I have a problem at work and I need advice. Something recently came to light -- a problem with some work done in the past that is now an issue and needs to be fixed. Several of us were asked if we remembered working on it. At the time I had a feeling it was me, but wasn't 100% certain so didn't say anything. I did offer to look into it to find out what should have been done, which I did.
Turns out my supervisor figured out what happened, but didn't give any details. I feel strongly now that it could be due to my error. I left a message with him (my supervisor) saying that I don't remember working on it but feel that it could be my mistake. I then said to let me know what I could do to help fix things (it is something that can be fixed, but would be a bit time consuming). I haven't heard back from him.
What should I do? I feel terrible. I feel terrible for many reasons (one, likley making a mistake, two making a mistake at work, three not saying something right away, etc).
