I think the reason is that people just don’t like Vanessa either way....working on something low budget or not. They see in Vanessa what they saw in Jessica when it comes to what they wanted or want out of Nick. Which is too be known through him.

A lot of people feel this way about Vanessa. And I don’t think it will ever change. But I do think that people will dislike Nick slowly but surely if he marries this woman. Most women feel that Vanessa brings Nick down more by the day.

PinkNC if they are happy i dont think they care more about what people think about them as couple. They seem happy and strungling in there career like most of people in hollywood. (Hollywood glumour come and go and its sad you have to have some scandle to get attention again (jail, rehab, sex tape, bump watch, hook up etc. Its not like Nick was famous before for anything other than Mr simpson, atleast he is better off Now than 4 years ago making a name for himself.

I like Vanessa, I don't see why people put her down. She dated Derek Jeter for about two years before she started dating Nick. She won Miss Teen USA and Miss Congeniality. Usually that never happens. She had two high profile jobs at the same time, TRL and ET. That's not easy. Now she's trying acting.
I don't see what she has done to deserve the criticism. I agree with gimme except for the comment about Nick. He was the lead singer of 98 Degrees which was 3rd after NSyNC and BSB. He had more money than Jessica when they got married. She was in debt to her record company. He bought their house himself. She was their opening act. She became famous on Newlyweds.

*Gimme* - Well first of all I never considered Nick as "Mr. Simpson" Now I can get a little irritated at Nick like I do a lot of other celebs on some days. But on everyday I honestly find that insulting on his behalf. Now just making an assumption here but Jessica Simpson probably told Nick Lachey that she wanted to take his last name and couldn’t wait too. Then when she got it she wouldn’t respect that part of their union. Whenever Jessica announced herself she would find everyway to go around saying it. Then there were times when Jessica would replace Nick’s last name for her last name whenever somebody else tried to call her Mrs. Lachey publicly. That’s just one more thing Jessica never officially gave up for Nick anyway.

I swear I was in complete shock and had to turn towards the TV when I heard Jessica say it had been 2 years and she still had NOT changed her last name. And Nick was sitting right next to her in the car. Nick was disrespected 360. After a while Jessica did it all the way around without skipping a disrespectful beat. There were so many warning signs with Jessica. Nick just didn’t see it until the end. And he is not the first man to be that way. Women know what to use and how and Jessica did it. Now people feel that Vanessa Minnillo is doing the same but in a slightly different manner. Vanessa would have to change it up; she doesn’t have a choice, if what people believe is true about Vanessa Minnillo.

That should just show how much people still respect him more than those two. People wouldn’t get so mad over this distant stranger if they didn’t care so much about him. You should see it that way too. His fans are just concerned. It hurt his fans to see Nick so mistreated on the Newlyweds. When some of them see Vanessa they see Jessica.

Blake is adorable. I love her. As far as Nick and Vanessa and Jessica-Can't stand Jessica!!! Vanessa...not thrilled about her for some reason, but she is better than Jess.

I agree *flutterpie*. But no one can seem to figure out what it is. Sometimes I think I'm sure and then the next I don't. One thing is for sure...most of the world hates Vanessa and everything that she stands for. So no matter how much people repeat things to try and make it seem like she's a good girl/woman, no one will ever believe it to be true....that's just a pure fact.

And like I told someone this morning, if you can't stand to read the criticism, then don't bother to come to the blogs. You cannot convince the ladies of the Pop community if they do not want to be persuaded. We are all highly opinionated and intelligent grown women.

I like Nick but he lives in a familiar box. He acts as if he doesn't know how to venture out and see what else is out there when it comes to women. Nick picks the all the women that give him bad news. Hey, maybe Nick's off on that. Just like some women that get off on men that mistreat them in their relationship. It's odd but it happens so I guess Nick's being like those women.

And I agree with most of you especially Joielin. Vanessa likes to associate herself with men that will give her the most attention. Thing is, all the good men out there don't want Vanessa because they do NOT want their reputation and career spoiled. They're the intelligent men. I'd keep my career in tact too.
