While Scarlett Johansson's arrival in Berlin this morning implies that she won't be spending Valentine's Day with her boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, she was keeping one of the men in her life — "fiancé" Barack Obama — close to her heart. She's in town to premiere The Other Boleyn Girl at the Berlin Film Festival, but it's her other big Spring release that has everyone talking. More details are emerging about her impending album release — this time that her collaborators include David Bowie. While I'm still skeptical about the collection of Tom Waits covers as a whole, I'll be the first to admit that's a pretty kick-ass duet to nab. Who knows, maybe the album will be way more legit and awesome than I give her credit for.

you know - i think that we all need to give her more credit - especially if she has a decent collaboration on her album. we'll just have to wait and see what it sounds like. i can't even picture in my mind what her singing voice will be like
1I'm pretty sure that everyone knows my feelings on ScarJo. I have a serious chickcrush on her. She's so beautiful, and SOOOO talanted. Sigh... Love you Scarlett..
2I'm curious to hear her sing too. Hugh Jackman was quoted as saying she has a great voice.
Maybe he meant she just has a nice pair of "lungs". Just kidding!
3I think that her album could be pretty good- I mean she is pretty much a talented person, so Im excited to see what happens. I bet her voice is sorta Marianne Faithfull or something real sexy.
4I think its lame that she said Obama was her fiance. If some chick had called my husband their fiance, I'd have to smack da b*tch! And I wouldnt care if she was joking, or didnt mean it, or meant something else by it.
5:ROTLF: Sporky!
6over exposure can be a b*tch. I hope she doesn't push it too hard.
7ugghhh
8j2 ~ I think she meant that comment as the highest praise for Obama, but it sure wasn't the smartest/most respectful thing to say. To paraphrase something I read on another site when this happened, if I were Mrs. Obama I'd have chucked my Easy Spirit pump at Scarlett's head for saying that.
9LOL
10Man, someone can call my husband their fiance all they want. I know he's all mine
11
Sporky!
12I really like her. She looks great without makeup, too. Is Natalie attending?
13Singing voice and Obama aside...
No Fur, Scarlett.
That big winter coat doesn't require fur trim for warmth.
14#14, you do realise that fur on those jackets are not real fur!
15Oooooohhhh no!! Bowie is my GOD. I'll have to buy it no matter what now. Ugh, curse you Scarlett.
16I like Scarlett. I love Tom Waits. And I love Bowie.
I'm still not 100% sure that this album will turn out good, but I'm excited to hear it anyway.
Didn't pop post Scarjo singing something a long, long time ago?
I'm going to look for it...
17Okay, it was here but the MP3 was removed.
18Ooh, found it somewhere else.
Here it is. She's singing one of my favorites, "Summertime" from Porgy and Bess.
She doesn't blow me out of the water, but she's pretty damn good. So I'm really hoping that this album is good.
19Crap, my link didn't work.
Here it is for realz.
20Damn Whip, you beat me! I love all three as well. I don't have high hopes for this album, but I'd like to hear it anyway.
21she's def one of the few telented young hollywood
22I like her Obama pin
23Damn, it's so cold in Berlin! I'm not sure what to think about this Tom Waits project... I love Scarlett, I love Tom Waits and I love Bowie but I don't know... I guess I just don't see her as a singer. We'll see!
24I heard her song "Summertime" ( a cover I think) and her voice is pretty decent. Although I'm not sure why she's pursuing a music career as opposed to her very nice movie career. Variety is the spice of life?
25Sure she's in Berlin? She looks like she's heading for an arctic trip. We certainly don't have spring temperatures in Germany at the moment, but it's not *that* cold yet.
26Are you people SERIOUS??

The link above shows her singing at Coachella.
Believe me- with the studio tools we have today, anybody could get away with making a crappy pop song. We've got enough poptarts out there, and since she is arguably (and I mean ARGUABLY) a good actress, maybe she should stick with that.
It's a shame Bowie is in on this. I know he is a business man, but I didn't see this one coming! This world gives beautiful people way too much credit for mediocre "talent"!!!
