Finally a men's show that really entertained! It started a little slow (bye bye Luke) but cutie Danny Archuleta showed off his voice again, and the show picked up. Here's what else I loved about last night:
Danny Noriega, what can I say? I love the sass.
David "Stripper" Hernandez — Celine Dion, really? Yes, I know Meatloaf also sang it, but all I saw was Celine (bye bye boy).
Michael Johns, the Jim Morrison wannabe, was an early favorite, but as expected, he's starting to fall behind as the others improve. Luckily he sang the song from The Breakfast Club, so of course we loved it.
David Cook — minus the hair — wow! Love the Lionel and so happy Simon liked it too! Not sure we needed to know they were just at Whole Foods this weekend buying carrots, but whatever.
Jason Castro — winner of the night! That song is insane, and he nailed it. All I could think about was my beloved OC and Seth and Summer and of course Marissa's death and that season one finale. Yes, loser = me, and Jason = awesome.
Finally, Chikezie didn't deserve the last spot, but I think he was still strong enough to secure a spot for next week.
I'm so glad we filtered through the untalented to get to this point. Next week will be even better when hopefully Luke and David are gone.

2I definitely agree that Luke is going home, but David H? I thought he did pretty good! I'm wishing for Danny to go home, I wasn't really feeling Tainted Love. I'm curious to see how many girls are going to try to sing Whitney Houston tonight. And how many of them are going to get torn down because of it.

I disagree with the idea of David H going home. I think he had another good night. I think Luke and Chikeze (or Daniel) are going home tomorrow night.

10Hernandez even though he was a stripper. David Cook was outstanding last night but he has to do something to his hair. I predict that Luke and Chikezie will go. And I love Halelujah, especially the original by Leonard Cohen and also by Rufus Wainwright.
The guys made for a great show last night but I have a question for you all...Was Paula a lot more loopy than usual last night? The last two weeks she's been putting together complete sentences but last night she was definitely on something. Kooky little Paula. Gotta love her. So entertaining.
11I like David H. too. Luke and Chikezie-Easy need to go.
David Cook's hair is so bad that it makes it impossible for me to like him, literally.
12I have to disagree about David H going home. I thought he did really well last night plus he has one of the best male voices in the competition! I also love David A....he's just the cutest of them all!
I too thought of the season 3 finale when Ryan is carrying Marissa's dead body from the car during Jason's performance
13But I didn't feel it. I think he has the weakest voice out of the males well aside from Luke who is obviously going home tonight. If not Jason then I think Chekezie or maybe even Danny will go.
As they get further on and the stylists get involved, David Cook's hair will most likely change. I think he's really talented. I like Danny Noriega, I think he's totally cute and funny, but his voice and performance isn't up to the same level as some of the others. David Archuleta is one of my faves, and JASON!! WOW!!
Sushibananas is totally right about Paula - what do you think, booze? pills? It's got to be something, because she was coherent for two weeks, then back to ridiculous and unwatchable this week.
14Count me as one of those who really like David Hernandez and think he's got one of the stronger voices in this competition. I do agree that Luke is going home and I vote for Chez. to join him. I wasn't as impressed with Stoner Dude and even he was surprised that the judges didn't call him on his voice cracking towards the end of the song. I just can't get past his interviews where he seems like he just finished a fatty is on mission to locate some cheetohs.
15Danny and Jason are on my Yuck list! His dread broke off?!?!?! Seriously, gross!
16I was actually watching Idol with my best friend last night who hasn't real;ly been watching this season. And as soon as Jason finished his little interview she turned to me and said ok he wasn't high??? I started laughing so hard! Im glad you caught that as well!

18I really wish David C. would do something about his hair. I don't know, though, David H. might sneak by this week, if only for the curiosity factor. (Also, I just accidentally typed "might just strip by." Hee!)
19GMarie, I don't think the stylists can do much to help David's hair, unless she shaves it off....but then he'll face the Chris Daughtry comparisons.
20Personally, I liked the Celine Dion song, and hated the Lionel Ritchie cover!! I like my share of bad eighties music, but that's where I draw the line! Some songs SHOULD drift into obscurity.
I say get rid of Luke and that twelve-year-old with the purple hair mascara.
21I love Danny and all of his spunkiness! And honestly, I don't think Jason Castro did that great on the song...but that's just me.
22Awwww, the first time I ever heard Hallelujah was that Season 1 finale, love the song and of course loved The OC!
23- By the way, its DAVID Archuleta. There are 3 Davids on the show, I checkd the American Idol website.
-I love the songs Hallelujah, It's All Coming back to Me Now, Don'y Forget About Me, and Another Day in Paradise so I'm glad that my top four guys chose them (I'm such a big 80s fan).
