Sarah Michelle Gellar posed pretty for her black and white spread in Gotham magazine. SMG looks flawless even if the photos aren't her most exciting shoot but at least she has plenty to say. In the article, she dishes about her shoe obsession, kids, and being married to Freddie. Here are highlights:
- On her many pairs of shoes: "Oh, God. Let's just say that when people look at my closet, I get the nod of shame. I love shoes. And I'm slightly vertically challenged. I need the height."
- On whether or not she wants kids: "I can't help it—every day people ask me that question. I sometimes feel like I'm doing something wrong. But when the time is right, we will. I just turned 30. There's traveling I want to do. There's charity work I want to do. I'm learning to believe in myself more, and I'm realizing things that I'm capable of accomplishing. And when we do have children, my husband and I will have such a strong foundation because we've given our relationship time to grow.

9i bet people don't ask FP Jr when he is going to have kids. The whole doube standard is so gross. She should be able to have goals and aspirations and want to accomplish certain things. And for God's sake she's only 30! I know at 26 people are always asking me when i am going to have kids and it gets so annoying. I totally respect that she is being responsible and having them when she is ready.

12Wow... Freddie and Sarah have been married for over five years and they're doing pretty well. No scandals. They've been low-key. They seem like a nice, grounded couple. And the fact that they're waiting until they're ready to have children is really great. Cheers for them!

16she seems kind of like a b*tch, but I applaud her if she wants to do other things with her life. Children are not important for her right now so thats fine and everything, but it just stink to be a woman b/c it gets harder to have kids as you get older. 19i would love for one celebrity to say, "it's none of your business if or when i reproduce". it seems to be the same questions applied to actresses, it shows lack of originality on the part of the interviewer.

21I feel like being asked when your going to have kids isn't even a hollywood thing, all newly weds get asked that, and shes not even a newly wed. Therefore, these celebs are going to have to expect it. Also, I don't see what the big deal is, some people say it b/c they feel once your married you have to have kids thats the reason to be married. Other people just might want to know, b/c in away it seals the deal in the relationship. I think these celebs try to act like they don't like being asked these questions, but they all do and it only gets them more attention, hint hint Angelina!

24I relate to SMG on the children issue. My husband and I have been married for several years (together for over 10 years). We decided before we married that we didn't want children. We married for romantic love only.
When I tell people of our decision on children, I STILL get asked (actually harrassed) on when we will have children, presuming we would (and should) change our minds. Personally, I've received a lot of heat for our decision. I've been told I was stupid, lazy, not a woman (because a female becomes a woman ONLY when she has a baby), and other absurdities.
Truthfully, the only person who respectfully accepted our decision is my family doctor. Almost all of my friends and family members give me a hard time.

29Lauren G, I don't think that they are married matters in the long run.There are many types of family out there even among those who are not famous so let's not say that only Hollywood couples have children out of wedlock and let's ask ourselves why does that matter. Sarah seems like a good person and bravo to her for waiting when she is ready to have kids.

I f you really want to see a great spread, look up her creepy shoot with broken glass and scary cats (both of which she has a phobia) in entertainment weekly back in 2004. She looks gorgeous, and the photos are fantastic...

42I adore her and her husband, I have been married 8 years now and get the "when are you having kids" question alot, like SMG we are building a good marriage, good friendship and ultimately a good foundation for a family.

I am confused to what she contributes to the industry... it is good to know that she believes in marriage and promotes that to whomever her audience is. she must be good for something since it is not her looks that gets her coverage. that nose must really be difficult to get good angles and lighting! better to be recognized by her nose than to become plain like ashlee simpson and that disney girl.

45Whatsnormalneway last year Sarah released The Grudge 2 (with Amber Tamblyn), The Return (with Sam Shepard), TMNT (voice), Happily N'Ever After (voiced with Freddie), Suburban Girl (with Alex Baldwin) and Southland Tales (with Dwayne Johnson and Sean William Scott), and is soon to release The Air I Breathe (with Kevin Bacon and Brendan Fraser) and Posession (with Lee Pace) this year. She's also working on a movie version of American Mgee's Alice, a dark version of Alice in Wonderland and voicing a charater in Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey this year.
Anyway I love Sarah to bits but these aren't my favourite shots of her for me. But everything she says just shows how grounded she is and I love her for that.

48WhatsNormalNeway - Five minutes in a sequel as a favour, one role in an indie, one role in an indepdent kid's flick last year and three small independent movies this year hardly seem like "quantity" but I guess we count differently. You ask if she's done anything recently (while dissing her looks) and then you poo-poo what she's done recently...really, how bored are we?
Anyway, these are not my favourite photos of her by a long shot. Boring shoot and she looks old in half of them. She's a better subject than these and I wish photographers would use her expressive face/eyes etc. and come up with better concepts.
