Ben and Jen put on their best power suits to host an event for Barack Obama in Boston over the weekend. With John Kerry and Red Sox GM Theo Epstein in attendance, clearly the Garner-Afflecks know the Boston big shots. At the event Ben talked about "doing his part" to help Obama, but was happy that it didn't go to Kimmel video lengths. He said, "I think I’m just grateful [Obama] didn’t ask me to do a sexy YouTube video with him." He would, however, like you to make an Obama video. Jennifer also got up on stage to gush a little about Boston (holla!) saying that she would move to her husband's hometown "in a heartbeat." Awww, I can totally see Violet being a little Beantown baby.

thats nice..like this couple
1i'm sooo not liking this couple now. i don't understand why everyone feels the need to use their celebrity for the political campaign. ENOUGH WITH THE ENDORSEMENTS....
maybe i feel strongly cause i don't like obama, but who knows.
2ilanac you are not the only one, still love the afflecks
GO HILLARY GO
3LOVE Jen!
4This is a rarity for me, but Jennifer Garner looks really nice at this event...stylish, even!!!
but, maybe that's because I LOVE OBAMA...WOOHOO
PS: ilanac13, where have you been, Ben Affleck has been very vocal about politics for a while now...this isn't new for him.
5i think that any citizen has the right to endorse whatever politician they want. i'm a democrat, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying mccain supporter angie harmon on Law & Order reruns.
6i dunno, i don't like what she's wearing.. she looks like a hostess in a resto. but whatever, i like her. she's very simple.
7thats sweet!!! OBAMAMA!!! I really dont mind him or Hillary just as long as its not another george bush!
8I really like Jen and Ben and I am 100% in support of Obama!!! He just has the most common sense non-partisan approach that our government NEEDS right now. Enough with the bickering, let's get stuff done!
9Go Hillary!
10I think this is great. I think celebrities have the right to show their support for a candidate, just like all of us "normal" people do. I think it not only stirs up support for their candidate, but more importantly I hope it inspires people to be active participants in our government, regardless of who you support!
11even though i suppport hillary, jen looks AMAZING. so classy and polished. love her! (even if she is an obama supporter)
12They are so adorable!
13Its going to be McCain and Mormon Romney on the White House. The media bashes and manipulates all they want and are so biased with their reports but the U.S. is still dominantly a Christian-Evangelical nation and that means Republicans.
Wacko liberals in Hollywood will never be taken seriously.
How can some Americans adore Obama? Good for him disassociating himself from his Pastor of 20 years that is rascial against the whites, using his pulpit polically and preaching the white race and the Govt created the AIDS disease to wipe out the blacks and that America is behind 9/11. How cool the pastor says " God damn Americans and God damn America". Not cool at all!!!!!!
14I strongly don't like Obama too. GO HILLARY!
15Blackhole...in case you missed it, most churches in America are divided not only by religion, but also along racial lines. And where did it say that a church member has to agree 100% with their Pastor?
the only reason things like this are put under a microscope is because of Obama's race. Never I have seen people check into the religious background and affiliation of a candidate like they are doing Obama.
Please tell me, in the case of a dear Vice President Dick (less) Cheney, do you think his dearly beloved Pastor is Wyoming is reaching out to ALL communities and is preaching a "love the entire world" sermon...I doubt it!!!
16im right behind you sugar03 very much so, i will be banned from this site if i stated my real feelings about obama and all his attraction, with that said cannot stand him or what he supposedly stands for
GO HILLARY GO
17i can't stand obama. but i do love the afflecks! ben is flawless!
18when i saw the reports of Obama's preacher and the things attributed to him i was shocked. how can you preach the word and include hate?
19How can Jennifer be classy when she was preggo before marriage?
This election will divide the democrats, it will be racial war and it shows how ALL religion and ALL BELIEFS are very dangerous to those that are fanatics.
Looks like Marion Cotillard,Charlie Sheen,Maggie Gyllenhaal,Rosie ODonnell and Michael Moore are the harems of this Pastor by Obama.
Many stars that support Obama really need to research his background.
20Do they know about his dad? do some Americans forget fanatic Muslims and Al-Queda?
hazel im glad you wrote and not me either way i agree 1000000000%, please give us more because im to chicken to say it, and yes i admit it, im to close to platnium
21Hazeldewey,
you lost me when you stated that Jennifer Garner can't be classy because she was pregnant before marriage...Puritanical much?
I guess some Americans complete forget about homegrown militia groups (Timothy McVey) and those wonderful White Nationalist (preaching HATE from the pulpit).
22I have never been huge fans of the Afflecks. I do think Jen's outfit is cute and chic. I am hoping that Ben has the same affect on Obama's campaign that he had on John Kerry's. I am sorry. I do. Not a huge Obama fan either. Hillary 08.
23Love this couple, they are laid back, adorable, are hands-on parents, good citizens in that they actually care about politics & environment.
24who is a virgin now at days having a child out of wedlock, shoot i was not i still am not and im getting married 6/27/09, i guess im a wh*re, yes loves it
25all we are saying is, come on everybody, give peace a chance.
26on topic/ i'm not going to touch this one.
hazeldewey, you just made me laugh. what does his father have to do with "fanatic muslims and al-qaeda"? i guess i missed the bulletin about barack obama and his father hijacking jetliners.
27Barack Obama is not a Muslim. He never has been. In addition, he did not take the oath of office on a Koran, and he is certainly not a terrorist or connected to terrorism.
Are there still people that didn't get that memo? The "Barack's a Muslim" rumors were long ago proven to be false information spread by Hillary Clinton campaign staff, who no longer even work for her. They were lies of the ugliest sort.
Jennifer Garner's looking lovely, and Affleck much less like a tree stump than usual
28It's embarrasing to hear people imply or assume that just because someone is Muslim, they are either a terrorist or an extremist. It's really, really pathetic how ignorant some people are. And, for the record, I am not an Obama supporter. I just don't think there is as much substance there as they are trying to make people think there is.
29"It's embarrasing to hear people imply or assume that just because someone is Muslim, they are either a terrorist or an extremist. It's really, really pathetic how ignorant some people are."
Well put. It's actually quite sad.
30unrelated, but all dresses should have pockets.
31Obama's preacher has also said tons of things against Black people. He's bashed Black people the same way Bill Cosby did, hell put those video's up.
And truth be told, this country is having a hard time facing what went down in the push to go to Iraq and I'm not talking conspiracy theory, I'm talking about the fact that it was unfounded and we were sold a bill of goods in order to get there. This discussion needs to be had and screaming ANTI-AMERICAN is a way to drown out the discourse.
I won't vote for Hillary because she voted for this war and I never agreed. I find her disingenuous because she can't even own up to it, and I don't admire that in a leader at all. That means more to me than what some pastor at a church said, because it involves her direct action.
32Whoa!!!! Hillary Clinton's campaign had nothing to with information about him being Muslim being spread. The media, Fox News specifically, started that mess. Hillary would never attack someones religion. Come on.
33Lula, Hillary has owned up too. It not fair for Obama to keep pushing that she voted for the war, when he couldn't even vote to begin with. We don't know what his vote would have been. Just because he says now I wouldn't have voted for it doesn't mean that he wouldn't have. We don't know.
34I thought Ben was a republican. I guess its all one big popularity contest.
35Love Angelina, many of those Muslim rumors were spread because Clinton campaign staff in Iowa circulated emails making those allegations. I'm not saying Clinton would do that herself, but that her staff did.
Those staff members have since been terminated, but apparently the damage does remain.
36I love Hillary Clinton, I've heard her speak, and I've adored her since I was younger, but when it came to her vote for the war, I was just hurt.
I skipped class to watch that bullsh*t U.N. Security Council briefing, where Colin Powell was made to look like a fool, and the fact that elected officials used the information from that shoddy assembly to vote for the war, and Clinton was one of them, was a slap in the public face.
37GO HILLARY......'08. You want to hear something that saddens me, is in PA right now die hard republicans are changing their party to democrat to vote for Obma. Not because they like him, but to take votes away from Hillary because they feel she more of a threat to win then Obma.Since McCain is already locked in and because when it's time for the presidentual vote they can still vote for McCain.
38Information about Obama's background involving his father, his education and Islam was available online long before he was ever a candidate. So implying that Clinton's campaign is responsible is just as smearing as if they actually had. Let's drop it and talk about something that actually matters.
Ben Affleck? A Republican? LOL
39Amesabelle,
I was thinking the same thing: Ben Affleck a Republican
40LOVE ANGELINA,
With all do respect, it is fair. When it came down to her using her judgment and experience she voted for the war in Iraq.
Obama not being eligible to make the decision is irrelevant. It's a smokescreen argument. What he is pointing out is that her judgment ain't so great as exemplified by her track record e.g. her vote for the Iraq war.
41Ok Lula then you have to ask why did everyone else vote for it. Hillary wasn't the only democrat that voted that way. At the time Bush and his cronies made everyone believe that Iraq had weapons of Mass Destruction. I am standing by Hillary and even is she did vote for the war she did what she thought was best. We all supported Bush right after 9/11. We had all been fooled into thinking he cared. EVERYONE. So when Obama bashes a woman, the Senator from where the 9/11 attacks took place, I am convinced he doesn't even know what he is talking about. We don't what his decision would have been. He more than likely would have voted with the other senior senators and he can deny that all he wants but he is green and I can see right through him.
42Not everyone else voted for authorizing Bush's use of force in Iraq. At the time 21 of the 50 Democratic senators voted against the war.
It was a colossal error in judgment for Hillary Clinton to vote in faavor of the invasion and occupation of Iraq. I find that in itself sufficient reason not to trust her to be the president of the United States.
43Jude C the Clinton campaign NEVER implied that Obama was a Muslim or tried to slander his religion in anyway. I have never heard about such emails being sent from her campaign. If you ask me Fox News started this with his religion. However the Clinton campaign did no such thing.
44agreed loveangelina, wow i agreed
45AP Monday, Dec. 10, 2007:
"DES MOINES, Iowa - Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign on Sunday requested the resignation of a second Iowa volunteer coordinator who forwarded a hoax e-mail saying Barack Obama is a Muslim possibly intent on destroying the United States.
Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ and says he has never been a Muslim, but false rumors attempting to tie him to Islamic jihadists are circulating on the Internet.
"Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential Candidacy," read the e-mail. "Please forward to everyone you know. The Muslims have said they Plan on destroying the US from the inside out, what better way to start than at The highest level.""
Again, I'm not saying that Hillary Clinton herself authorized or agrees with those rumors. But several members of her staff did indeed play a role in circulating them with intent to cause damage to his campaign. That's all I'm saying.
By the way, nice to see that bit of detente
46What does her being a woman have to do with anything? Wasn't John Kerry taken to task for making the same decision when he ran in 2004? Hillary Clinton is being questioned based on her record, not due to her gender.
Also, not every senator voted for the war. Dennis Kucinich is an example.
Hillary Clinton as well as Bill Clinton, were very much supportive of the Bush doctrine. They weren't duped or confused, they agreed and there are tons of articles stating such to back up this claim.
For me, as well as a whole host of other issues, this made me decide against supporting Hillary and look more closely at Obama, who I didn't support at the beginning. I'm glad I started to research though and I'm happy with my choice now.
47Oh ignorance and politics. I really don't talk about politics its a very heavy loaded topic but, Billypresident Graham is affialted with an anit-semite, but this pastor goes and say how he feels about America and people and the media just drag Obama's name and imagine into it. Politics is much more complex that what your read or hear people..........anyway Jen looks great Graham made so many anti-semetic statements, and this man has been the spiritual advisor to so many U.S presidents. Presidents Ford, Carter, George H. W. Bush and Clinton. Its funny how when he was caught on tape having a conversation with president Nixon making anti-sementic statements no one called Nixon or any other
48sorry about that copied and pasted totally got messed up
49Benna -- Rush Limbaugh was urging republicans to vote for Hillary in Texas because they have seen the polls. Numerous polls show that if Hillary gets the nomination, the democrats are much more likely to lose in November.
There are so many people in this country that feel very strongly against Hillary and her husband because of their past conduct. (Note that Obama has never brought up the White Water scandal...but you can guarrantee that the republicans will if she gets the nomination!) She says she's a "fighter", and she is right. She's so into arguing that she can't meet anyone halfway. There is a reason that her healthcare plan didn't work the first time...it's too extreme and her personality turns people off. She's too agressive.
