raccoon-dog fur???
1Kevin Bacon is so cool, glad he's using his celebrity to help charities.
2raccoon-dog fur, does it really matter what kind of fur, he shouldn't be using any fur at all.
Marilyn Manson having a mid-life crisis? LOL!
Why is it that when someone says something about gay people, they're considered homophobic...but when people criticize Christians, they're considered "enlightened"?
3MM is crazy.
4shame on Jay-Z thats gross! racoon-dog hair! ahh i Love the girls next door! Good for them, if they are happy thats all that matters!
5tanuki's aren't really dogs, but it's still gross that he used fur.
::the platypus is proof that god has a sense of humor::
6Raccoon-dog fur was the same fur used on the Sean John line. Ick.
7Fur from any animal is bad. Stupid move in this day an age - real stupid. I'd fire who ever suggested it.
8Well if anyone else read the article, they would have seen that the manufacturers "thought" it was faux fur, but as soon as they found out what it really was, they pulled the articles from their line and took them off the website....just saying it helps to read the whole article first.....

Oh Hayden!
Here's the HSUS investigation page on this:
http://www.hsus.org/furfree/news/jay_z_raccoon_dog_fur.html
You can also watch the footage of how raccoon dogs are treated in China:
GRAPHIC!

If you support fur, you should see it, but brace yourself.
10Yuck they said it's often obtained from skinning the animal alive!!
11Holly is my favorite girl next door!
12Yeah Jay 100 problems and your hootie bootie beatch is one.
13A lot of fur in the industry is obtained that way, ccsugar. The way they treat these animals is just horrendous, they are born and raised in tiny cages and then they die horrible deaths by anal and vaginal electrocution and drowning. Sometimes the electrocution doesn't kill them and they wake up while they are being skinned alive. I have a BIG problem with this industry in case you can't tell. It just absolutely disgusts me when people wear fur because of what the poor things had to go through in their lives just to end up being what some consider fashionable.

Oh Hayden!
I. Washington SUCKS. I hope he gets fired.
15i did read the whole article, when you are putting out an item you need to do your homework better and make sure it is faux!
16faux sho, Sarah! Faux sho!
17I'm sure they thought more people would buy the clothes if the fur was labled faux, they can claim ignorance, but I don't believe it as real fur is pretty easy to spot, especially to those in the clothing industry. I agree that any fur is gross and cruel and Jay-Z and Diddy should both be ashamed to make more millions off of the blood of innocent animals.
Although it is not considered a true "dog" is is from the same family as dogs, wolves, and foxes. You can read about them on Wikipedia. Here is a Wikipedia exerpt on how they are used in the fur trade:
An investigation [4]by three animal protection groups into the Chinese fur trade in 2004 and part of 2005 asserts that there are an estimated 1.5 million raccoon dogs being raised for fur in China. The report claims that killing methods include first hitting the animals on the head with a stick or slamming the animal into the ground to stun them, but that "a significant number of animals remain fully conscious during the skinning process and started to writhe and move around." Video taken during the investigation [5] shows a raccoon dog apparently conscious during and after the skinning process. A 2005 follow-up article by the Beijing News[6] reports: "On this particular day around half the raccoon dogs and foxes were skinned alive like this."
18I really don't care about the whole fur deal. I think there are a lot of more important issues in the world. Once we have cured AIDS, Cancer and world hunger, I'll jump right on the PETA band wagon...as long as I can still have a leather jacket.
19Hugh Hefner having a baby at 80, that's just nasty!
20RCL, who's criticizing christians? did i miss something? and i don't believe in slamming any religion so i'm not endorsing criticizing them. i'm just not sure when that happened. criticizing any religion is awful, but *all* religions get criticized. christianity ain't alone
21Isaiah Washington needs to be fired!!!
http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?at343sh7&51
Petition to ABC to fire him.
22haha I remember watching the Girls Next Door episode where Holly reallllly wanted a baby and Hugh was avoiding it..yay for them!
23there is a difference between calling someone a faggot and having a religious difference of opinion. i am not sure how the two compare. boo hoo marilyn manson is having a midlife crisis, maybe you realized that your middle aged and still wearing makeup for a living. moron, he gets what he deserves.
24I agree with PoohBare, Except I haven't found a leather jacket that I like yet.
