I've always thought of the Golden Globes kind of as the back alley version of the Academy Awards. So, even though the GGs have really been bringing the big names in recent years, I still see them as the more secret fun lets get drunk together award occasion. I mean, when was the last time someone was full-on drinking wine straight from the bottle a la Ken Davitian of Borat during the Oscars? Answer: never.

Just take the fact that the show started with Justin Timberlake accepting an award for Prince (by poking fun of his height) because the man himself was stuck in heinous LA traffic. Who can predict the Globes? Plus, Tom Hanks repeatedly used the word "balls" (yes, in that way) when presenting the Cecil B. Demille Award to Warren Beatty. So, there's always that. Well, never let it be said that award shows these days are devoid of crude humor, that's for sure.
Lots more images of the evening including Diddy, George Clooney, Jessica Biel, Tom Hanks, Warren Beatty, SJP, Jakey G, and more so read more

5I'm so glad Jennifer Hudson won. Love SJP's dress. Love.

**~~Everyone who's anyone has been on sesame street.~~**
7I don't watch award shows, but I love looking at pics of what the stars wear to them.
8The men are looking gorgeous. As for the majority of the women, uh, try harder for the Oscars. I've never been so disappointed. Even the bad ones aren't hysterical or outlandish enough to be memorable. Remember Cher? Bjork? Yeah. If you're going to dress poorly, do it so outlandishly that it's worth it ladies.

9...to be fair also, it's very hard to screw up a tux and very hard to get the right dress.

10i actually like that the globes are a little more casual - people make the best speeches coz everyone isn't as uptight as they are at the oscars! case in point Hugh Laurie - gives really humorous speeches!
11EWW!! Wth is up with Cameron Diaz's dress?!?! thats hoorrrrible!!!
12I don't know about you guys but I totally flipped to see Kate & Leo together. They will always be so adorable in my book.
13How awesome is that "Titanic" flashback picture? They both look so nice in that pic.
14How much more makeup and fake eyelashes can one put on their face *ahemEvaLongoriaahem*
