Winona Ryder stepped out to go grocery shopping in LA yesterday, amid yet another rumor that she was caught shoplifting. Whoops! According to the National Enquirer (I know, I know), Ryder got in trouble at a Hollywood CVS recently when she tried to leave without paying for some make-up, which was mixed in with her actual purchases. Hopefully this isn't really true — or really was just an honest mistake. Call us naive, but somehow we'd like to think that Winona grew up and learned her lesson after the last incident. What do you think — do you believe that Winona shoplifted again?

Anyone who votes 'Yes' is an idiot. When she shoplifted, she wasn't very well. She got addicted to pills and was very stressed. Now she's better and she's even got engaged. We need a good comeback from Winona fast!
1I think she learned her lesson; the enquierer is just trying to cause her trouble.
2I don't think she's above not doing it ever again, although the NE is not a creditable source.
She never admitted it, but she always tried to spin it as if she was set up.
I think she's still on pills or whatever.
3I don't think she shoplifed. It's just the enquierer doesn't have any news and to them making up news is the next big thing
4who cares? it's her life..let her alone!
5NE is NOT, I repeat is NOT a credible source. when is someone gonna close NE, and TMZ, and others little by little..
6She was never did it again, after that I think.
lol... why is this so funny to me!?
7I think it's pretty idiotic to call anyone an idiot who voted yes.
First of all she was never sorry for what she did in the past, she was just sorry she got caught. It wasn't the "pills" that caused her brief lap in judgment, hell she took a pair of scissors with her from home to cut the tags off. She had it well planned and thought she could get away with it. She lied when she did get caught and said she was acting like a thief for a role she was rehearsing. She lied, lied, lied and someone steals for 2 reasons. One for the thrill of getting away with something, or 2 because they can't afford or simply doesn't want to pay for it. It has nothing to do with pills. The pills she were supposed to be on was Oxycodone and they work on the feel good receptors of the brain. Feeling euphoria, would not make you plot to go to a store and steal things, just wouldn't happen. She was just using that as another excuse. Once you start stealing and like the feeling, it is a very hard habit to break. SO, I honestly wouldn't doubt at all that she tried to sneak a few things out in the CVS. Im sure it's a possibility that the urge is still there, I would just hope she's smart enough not to make such a dumb decision again.
8How about we not get our info from the NA. They aren't real journalism anyways. The drama sucks. Winonna ROCKS!
9I mean NE...hehe...carry on.
10I think it's highly possible she would shoplift again.
11yes I agree, there's something shady about her. looking at this story reminds me of something my American Literature teacher told us once, and for some reason I never forgot it.
All liars are not thieves, but all thieves are liars.
So there you go, she lied and she stole. I think she'd do it again and lie about it again.
12" it got mixed up with her actual purchase" Mistake on the behalf of the store i think. Ive had that happen before. Buy a bunch of small items and some of them dont get scanned. No need to make a big stink about it, go back inside, make sure you SHOW them the items that werent scanned, pay for them or put them back, go on with life. I dont think shed make the same mistake.
13I miss Winona Ryder in movies. Remember when she used to act??
14Don't get the vehemence in some of these comments. Don't know if she did or didn't (wouldn't be surprised, though), but both of Johnny Depp's ex's have some problems, for sure.
15poor girl! love her!! she is sooooo not stealin' again! she dosent seem like the type to do that agian anyways.
16People often shoplift because they get a high out of it. I still like her anyway.
17It's hard to judge whether she would do it again or not, especially since we do not know her in real life...so it's difficult to predict whether she would. However, I do need a better source
possibly the place she stole from, a reputable newspaper..SOMETHING lol.
18I'm just saying (among other things) that is she did do it at the CVS, I wouldn't be shocked.
19is she did = if she did
20meh..I don't care!
21I don't believe it
22even it's true it doesn't mean she's a BAD person. maybe she just needs some serious help
23A better source! I mean, who can ever heal after break up with DEAR JOHNNY!!
24It always bothered me how she went to so much trouble to fight and deny the earlier charge, even hiring attorney Marc Geragos to try and get her off, rather than owning up to it and moving on. Because she seemed to be in denial then, and through sentencing, I think there is a high probability she may repeat the behavior.
25no/yes
no-its an unreliable source
yes-she did it once, she certainly can do it again.
26I said maybe but not b/c I need to hear it from a better source. NE has gotten a few scoops so ??? She might have done it. If she has issues Klepto's will steal anything
27Yeah, like Winona buys makeup from CVS. C'mon.
28This is from Dlisted:
A store employee confirmed that Winona took sh*t. They said, "We took unpaid items back and she left the store." Winona's rep denied the story at first, but said she would double check when the Enquirer told her an employee confirmed it.
29no i REALLY don't believe that she's done it again. she's learned her lesson. when i used to work at a high-end store in NYC a few years back, we always knew that she was a klepto and monitored it, but i think that she knows better. besides- if she was buying stuff at the same time, what's the REAL liklihood that she's stealing too? NOT VERY
GIVE HER A BREAK!
30No
cuz National Enquirer is so not!! reliable
and i think after all that she went through last time
she should have learn her lesson
31I doubt so, honestly.
32i wouldnt be shocked if it were true, shoplifting is not just for the poor white trash, its a national issue that rarely gets talked about.
Ive done it. it was really all about that "rush" of "i got away with it!" , i had money.
33I need a better source. If this is not true they should appologize to her.
34All I care is that I miss her in the movies.
I wouldn't doubt that she did it... Hell, even if the source is the NE... I know a lot of their stuff is bogus, but many stories do have substance to them, they just take them above & beyond... Supposedly there's even a confirmation from someone associated w/ CVS, so honestly, I wouldn't put it past her... Has she even issued a denial or any sort of statement?
35Stealing can be an addiction, so I wouldn't be surprised. I hope it's not true, but you never know.
36She should have NEVER done it the first time. And since it was the National Enquirer who initially reported it, then NO I will not believe it this time.
37no , i don't believe it , it the NE for god sake ,they always print stories that are not true.
38just because she's engaged and off the pills doesn't mean that she's less depressed or stressed. It's possible, i really hope not though she seems like a great person otherwise and shes an amazing actress.
39Don't blame the pills. She seriously needs help. It's a serious disease.
40YES she shoplifted!!!
The CVS employee was on the Howard Stern show VIA telephone and confirmed everything. The employee said that they couldn't figure out why the alarms were sounding off and they thought it was a malfunction she they almost just let her go, but that security guard made a joke, and said "Wait, I gotta make it look like I'm doing my job, do you mind?" Winona said "No", so they went through the bag and compared it with the receipt, there were over 6 item's in the bag that Winona had not paid for. Winona said she didn't know how that happened. When the guard told her she could have them, just go back to the register and pay for them, she said "No that's Ok" and just walked out.
So yeah, that girl still has major problems. When Howard called up the Winona's publicist and asked why is she saying that Winona wasn't even in the store when an employee confirmed it all took place, AND had proof because of a security camera, then her publicist back tracked and said "I need to talk to Winona, no further comments"...LOL HOW LAME!
Other news media is reporting on this now too, not just the NE. So much for the first poster who said anyone who voted yes is an idiot, looks like there may be another idiot that spoke too soon

she always KNEW better, that's the whole reason for her stealing, she knew it was wrong but liked getting away with it. It's a sickness that obviously she's not over yet. It's not like "OK I learned my lesson", that's like saying arsonists have learned their lessons and they won't set anything on fire again. True Kleptomania is a sickness that you can't just learn a lesson from.

Makeup is makeup. I don't care what Mary Kay tells you. You can get makeup that is just as good in CVS than you can online for $200 bottle. You're buying the name hon, not necessary quality.
Shampoo, the same thing. Look at the ingredients from a bottle of 0.88 cents VO5 and a bottle of $65.00 Jeneauve French Shampoo. They are basically the same. What matters is the Conditioner. That's where you might want to spend a few extra dollars for quality.
42yes the skank is a thief! I heard on the radio the cvs person talking all about it. If I were her I would have paid for the items and acted like it was a mishap. With her NOT paying for them, it looked like she wanted them, but only if she didn't have to pay.
Which........is what happened.
She's a mental case!
43Maybe but I'm sure it's probably a klepto type thing where she can't really control her impulses. It's hard when shoplifting is so easy but I hope it was just a mistake for her sake.
44I have to say no
45have to say YES
46Hollywood has a breed all their own.........who cares anyways!!
