Confession: we're not digging Isla's over-the-top costumes on the set of Confessions of a Shopaholic — the dress could work by itself, but the combination is pretty horrid. Luckily we don't ever have a bad thing to say about the movie's leading lady, who was looking adorable as usual from the neck up while shooting in NYC yesterday. Now that the cold Winter is almost over, perhaps we'll get another peek at cute Olive on the set with her mommy, this time in a Spring dress instead of her warm baby sack.

I don't like them all that much either. This outfit isn't so bad but boy they are giving her some awful costumes. Isla is still to cute though.
1the purple coat and red dress with those fur boots are astrocious.
just put her in the corner and she's all set.
yeah, that's right. i just said that borat's baby mama looks hookerish. lol.
and what is this movie about?! all the oufits i have seen her in are one BIG fashion don'ts.
2I wholeheartedly agree with you fashion run-down on Isla as pictured here...Was it for the movie, or was it her choice!!!???????? The lines and proportions of the coat and the dress with those boots and cacophony of color serves only to give me a headache! And a bad one at that.
What is up? Her fashion sense up until this photo you've uncovered seemed right on. If she recently hired a new fashion stylilst, I certainly hope that the media and those close to her influence a needed firing.
Cheers

Vster
3I like that bag in the pic on the right.
4why do i get a b*tch vibe from her?
5her bag is the saving grace on this entire outfit.
6I actually think the boots would be fab hot, as long as they're faux and a different color than pink.
7in the books, becky bloomwood IS over the top! that's what makes her so fun
she
loves clothes and buys so many- maybe she just gets overwhelmed! hehe. but i LOVE LOVE LOVE these books, sophie kinsella is a great writer. the only thing is that i wish they were set in
england not in new york, like the books. but whatever, hollywood is dumb sometimes
8and...did anyone actually READ the books? cuz i don't think you'd have the same comments if ya had...
9It's trying to hard to be Pat Field for Sex and the City. Nobody is New York or London dresses like this. No one with money anyway.
10Not sure if any of you guys have read the books(and if you haven't I HIGHLY recommend them)but her outfits are perfect for her character! They are exactly how you imagine her, over the top, a little gawdy, trying too hard etc. I love it!
11she is very cute. i like her. and she looks like she's a good mother.
12YES! i have read the books and that is just how she is! She has no sense of over the top and doesn't know when to stop. Im assuming thats why isla's costumes are so crazy.
13i am taking a wild shot and saying this is for a movie...maybe.
14I think she's a cutie.
15It looks like a scene from SEx and the City!
16Too much is apparently not enough.
She looks beautiful
minus the outfit, though.
17She is too cute!
I haven't read the books, but would love to (love Sophie's other books), and assumed that it was just part of the character.
18I read the books and I honestly thought she was a little classier than that...I know she buys everything she can get her hands on though!
19i too read the books and while I did not think she was conservative I did not picture her her outfits being so garish. I guess it is reader's interpretation. I thought she just had a taste for things that were a little extravagant (in terms of price of merchandise). like i can see the bag definitely but the combo with that the boots dress and shoes is what threw me for a loop.
20This movie is gonna suck. The actress is just not Becky. Plus the setting sucks. Why can't they ever follow the books?
21she's cute but fire the custom directer!
22oops *custume*
23not a REALY bad costumes!its like some parts are nice some are not! like they would look better in diffrent colors...but her last pink dress was beyond hideous.this new look is better!
24Yes it's over the top,
but this is how Sex & the City
that everybody adored was as well.
Maybe what we see in that frame
it works so much better on the big screen.
Also, we are talking about a comedy.
25Maybe we're supposed to laugh with the costumes.
I think she will be a great Becky.
THE TWO OUTFITS ARE HORRID, BUT ISLA'S ADORABLE! SHE'S MARRIED TO BORAT...SHE'S GOTTA BE COOL!
26OH AND THAT GUCCI BAG IS SOOO TACKY. SORRY I THINK BRAND WHORING IS SO 1999. EXCEPT FOR LOUIS VUITTON. THAT IS THE ONLY PRINT I'LL WEAR.
27Hi fortheloveofrock,
I agree with you; Isla always looks adorable & she seems very down to earth as well!!I
28I love seeing her with little Olive too.
If there's anyone in Hollywood I could like it would be Isla Fisher!!
She's a real cutie.
29that color combo makes me nautious...
30i luv her tho...
Has anybody read the Shopaholic books? This is SO NOT what Becky Bloomwood would wear!
31I read the first book and I don't get the "totally over the top" vibe from her. Besides, a trendy gal in London would not wear that. mayve the dress and jacket, but not with those boots (which aren't my taste but might work with skinny pants!)
32am I the only one who actually really likes this outfit?! yeah, it's a lot of bright colors together but, for some reason, it works...
33think i will hold judgemant till i see the film but this is not how i pictured Becky and she better her a Brittish accecent in the film cos that is who Becky is xx
34She is adorable.
35she really fits the movie!
36I don't like that it looks like her hair was made blonde.. She's so much prettier as a true redhead.
37I don't care for the boots
38This movie is going to be fun! She looks adorable!
39Love her.
40i think isla is ADORABLE and we have to rmember the nature of her character in the movie - so you can't really be suprised about her wardrobe. it's one of those things that just has tobe over the top to be successful. i love it!
41i absolutely love her. i don't get a b*tch vibe from her at all! she seems totally sweet and down to earth. but i guess you never know! i haven't read any of the shopaholic books but i've read a few of Sophie's other books and absolutely loved them. i've got to read the shopaholic books before this movie comes out!
42I've read the Shopaholic books about 3 times each, and I can say this is NOT how I pictured Becky. She liked expensive things sure, but she wasn't gawdy or anything... ugh- why must they ruin good books like this???
