they clearly enjoy each other's company
33I have a huge crush on NP. I have since I saw her in Anywhere But Here. I cried pretty much throughout that whole movie, but then, I think I was 15 wor 16 when I saw it. :-/ I don't think SJ is that great of an actress, but she seems like a cool girl to have as a friend. (That platinum hair is dreadful, though!)
34Natalie's great but I think Scarlett is overrated. I almost don't want to see it because of Scarlett.
35I love these two, they look like really good friends!
I think Scarlett is a great actress. I fell in love with her in Girl with the Pearl Earring and in Lost In Translation, and she was also in great in Match Point or in Ghost World. A bad actress? She's not exagerated, but that doesn't mean she's wodden, she's just restrained, wish is great. Natalie is also very good, and I think she has a great personality. Have you seen The Professional or Closer? They have both made some mistakes, that's for sure, but I respect them, they've been in the bussiness for so long, since they were children. The same happens with Christina Ricci, for example, or with Thora Birch.
Ellen Page? Well, she's not bad, but just because she's been in a suposedly indie flick that everybody loves that doesn't transform her into a great actress with a great carreer.
36wow so much hate for scarlett. i personally love her and think she is smart and not a harlot how come she gets that reputation? she ain't a skank like lilo or paris.
37Scarlett's outfits is amazingggggg
38I don't get what she's wearing.
39I love Natalie!
40They are both two of the greatest actresses of their generation. And they are both beautiful in totally different ways; one is more like Marilyn Monroe and one is more like Audrey Hepburn. I respect both of them.
41NATALIE RULES!
42AND WINS!
Nothing against Scarlett, even if I think she is a little bit overrated. But the truth is that near Natalie she disappeared! Natalie is a ray of light that cover her. And i think Scarlett is too Barbie..look at the hair..seems fake, made by polyester...
43Ah! And i have to say that i prefer Nat in a dark color, not so blonde, even if she is always gourgeous!
Natalie - I agree. Scar's beauty PALES pales pales in comparison to Natalie's.
Standing next to Natalie, Scar looks like a goofy doofus face.
44sabrina27 - I am not aware of any films that Scar has had Oscar nominations for??
However, for Natalie's movie Closer, SHE was nominated for an Oscar and received a Golden Globe award.
So...I guess that would mean Natalie is a better actress than Scarlett!
45I saw the previews for the first time last night on this movie and I can't wait to see it!!!!
46I love them both, they don't have to be superrated to be great actresses. At least they are among the few actresses who are well respected in Hollywood whether they are nominated for awards or not.
47Infact generally, when a person is superrated, is not a good actress..it's logic.
48Did anyone else think it was weird the way Scarlet stared at Natalie during the interview?
49I am so excited about this movie. I like them both - I didn't particulary care for NP until Garden State, and some for SJ until Lost in Translation.
