Madonna looks ready to kick some ass in April's Interview! The almost 50-year-old pop icon is showing off her super-toned body while sporting some sexy boxing gear. She is about to hit the promo road for her new album, Hard Candy, and we can't wait to get our hands on it. In the article, M talks about her kids, working with JT, and her thoughts on freedom. Here are highlights:
- On working with Justin: "I really enjoy writing with Justin . . . We had psychoanalytic sessions whenever we wrote songs first. We'd sit down and we'd start talking about situations. And then we'd start talking about issues or problems or relationships with people. That was the only way, because you know, writing together with somebody is very intimate . . . that was fun, because he's open and he's got talent. He's a songwriter. I haven't worked with a lot of songwriters where I'm instantly connected and start riffing and playing with the rhythm of the words. He's as interested in the rhythm of the words as the meaning of the words."
- On freedom: "Freedom is a funny word because when we think we're free, we're not really. I think freedom is quite illusory . . . When I stop thinking about myself all the time and put other people before me on a regular basis, that's real freedom. When I can love unconditionally . . . then that's real freedom. So it's something to strive for, but I'm not free."
To see what she had to say about her kids, just read more
- On bringing Lourdes to Malawi: "She spent several weeks working in the orphanages, particularly one with newborn children, and most of them were HIV-positive. She so came into her own and was so responsible and stayed for eight hours every day and worked tirelessly. I thought, why am I babying her so much? She's capable of so much more. We don't let kids do anything. We think, Oh, they're kids — they can't take care of other kids; they can't do this; they can't do that. And after you go to Africa, you drop all that silliness."
- On adopting David: "He wouldn't have lived if I hadn't taken him. It's not even a possibility."
Sometimes it's still hard to believe that Madonna is both a pop legend and a full-time super-mom. This is one woman who continues to impress us year after year.

Looking at her you wouldn't think she's in her 50's!!
1Wow. She really terrifies me.
2Im sure I am the only one...but i just dont get the facination with her!
3hot!
4She's a freakin' egomaniac with a lot of money. She just thinks she is full of knowledge. I have to hand it to her though, her body looks great. But then again if I had her money and no matter what age, I would make sure my body looked like hers.
5she is so hot i like her alot!
6I love her!
7I admit- she does scare me. a lot. but on the other side of that I'm proud that she is so strong. she might come off as an egomaniac but she makes no apologies.
8I've listened her new son with Justin: "4 minutes to save the worl" and I must admitt I love it, very danceable but mmmmm.... a little but justinesque song with many voices and rough changes in tones...anyway i love it, I can't wait for her cd.
:)
:)
9there comes a time when the crotch shots should stop.
10I can't stand her, and she pretends to be this mother that protects her children from the same SH*T she's putting out for all the other children of America to see. Nice, sitting there with your legs gaped open, is a real nice thing for young girls to see. She makes me sick!
11I've re-read my message and notice MANY ortography mistakes, jajaja. sorry, i wanto to be fat with the keyboard...:S
12ok, more mistakes with the previous message, what if I read the message before post it??...I'm talking nosense...
13Desperate
14She's rockin'.
15Love her!
16Sarah, you are not the only one!
I wish she would retire already.
This is not aging gracefully. She is desperately trying to cling to the past.
17I think she's great.
18Almost fifty and she still feels the need to spread her thighs for the camera to get attention. Guess she hasn't learned much in life.
19never got her appeal
20I haven't cared for her since her wonderful book "Sex", YUK !
21wow - all her gym trips really pay off cause she looks GREAT there. i think that it's going to be a good album..she's got talent on her own and to think of the collaborations - that's going to be something cool to listen to.
anyone else compare this to the xtina 'dirty' video?
22You know, it's funny how she is the only celebrity (female) in that age group whom people seem to think she can do no wrong. If this were any other female celebrity, people would be telling her how "she's a mom now, she should put her clothes back on".
@ ilanac13 :: you're absolutely right, it does remind me of that. I'd almost be willing to put money on the disparity between people who hated Xtina for hers, and who will be practically kissing Madonna's a$$ over it.
23yes children are capable of much more than we ask of them but they are "children", and that's a time for not just learning but play and lightness. i think it's great that her daughter got exposure to where her younger brother came from, but she doesn't need to feel responsible for orphans for 8 hours a day for "several weeks". is she trying to turn her kid into angelina?
24Can't wait for this album. I've been a fan for 20 years and I'm looking forward to 20 more!!!!
25Madonna is awesome. I would love to look that awesome at that age. I'd flaunt it too!
26With botox and photoshop anyone can look good these days.
27she's apparently evolved but is still selling the same stuff. i guess supermom, while being admirable, does not go over well with the young crowd. i prefer when i see her acting her age, not old but fabulous.
28Seriously, she should stop acting like a teenager. Some people should learn how to bow gracefully and exit.
29psssshhh!
30when is she going to change her teenager style! HELLO u are 50!
I'm so excited for her new album! She looks fantastic for her age.
31See boys and girls, look what you can do with Photoshop and botox! Madonna is one the most pretentious bores ever.
32First of all, jeezus she's had a lot of work done. Secondly, pretentious much? Most importantly, thank gawd she's not performing, the audience will thank her.
33I hate to hop on the "hate" train, so I will just say that I have NEVER liked her & really wish we could just put her away in the pantry with all my other dried prunes.
She said Justin had talent! She, of the infatuation with the "talented" Britney, that she just had to kiss her in front of the world!! On the MOUTH!!! She of the legs wide open for all the world to gawk, she of the so high on her soapbox, Evita has been thrown out of hell to make way for her!
Just sayin'...
34she doesn't love her children unconditionally? wow...that's harsh.
35Wow, that's scary. Halloween scary.
36It will be interesting to see what she comes up with for the cd
37Love her or hate her, the woman has more staying power than the dopes out there like Britney and all the other talentless morons on the radio
38My Holy hotness! I love this B!tch. My idol.
39Madonna has made a career out of ripping off people. I see she's still at it.
40I like Madonna, too. That woman is very brassy, which I respect. She gets a lot of heat for being her, but she makes no apologies, and keeps being herself.
Physically, she's in incredible shape for any age. But given she's almost 50 years old, and birthed two children--more kudos to her.
Also, I think she's very smart. She knows how to keep herself in the media after all these years, and gets the public to talk about her. Great longevity.
41She looks great.
42I agree Coffy & Ginger, what's with the crotch shots?
43LOVE HER!!!!
44and she's heavily photoshopped!
45She looks good for her age. But please, put your crotch away. we don't need to see it in every photo.
46xtina dirty days, not pretty the first time, I expected more from someone who invented the makeovers in pop music
47not a fan
48good luck?
agree with uptown_girl
49That photo is so unappealing.
Coffy said “ there comes a time when the crotch shots should stop."
Personally I think the crotch shots should NEVER begin.
