Natalie Portman took a night off of The Other Boleyn Girl duty to launch another of her big projects — her Vegan shoe line for Te Casan — at the store in NYC last night. On most women a leopard print dress with bright red shoes may come off as trashy, but not Natalie. It's just not possible. In her W Magazine co-interview with Scarlett, Natalie talked about her Veganism when Johansson asked her about missing cheese (namely, quesadillas). Portman said, "Yeah, I don’t know how long it will last.” Well, she may succumb to the awesome power of cheese soon, but no matter what she's got some hot new shoes to sell to the world.

she did pull this off quite well
1She's FAB!
2I'm with her, I don't know that I could give up the power of cheese.... I've toned it down severely but to give it up all together is a bit much to ask of me. I would rather give up chocolate than cheese. She's very pretty, but I don't like those shoes a bit.
3love the red shoes, if her collection is as hot as those are well then her line will be successful I can't imagine giving up meat. i don't eat red meat anymore but that's only cos the red meat here is so tasteless, as soon as I get home it will be all about the red meat.
4Honestly, I haven't had cheese in years, and I don't miss it. At all. I used to LOVE cheese -- extra-sharp cheddar cheese was my favorite -- but now I can't even remember what it tastes like.
I'm definitely getting a pair of these shoes. I just have to set aside the cash (I'm super cheap, and I want to stretch out my little splurges while I'm still a student... and probably quite a bit after that as well lol).
5I think she is beautiful but the outfit is far from it. I don't like the red shoes paired with what her outfit but they could work with something else...just my opinion.
6I think Natalie Portman ,overall, is pretty close to perfect.
7I love her.
I could never be a Vegan, though. More power to her.
8She looks adorable!
9I like the shoes but not with the black tights. This combination makes me think of Minnie Mouse. Nude pantyhose or no hose would have been a lot better. This morning I saw a woman wearing white crocs with black socks. Oy vey.
10Totally adorable, and I could never be a Vegan either.I quit smoking long ago, I don't wear fur, I recycle, but don't make stop eating "jamón" or all the other spanish sausages
11I really thought I'd miss cheese but I gave it up (and all dairy) almost 18 months ago and I can't say I really do.
12I don't know...I love her, and she's always beautiful, but that dress looks like a really matronly blouse, and the combination of that with the tights and shoes is just...yuck.
You're right, though, it doesn't look trashy. Not so good, but not trashy.
13I pre-ordered those red shoes and they should be shipped this week! I am so excited!!! However, I will not be wearing them with a leopard print dress or black tights.
14I am doing OK at resisting the power of cheese. It's hard though.
Wow more power to those of you that could give up cheese. I seriously stopped eating as much of it and when I go down the cheese aisle at the grocery store it kills me, I just look at all the cheesses and drool.. My mouth ACTUALLY waters. I think I may need to join Cheeseaholics Anonymous...
I also couldn't give up meat. I'm a carnivore for SURE!
15I'm a vegetarian so I was excited for her shoe line, but it's so pricey! Call me a cheapie, but I can't spend $200 for a pair of vegan shoes—not when Payless has similar styles for, like, $15.
16Natalie is awesome! What a great role model for young celebs -- pure class!
17love her, but sorry can't give give up the cheese esp cos i love italian and mexican food.
18she is a great actress + a smart one,and she is sooo pretty
19she looks pretty but i don't like her dress
20I am a vegetarian who rarely eats dairy and never eats eggs, but I don't call myself a vegan. I love the idea of vegan shoes and earth-friendly products in general, but I wish the shoes weren't so expensive. I think a lot of younger vegans and vegetarians who look up to Natalie can't afford these. It's a shame that all the things that are good for us and/or for the environment are often expensive. Doesn't Natalie know that us non-famous, healthy eaters spend way too much money on organic and natural foods to spend $200+ on a pair of heels?
21I still love her and support her for coming out with the shoe line. It just may be awhile before I can strut in a pair.
the shoes look fab but the dress, i'm not too sure. she does look lovely though.
