The Waldorf-Astoria in NYC rocked last night to welcome the newest class of inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Madonna looked happy to accept the honor and while Guy Ritchie wasn't around, her Hard Candy collaborator Justin Timberlake was there to help celebrate. Fellow inductees include John Mellencamp and Leonard Cohen. Madonna didn't sing, but she did ask Iggy Pop to come and play which he did with no shirt (of course). On stage Madonna said, "Thirty-five years later, people are still encouraging me to believe in my dreams. What more could I ask for?" While Justin took a shot at a certain ex, "The world is full of Madonna wannabes. I might have even dated a couple, but there is truly only one Madonna." Seems a little unnecessary of JT, but congrats to all the new Rock and Roll Hall of Famers!
In typical Madonna fashion she kept things risqué even without any racy performance — she joked on stage about telling JT to drop his pants to give him a B12 shot and her past drug use including "smoking a joint" when she met her publicist Liz Rosenberg and taking ecstasy with a music exec after giving him her first demo. Yeah, I don't think 50's going to slow her down any at all.

Doesn't Madonna realize how bad her arms look?
1In that one picture, she is squeezing her hands together so tight (so it will make her muscles pop out) that they look somewhat deformed. You can't even tell her fingers apart from her other fingers.

12I just don't like how Madonna looks anymore, she reminds me of a weird crossing between a Stepford-type wife and a Soviet weightlifter. Her hair realy ages her, while her face is pulled so tight it looks like it hurts. As a style, she looks closer to 60 than 50.
As for Justin, I am surprised that he would draw attention to someone who is obviously going through a real difficult time in her life. It just seems very inappropriate and unnecessary.

I think Madonna was so original and different when she first hit the scene, I mean the girl had legions of girls following her every move, she was a woman who had been around the block, when britney came out there were parallels, the dance background and the idolization by teen girls, but for me that's where it ends. Britney was never a strong person and wasn't ready to take over the world the way Madonna was. Madonna had a plan from day 1, Britney was just the creation and puppet of some marketing head at Jive. Madonna was well over 18 when she put her first single( Everybody) out, she was very much an unapologetic and controversial artist, not a teenage lolita who didn't know what she was doing, but a woman very much in control. SO she had credibility that Britney never had the ability to gain. I was never a Britney fan and Im still not a Britney fan, I just never got her music( sure she had a few catchy beats thrown her way) but Madonna has written some of her own music,experimented with different music and genres and gotten away with it( Ray of Light was arguably a great album). Love her or Hate her she has made a musical impact she deserves her status in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, even if her most recent incarnation is my least favorite ( the hair isn't working and I never liked the Faux British thing)but original madonna the italian-american tough cookie from Michigan, was lovable because no matter what they said about her she stayed true to form.

wow, I was a HUGE JT fan until the last year or so, he's been really, really arrogant and full of himself. Taking a cheap shot at Britney? 44Oh and alot of R&B acts have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, b/c Pop is a direct descendent if you will, to Rock. Early Rock( for example Elvis,Jerry lee Lewis, Little Richard) would now be considered Pop music by today's standards.R&B was a precursor to Rock. It depends on what you consider Rock and Roll to be ( of course alot of people think Hair Bands,garage,guitars and Metal, but I tend to think it is broader than that), but Rock came after Rythym and Blues, Pop came from Rock. As much as Im no longer a Madonna fan( she is not what she used to be, loved 80's her though)I can see why she was inducted into the Rock& Roll hall of fame, after 20 years they probably felt she earned her stripes.Not that she's a rocker so to speak but most if not all the musical genre's are connected. i think they should give more country, Jazz and Latin artists a shot as well.I mean where are Willie Nelson's awards?
