I was hoping this one was just rude gossip. I can't imagine him dying!! I mean...he is still young!!! Well, to me he is anyway. I hope he has some luck with treatment soon. Sam Wheat was one of my all time favorite movie characters.

This is so sad. One of my dad's friends is dying from it, and the worst part of being diagnosed is that when you catch it, it's usually too late because symptoms aren't so obvious.

So tragic! I hope it's not in advanced stage and that he can stay among us for many years.

I actually saw it on a couple of news sites. I am not sure if he has only five weeks to live, which is what was said, but they did say his treatments were not helping much.

So sad. My grandfather died of pancreatic cancer, so I know how hard this must be for him and his family. Shame on The National Enquirer for treated such a serious, personal issue as just another headline.

That's very sad news. How unfortunately ironic. I just found out today my uncle has this particular cancer as well. I hope it was caught early and that he has a speedy recovery...

Pancreatic cancer is one the more difficult kinds to diagnose in time to do anything about it. This is so sad. He always seemed like such a nice person. My thoughts and prayer are with him and his wife.

Devastating news... I was hoping that this rumour was a disgusting lie, my thoughts and prayers are with him, I've lost my father to a cancer and he was way too young like him. That's really depressing...

Oh my gosh. How sad. Pessimistically, I'm afraid pancreatic cancer has one of the highest mortality rates. Also, patients usually don't have long to live.

It's so sad, that is an incredibly hard cancer to try and beat.

my assistant told me about this earlier today and got a few facts wrong - but i'm sad to see that it's confirmed that he has cancer. he's an amazing actor/dancer/person. i wish him and his family the best.

That is very sad. Pancreatic cancer is asymptomatic so by the time they catch it, it is usually because it has spread to other organs and THOSE organs showed symptoms. Usually there is only a few months or less to live and you can't really do surgery Very sad.

Oh, that's sad! I loved him in Dirty Dancing which is one of my fave movies!

I read this earlier and was really hoping it wasn't true. JennaV - You said it. This f*cking sucks. Dirty Dancing is one of my guilty pleasures. I love him in that movie. Point Break, Road House. I feel so stupid because I really feel like crap right now. I don't mean to trivialize anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer, but it feels like I just found out that a close friend is sick.

so sad, hopefully he will be lucky and survive this, but it's very hard to deal with alone but with all the media as well-ugh.

i am really sorry. dyrty dancing is one of my favorite movies. I know that is one of the worst kind of cancer. it should be one person right to make public or not this kind of news, even if they are famous.

good update! that makes me feel a little better for the time being! hopefully this outpour of support helps him through this! i was in love with him when dirty dancing came out. still am.
