She is still a child,it just so happens that she is having one,so I think punishing her is not a bad idea at all. I had to go through hell when I got pregnant at 18..thinking about it now makes me very upset. don't all the young moms out in the world wish they had the money she has.

That's probably because every time she does it creates a media s*** storm and her Mom didn't want her out where she couldn't protect herself. I mean face it, pregnant or not, she's still 16. My son is 16, and I don't give a damn WHAT he's done, if he breaks my rules he pays. Period. I don't care if he's fresh out of rehab, he's got to have rules. And you're right letsget, she needs some discipline. That much is obvious. If she doesn't get someone holding the reins now, who CARES how many kids she has, she'll go nuts just like her sister.

She is so more mature than her sister, you can se that by how she avoids attention. And selling her story to OK magazine was probably an attempt to keep the publicity as low as possible (and also to make money..wich is not a sin.), they probably knew that the media would go crazy about this when they would find out, so decided to announce it herself (to lessen the rumors..not very successfull so far). I mean, she's 16 and has a boyfriend, accidents happen. She is also soo cute, wich is maybe a part of the reason why I'm defending her so much (oh shallow me).

Will someone please tell pregnant women they should NOT be pumping gasoline. It is believed that additives in it may cause autism. Hasn't been proven, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

No sleepovers? A little late for that rule. If Lynne's worried about her safety when she goes out, get the girl a bodyguard. Keeping her locked up in the house won't make the pregnancy go away.

I agree with irose and ricegirl - Lynne wants to keep her under wraps, then sell the "money" shots of JL 8 months pregnant to the highest bidder.

Just because she's grounded doesn't mean that is was because of the pregnancy, she may have done something else. The two are not necessary one and the same.

Showing some disipline late in the game is better than none at all.

JL is going to be a much better parent than Britney. You can tell by interviews when they were both the same age, Jamie is much smarter than Britney. Britney always giggled, flirted, laughed and threw her hair around a lot in interviews. Jamie is nothing like that.

I really feel for them - their whole family is messed up, starting from Mom and Dad Spears. :/ Hopefully Jamie and Britney will learn from their mistakes soon... I'm rooting for them!

I remember (TRUE STORY) there was this family in our town that everyone thought was the best family around. The mom and dad were both preppy and had good jobs. Their kids went to private schools and they were the best looking kids around. The daughter was a cheerleader the son the star football player.

Anyway, the son was drinking and got killed in a car wreck when he was 16. The father started drinking and lost his job. Then they started having money problems so the guy burns their house down and says a candle did it so they could collect on the insurance. (which they did)

THEN..he goes from drinking to drugs when the wife files for divorce....right after the divorce the guy goes crazy one morning and shoots this guy he saw walking down the road on is way to church. He shoots him 6 times. Then goes bat sh*t crazy trying to kill himself by running into oncoming traffic, the cops stop him before he can wreck his car into anyone....he sits in prison now...for the rest of his life...and it's hard to believe at one time this was the most prominent family in town and everyone wished they could have a family like theirs. No one has a perfect family...you just deal with what comes your way the best you can and then find the strength to keep going...

I think that's kind of stupid to ground her. Yes, she's still young, but since she's already pregnant with her boyfriend, why is she not allowed to sleepover his house? Haha I don't know, seems kind of pointless to set that rule.

I hope Jamie doesn't go through what Britney is going through today. Maybe it's a good thing that their mom is keeping a close eye on her. It's a bit late, yes, but better late than never.

I know I'm probably going to catch sh*t for saying this, but...16 year old children shouldn't be having children. She should have gotten an abortion. Her mother should have forced it. Really a shame. She may have money to care for it, but she is just 16.

My mother had my oldest brother when she was 16. There are 4 of us, I'm number 3. He's a millionaire now with 2 kids. I'm sure he's glad, the people who have a job because of him are glad, his wife and his children are glad my mom didn't get an abortion with him. It wasn't offered back then in 1960, but she did what every other 16 yr old did at the time who got pregnant, and that's get married and raise your child.

I did forget to mention that his oldest daughter is in her first yr of medical school. The world would be one less doctor to help people if my mom had aborted him. I'm not saying of course this happens in every situation, but it did happen this once.

I hope JL is very grateful that she has the money to be able to have, support, and give the baby a good life. Most people don't have that.
If I ever have a daughter, I don't care if she's having sex or not, at age 14 I will put her on birth control to keep this type of thing from happening.

I knew someone who had a baby at 14. It happens. Sure, they're irresponsible, but it's unfair to yell profanity and them and be rude about their parents. In the old days people had kids as soon as they were able. There weren't laws or morality on the deal.

Must be an American thing, seriously. In the UK, people sometimes leave compulsory education at 15 (school ends before they turn 16). I think it's ridiculous about the amount of taboo surrounding getting pregnant at a certain age.

The main thing about people thinking its bad to have kids at 16 is that they are not mature enough. Clearly in this case, she has been with the father for a while, and they're still together. Hopefully he'll stick around.
She has the money to look after her baby, which is another thing about having kids at 16. The very large majority of 16yr olds having babies don't have that sort of money at their disposal.

It is also unfair to suggest she is going to turn into Britney. I would say that after Britney's antics, it is likely her mother has learned from it and will do everything possible to make sure it doesn't happen anyway.

Now I'm not condoning teenage pregnancy, but this isn't like every other public community teen pregnancy. It's someone with money, and who is very likely to get more money/free stuff thrown at her because she's famous. Therefore it's silly to keep attacking her and her mother senselessly. I know some of you are bored with your own lives, but being needlessly vindictive isn't the way.

Momma Spears, grounding your baby girl isn't going to do squat. Why CAN'T the father of their pending child spend the night? Regardless of whether or not the engage in any more sexual antics, now that they are both going to be parents, unless one of them has an STD it's kind of too late, just like everyone else posted.

She should have been doing that when they were first concieved. And now that their lives are almost totally gone she wants to get involved. They are too old to listen to her now. Her girls are too wild for words sometimes, especially Britney.

Is she even old enough to drive? Where i live you have to be 16 1/2 to get your learners permit and 17 to get your license.

Pregnant or not she still 16. It’s never too late to start disciplining your kid. Sure she’s going to be a mom but that doesn’t automatically make her responsible (ha!) or capable for being a mom. JL needs strict rules in her life and Jaime really needs to start taking care of her children.

Honestly, no one could’ve ever predicted BS turning into a loony toon. So you never know.
