Always looking to add another credit to his resume as businessman, Diddy has come up with a new idea to help the high level of celebrity DUIs in LA. He's planning to launch a car service that delivers drunk stars right to their doorsteps. We can think of a starlet or 2 that could definitely benefit from having a chauffeur, so tell us what you think of Diddy's car service — brilliant or lame?

You've got to be pretty drunk if you can't manage to call a car on your own and you need Diddy to be your babysitter!
While its true that most celebrities have access to car services, Diddy's idea is, IMO, a good way to help bring attention to the problem of drunk driving in general. He's not just paying lip service to the fact that drunk driving is wrong, he's trying to do something about it. Plus, like it or not, a lot of people are influenced by what celebrities do, and if they see or hear of celebrities making use of a service like this, it may help remind them that they, too, need to find alternatives to driving home drunk.
i think it's brilliant. diddy's famous enough that celebs would be flocking to use his service. hopefully the amount of celeb mugshots will now be reduced drasticly.
brillant!
lol
just have no words,lol
Yah, that'd be cool. I hope they have someone to drive the car back to the house cause that's really most of the hassle. It's true though, that most of these people can find a driver to bring em back, but whatever keeps them from driving is good.
Isn't that service already available?
It's called... calling a cab.
of course it's BRILLIANT! hello, at least someone pays attention to hollyweirdo.
Clearly, it's common sense to ask your cheufeur to drive you home (since all these celebs have one) or just call a cab. Since they aren't really thinking of it, I think Diddy came up with a smart idea. He'll be making money, make celebs more aware, and hopefully, less DUI's to come
love diddy!
Ridiculous. Celebs can afford their own car service or take a cab just like the rest of us.
Diddy will do ANYTHING for a buck.
Some celebs truly need this service. But YES it is already a car service out there that can do this for you. PLUS you can also call a cab. Some celebrities just feel that they above the law, so they risk other people’s life’s because of their irresponsibility and big egos.
This is brilliant. A service like this already exist in NY, LA and one is starting in Miami. The driver shows up to you and your car on a collapsing scooter that fits in the trunk of a car. They drive you and your car to your home or hotel then take the scooter out and go get the next client.
Yes, the service already exists...but if it works, someone life is saved!
Good idea from Diddy, i'm with Thorswitch and amers.. not everyone of them is gonna want to call a cab, plus people do still commit crimes and get away with it, better safe with Diddy than sorry, just in case
In a way I kind of applaud Diddy's effort, though I think it kind of think its going to be a major flop anyway.
If you have 3.5 million dollars to drop on a house you should have a few bucks to throw at a cab driver or a limo driver. Anyway, shouldn't this be planned prior to going out? Don't most people determine who the DD is prior to getting smashed?
Typo! I intended to write: "In a way I kind of applaud Diddy's effort though I think its going to be a major flop anyway"
It is a little lame and obnoxious, but brilliant at the same time. These celebrities are obnoxious enough drive under the influence then it's a match made in heaven. Diddy is a good business man.
can't these people just call a cab like everyone else?
of course celebs could just call a cab.. but only a great business man would see a common problem and find a way to cash in on it. brilliant!
knowing diddy's over the top style, he'll probably have all kinds of luxury vehicles.
Anything that gets drunk drivers off the road is not lame.
I agree debbie, I think that Diddy's idea is a little ridiculous, but it would help. As busy as LA is, I wouldn't be surprised if it took over an hour to get a cab.
I think its a great idea. Despite the number of services that offer to drive you around most celebs don't do them. I think Diddy is doing a great thing. More power to him. I think he would attract star clients.
They might have access to car services already but they don't use 'em! Maybe if they have confidence in a celb owned service they might actually stay off the road.
I can't wait to hear who uses it.
it's called a taxi
Just trying to get more attention... as always! ... And he definitely isn't the first person to think this one up!! Don't give credit where credit isn't due.
So... there aren't enough car services and taxis in NY and every other major city already? And I don't think I'd trust any of his people to take me anywhere.
Diddy needs to stop trying to be in the spotlight. No one cares.
I think it's brilliant but celebrities wouldn't call because they are too ashamed, they don't even take taxi's home. Let's see how it goes.
When I was in high school, the school district promoted a service similar to this for kids who got wasted or were with people who got wasted and were incapable of getting home safely. Since, I perceive hollywood as one giant high school, I don't see how this could be a bad thing. The starlets let their stardom and alcohol get straight to their heads and then their doing lame stints in jail and getting intimate with the judicial system. At least Diddy is trying to help the problem even if he's going to make a pretty penny in the process. Props Diddy!
I hope those who need it will make use of it.
Another business opportunity for the enterprising P. Diddy. I think it is rather ingenious of him to come up with such an idea! If nothing else, the guy is resourceful and knows how to make lucre. He may come off as pretentious sometimes, but I doubt anybody questions his business acumen.
It's early. That made me laugh. Great way to wake up.
My sister was killed by a drunk driver so I'm all for helping in any way to get drunks off the road. If a celebrity is more likely to call his service rather than a regular taxi, hey - go for it.
I think this is a clever money-makin idea. Celebs are probably more likely to go with Diddy's car service than a regular cab so if it keeps totally irresponsible drunken celebs off the roads, it seems like a fine idea to me.
P.S. Amelie074, sorry to hear about your sister. =(
brilliant concept, but no one will use this..it's embarassing for them
This guy thinks hes some sort of God to the music industry and hollywood in general...he doesnt care about other celebs and their drinking and driving problems...he cares about making money....puffy...piddy...puff diddy...PIGGY....whatever you call yourself these days why dont you stop advertising alcoholic drinks such as Ciroc Vodka first before trying to save the world of celebs from drinking and driving!!!!
Brilliant...very responsible idea from Diddy.
If Diddy can save a life or lives by offering this service, all the power to him.
if celebrities are so drunk that they'll drive themselves home, arent they too drunk to call diddy's service?
I think it's a good idea. Anything that gives tipsy (or totally sloshed) people another reason to stay away from the wheel of a car is a good thing in my book. And at the very least, it raises awareness of the issue. Plus, like scottdavis0676 said, you gotta admire Diddy's entrepreneurial spirit — I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a billionaire before age 50.
i think it's lame and diddy is trying to find another way to just make money and get his name out.. are you kidding me?! you're going to start a chauffeur service for RICH people?! hello? they can already afford it... i'd get it a lil more if it was for the masses - because it is a serious issue - but, for people that can already afford to get a driver but would rather be careless and irresponsible individuals who just think they're above everybody else to begin with? NO GRACIAS
Obviously anyone who voted lame has never lost someone to a drunk driver....
Obnoxious or not - it's brilliant. If he can help save one life, then it's a beautiful thing. Take a look around, folks. How many millionaire celebs are adding DUI's to their resume? They could buy a fleet of cabs to haul them around and many choose not to. So if one...just ONE drunk person chooses to use Diddy's car service for whatever bloody reason - then it is one less idiot on the road. That just might save someone going to a 4-1/2 yrs old's funeral like I had to in 1998.
I think it's dumb. If these drunk celebrities aren't making use of the car services and taxis that are already everywhere, why would they call his line? Because he's famous?
I think that everyone brings up interesting points for both sides, but I think Diddy is just trying to put his name on anything and everything and THAT is what is lame.
Lame. Celebs are such f*cking losers.
Brilliant! So tongue in cheek it's great. While Diddy generally annoys me, it's funny. And a good way to get drunk celebs off the streets.
Sounds like a good idea!!
!azúcar!
Ame
Anyone who thinks this isn't brilliant is in obvious support of drunk drivers!! WTF guys! He is making it safer out there for ALL of us and to the first comment, yeah of course they're incredibly drunk. They still can't make time to call their own drivers, that's why there are SO many DUI's!
