Hayden Christensen is showing off his super spiky hair and smoldering stare in this month's Details magazine. We've got to hand it to him for having the brooding boy act down cold. Hayden's been all over the place promoting Jumper with Rachel, but in the article he was more interested in talking about Star Wars, plus a few tidbits about his pet piggies and how he deals with being pegged as a bad actor. Here are highlights:
- On his pet pigs: "That's Buddy and Petunia. I'm not a vegetarian, but since I've gotten these guys, I can't eat pork anymore. It's killing me. I especially love prosciutto."
- On the backlash for his acting in Star Wars: "How those movies are made is very specific, as far as what our jobs are. George isn't looking for us to come in and have script meetings with him and talk about characters. It wasn't necessarily anything you could feel good about creatively, as far as 'This is why I became an actor.' It's not why you become an actor, to do that stuff"
- On his personal motto, ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM, "It was a saying among soldiers in World War II. It means 'Don't let the bastards get you down."
It sounds like Hayden won't have a hard time living up to his own advice this week. Even though Jumper didn't get rave reviews, it still scored the No. 1 spot at the box office last weekend.

2It's not that he's necessarily a bad actor. He just has no idea how to choose a role. But let's face it, any actor willing to play Darth Vadar, would have been screwed anyway regardless of their talent. But he's great in, "Life as a house." Thats one of my favs. But I think he's just fine... not fantastic, but fine. And he has a pretty face, so he'll be around a while. He just needs that one perfect role. I say he should go the indie route.

7Also, I have to agree with dash of sugar...and it doesn't just pertain to Hayden. I have yet to see a film where Brad Pitt or Ben Affleck have "shown" me that they can act. And dont even get me started on a lot of our so called actresses! ( Jessica Alba, I am looking at you!)
8How many times has the coat over the shoulder look been taken? Uggghh...Hollywood is letting me down lately, it seems they are just rehashing old ideas with different faces. When new faces come around, I wish new talent behind the camera did also.
9Hayden proved he could act in "Life as a House" and "Shattered Glass". I think he just needs an actor's director and George Lucas is not one of those. Look back at the other Star Wars films. Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher were funny and had good chemistry, but there was no real acting awards being given to any of them. Hayden needs to get back into the dramatic roles where he can find his footing again.
10I've never seen "Life as a House" or "Shattered Glass" but he has been just awful in everything I have seen him in ("Star Wars, "Factory Girl") and I heard he sucked in "Jumper" as well.

14I agree, mirellarenee. There are few "actors" and many celebrities. I actually don't really think Brad Pitt can act at all. Hes' just a name. Ben Affleck... yeah RIGHT! Not an actor; his friend Matt... kind of an actor, but a name aswell... The only one who I think can actually call himself an actor is Ryan Gosling. (we're talking guys here) He is one hell of an amazing actor; not a celebrity. Oh ya. With girls.. I think the best actress has yet to be named... and no I 'think Natalie Portman's acting is much to gush over. A few tears isn't acting. Actually... ya know who's awesome and will be incredible... ELLEN PAGE! (Juno).. she is f*cking it! Ryan Gosling and Ellen Page are the two best young actors out right now... anyone agree?

18I LOVED Jumper... I don't know what everyones problem is with it... Hayden wasn't great. But Rachel was so hott and cute, and even funny. And it was an awesome flick. I think the critics are just being lame.
Well he isnt helping his image as a bad actor by starring in Sh*tty movies like Jumper and Star Wars!! I dont feel sorry for people who make thier own beds like that.

Love Hayden. He and my oldest nephew have a strong resemblance, some casting agent commented on it. But ILLEGITIMI NON CARBORUNDUM isn't latin its made up "latin" mock. Still good motto.

Well, I did see Awake and OMFG!! Those blue eye's in the light sitting in the limo! Hayden has incrediable eye's!! He is breathtaking and it is hard to take your eye's off him! :nuts:
