Eight years after the show went off the air, the CW is tossing around the idea of making a spinoff of Beverly Hills 90210. Nothing is definite yet, and the details regarding plot and whether or not any of the original cast members will be back are still sketchy, but we want to know — do you think a 90210 spinoff is a good idea?

Um, spinoffs only work when the show was/is current. I think it's too late and Aaron Spelling estate (CANDY, I'm looking at you...)is just trying to get more cash dollars off of a old idea.
1Nope.
2no..that would not be good. it ran its course..after the wedding. theres nothing left.
and i cant stand donna martin

4OMG I hate SPINOFFS!!!!!!!
Private Practice sucks compared to Greys Anatomy.
Joey was a failure compared to Friends.
Joanie loves Chachi, failed compared to Happy Days.
This is why you NEVER touch classic shows. It ruins someones view on the original show. Once in awhile a successful spinoff works, like The Jeffersons came from All in the Family. Great shows. However, both had different settings, etc. and you didnt even know the two shows were somehow related.
I loved loved loved 90210. But please do not ruin it! Its a cult-classic tv show from the 90s everyone watched. Its going to be The HIlls/Laguna Beach.
PLease no. Aaron Spelling is prob rolling in his grave!!!!!
5totally will depend how it's done....Frasier was a good spin-off, Joey - maybe not so much.
6I LOVE 90210 and its my favorite show ever, but I definately would not like a spin off. There is only 1 cast for this show!
7No, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO!
8I dont even see how it could be a spinoff- I mean who are they gonna be related to? Just make it its own show, its been too long for it to be a spinoff- I mean, Kelly Taylor and Dylan McKay all over again. Okay maybe I'll watch it!
9hell yeah! lets see the 90210 crowd in their 30's. maybe brandon owns the peach pit now, kelly and dylan are married, steve and what's her name have triplet teen girls, donna is a plastic surgery victim who left david for a bi-leveled eye man-wh*re (art imitates life too), and david is now with valerie
10i will admit I LOVED 90210, but bad idea what these 50 year olds going to play college kids, even when they were 30 it still was not believable
11lmfao lickety
12with some of the original actors, definitely. if anything it will be more entertaining than a lot of stuff already on tv
13I am so tired of the new trend of remaking or making sequels to something that was over years ago! It's just too late and people are over it!
14i was gonna say with out original actors it wouldn't even been a spin off- it'd just be another show.. like say the OC? same darn thing. now with some original actors? i'm not even sure they could swing it- they should just let it be! or do one reunion show with all the original cast coming back for their 20 year highschool reunion or something but just a one episode deal!!
15hell to da naw. Let it be, it was cool back then but I think its safe to say that we're over it.
16Hmmm..I dunno. Depends on how they do it. At least we know Andrea won't be coming back.
17high school kids sorry
18I'd love to see how they do this! But what they'd have to do is bring back at LEAST some of the original cast, have them being parents of their OWN pre-teens and teens and throw in some fresh new ones. Like Steve, he was adopted, so say he adopted a child that is now in high school. Kelly and Dylan are raising Dylan's little sister, who would now be high school age or even a bit beyond. There are alot of ways they could do this and do it RIGHT. Maybe I'm sick in the head, but I absolutely LOVED this show, and would be excited to see a spin off.
Just a though, I'm still hoping for a Buffy Spin-off. God what a total dork I am.
And *Radar* Why wouldn't Andrea come back?
19I say they leave it the hell alone! Don't kill it!
20Bring back the original cast and I'll definitely watch!!
21i'm a 90210 fan so i would check it out. we've been sitting here at the office trying to figure out what the concept would be. would it be Erin (kelly and david's half sister) or the donna/david w/ kids?
22I would watch the original cast. Bring back Dylan. Just don't play David Silver's music
23No no no no!
24I would love to see a spin off depending on who was in it.
25I won't lie- I would totally watch this! Well, if a lot of the original cast were on the show. They should bring back Brenda for Kelly/Dylan/Brenda triangle part 2.
26Uhh it has to be done very tastefully and either all new cast members or all new it would be weird if it was both.
I LOVED BRENDA and DYLAN awww oh and I hated Andrea she was useless in the show and ugly and old looking.
27No!!!
28I don't think so!
2990210 was a great show -- why mess w/ it? why don't they come up w/ some new ideas????
30I'm a fan, but that doesn't mean that I think they should redo it.
31It could be interesting but is it supposed to be a continuation of where 90210 left off or a remake of the original? I think a revamp could be cool.
32Nooooooo! Rob Thomas, bring back/finish Veronica Mars, not 90210!!
33I was heart-broken when the final episode of my favorite tv show, Veronica Mars, left us hanging and unresolved.
Please dont ruin the 90210 era!!! PLEASE let Donna & David be happy and married i would HATE to have had something horrible happen that would ruin what i have stuck in my head how their happyily ever after happened!
34The show only ended 8 years ago, so they couldnt have pre teens or anything... it just wouldnt work- I'm telling you if they have Kelly and Dylan have a 16 year old, I'm gonna sue because I was 18 when that show ended and I hate when they do that whole time warp crap on tv like on soap operas... You were a toddler and the next season you are 18...

37wow, my computer went crazy on that click! i apologize-
38There's no creativity anymore! >=/
39What a coincidence! I'm watching 90210 right now! lol
It would only work if it was at least some of the original cast. I would LOVE to see them as adults with kids and careers.
40Yes, but I agree with ElectroPopTart! No creativity anymore.
They did a kind of sequal of Degrassi why not for 90210?!?!?!
41I don't think it would be a good idea. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE 90210 fan!! I already have the first 3 seasons on DVD (season 4 coming out April 29! Yay!), even though it was a little before my time... because I was only 5 when the show started.
But spinoffs in general are just NOT as good as the original.
42Oh I agree with the no creativy thing too. Even on 90210 toward the end the storylines got kinda crazy sometimes, because they were running out of stuff to write... so I can only imagine how the spinoff would be.
43I never liked the original so I wouldn't want a spin-off.
44i will watch i may not think its a good idea but i will watch
45There are so many spin offs of this already (umm hello the O.C.)!!!!! Its all the same thing- watch incredibly wealthy and privilledged people act more srewed up and make themselves more miserable than any normal person could even imagine....LOL
46It makes one wonder what kind of idiots are running the CW.
Seriously.
They canceled Veronica Mars... which by far was one of the better "teenager" shows in the last decade.
Now CW wants to hire back the man (Rob Thomas)that gave them Veronica... so he can give them some ripoff of 90210?
Geez... I guess this means that Rob Thomas is not running Big Shots for ABC anymore...
47First Rob Thomas was rumored to be redoing Cupid and now this. Why, Rob Thomas, why?
48Leave well enough alone!! 10 years...leave it at that
49NO!!!
