Jamie Lynn Spears has laid pretty incredibly low since announcing her teen pregnancy to the world back in December, but these days she's been stepping out more back home in Kentwood, LA. She's still not showing off that baby bump in any skin tight shirts, but, uh, I guess she's not grounded anymore? Maybe Lynne Spears gave her younger daughter some leniency after passing her GED. Hey, let's hear it for the Spears girls on the up and up?

I am glad that she isnt just sitting at home feeling down about herself. My best friend in high school got prego and she basically went into a deep depression. I can only imagine what it must

16 is young but I was at a shoe store the other day and there was this little girl I swear she didn't look more the 10 with a belly!!! I'm not talking about a fat jelly belly I mean a pregnant belly I had to do a double take it sure as hell looked like a prenant belly to me. She was with 3 other girls one of which looked about 14 with a baby bjorn and a baby in it!

The up and up? teenage pregnancy shouldnt be seen as a postive step in the right direction. I think its sick that we are watching for her baby bump. she is a child.

She really doesn't look pregnant and she wasn't exactly a stick figure before. I don't know I think it's a sad situation just because everyone seems to be so down on her aboutit. I don't think 16 is a good age to do anything super life changing. I mean I'm almost 30 and it freaks me out to think about getting pregnant, but I don't think she's the most horrible girl in the world. She made a mistake and got caught who hasn't had that happen at some time in their lives?

I'm sorry, but I really don't think there's anything necessarily good about being pregnant when you are this young. I have no ill feelings towards Jamie-Lynn, and I'm sure she's not exactly happy about the situation, but the further away she is from being on "bump" watch, the better!!! This is NOT cute and I agree with Caterpillargirl, I don't see this as any sort of "positive" step!!!

I can't make a big deal out of it because I have seen this all of my life. Some girls are strong enough to handle it and some are not. The sad thing about this situation is she's a role model for alot of young girls, now what are they going to get from this?

I think it's a bit difficult to ground someone who has a career, her own home, and a baby on the way. I never believed that story.
And I wish people would stop treating this situation like its one in a million ....cause its not!!
Nearly ONE MILLION teens under 20 get pregnant each year ....dammit!
So it's good that she's taking responsibility, but I don't think that (even if it's an improvement) this sort of behavior or mediocrity when a person has that much privilege. Her earlier actions were completely unacceptable, especially as someone who has been made to be a role model by her participation as a primary character on a school-age drama for children.

Why is this bigger than all those Hollywood couples having babies out of wedlock, like that's alright? So many of you seem generally outraged that she is considered a disappointing role model, having fallen from grace with this pregnancy. But what about those "role models", say, for example, Jessica Alba, who has decided that it's fine to jump on THAT train?
I agree with cinadanni24 who says some girls are strong enough to deal with this & others just aren't. Jamie seems pretty solid to me. I think she'll be fine.
Bottom line to me is: Jamie-Lyn will one day be a 32-y/o woman with a 16 y/o. THEN what will be the big deal?

I can't imagine having a kid at 16. I had my daughter when I was 22 and I was still too young and immature. I just muddled through at first. It was scary to have such a little fragile person
depending on you. They are unbelievable though. Love that girl so much it hurts Now
that I am older, wiser, and ready for a few more little ones, mother nature doesn't agree. Funny how life works out, isn't it?
I wish Jamie was being more proactive and raising awareness for our nations high teen pregnancy rate.
