Congrats to the happy couple who got married yesterday afternoon in Montecito. Seems like the punk pop star went for the traditional vibe when it came to her big wedding day. She wore Vera Wang (one for the ceremony and one for the reception), walked down the aisle with her father and had rose petals thrown at them after their 20 minute ceremony. People reports:

At the outdoor, non-denominational ceremony, Lavigne was walked down the aisle by her father, John, to Mendelssohn's "Wedding March." She wore a Vera Wang gown and carried a bouquet of white roses.
The couple said their vows under an awning decorated with white flowers in front of 110 guests, including family and friends from their native Ontario.
Once the groom had kissed the bride, guests tossed rose petals at the newlyweds as they walked back up the aisle.
After the wedding, guests were to be treated to an outdoor cocktail hour before the reception, including a sit-down dinner, under a tent on the estate. In contrast to the all-white ceremony, the reception will have a red theme, with centerpieces of red roses and other flowers.
The couple's first dance is expected to be to the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris."
Congrats to the happy couple.

good for them... best of luck to the happy couple...
1who wants to guess the 3 things i dont like in this picture?
2um... dress, flowers and groom....?
3Cheezy candle/flower things? That's on my list and the photographer behind them.
4looks like a beautiful wedding,
5it was more him, her, and the stench of punk margarine past its use-by date.
6Well, things I noticed instantly:
- the annoying 'Matrix' watermarks.
7- the candles. Burning OUTSIDE. On a bright sunny day.
- that 'razzi on the right snapping photos.
That looks so pretty! I kind of feel like good for her that she decided to go with what she wanted instead of what would be best for her "image".
8i agree, jenn... i thought it looked kinda sweet...
9weddings depress me. one day all my friends will be married and i'll be a sad old cat lady on Popsugar saying weddings depress me.
10weddings depress me.
MEOW!!!!
11You will not! You will be a wild and fun old married cat lady on Popsugar saying weddings depress you.
12iris? This song has been played too much I think
13lol no, seriously, im never getting married. is like a phobia. i have nightmares about it, beng dragged to the altar to marry the lead singer of guns and roses.
14Weddings depress me too and I already had mine when I got married 10 years ago. It depresses me that couples are so happy and put more energy into their wedding than they do their entire marriage!
15LOL, ok well that would be a nightmare for anybody.
16Just work Tommy H. into it and have him kick Axl's @ss!
17thats a good point crazylady
your not so crazy after all!
jennifer, he just had so much HAIR!
18OH MY GOD IS THAT WHY AXEL ROSE IS FAMOUS???????
19IS THAT HIM??????
I THOUGHT HE WAS JUST GENE SIMMONS WITHOUT MAKEUP OR SOMETHING!!!!
It's not the wedding that would stress me but the promesses you make there
20PP - shhhh. Don't tell anyone I'm not that crazy. My other personalities will get jealous!
21im still working on allowing my boyfriend to sleep in my bed - and we live in the same house!
22LOL cl.
im quiet......
23aw, pixie -- i can guarantee your 21-year old phobias won't be your 41-year old phobias... never say never!
24So what's up with not letting him sleep in your bed? There are times I'd like to have my bed to myself and kick dh out just for the space and covers.
25Ha ha ha, nope you'll trade them in for ALL new ones!
26yeah but axel will be EVEN GROSSER in 20 years!
but by then i might have brit anyway.
27hes just so hairy, i dont want the hair all over my bed..... and i dont want him thinking he can just wander in.....
the cat and i need our space.
and she doesnt shed like he does.
28I don't think that the woman on the right is papparazzi, I think she's just a wedding photographer.
29their wedding looks like it was beautiful!
30congrats to the couple.
31I have no intention of getting married either, but weddings in general do not depress me. Really, only two things about weddings I do not like:
- going to one.
- it is Greek.
I am half-Greek (1/4 Irish, 1/4 Scottish; seems my background is about as volatile as it gets, but surprisingly I'm quite introverted and mellow) and the weddings are just as you'd suspect - LOUD. Also, Greeks are very proud people and always want their children to marry other Greeks. My father fully expects me to marry some Greek guy. He's in for a rude awakening!
32well its nice to see a celebrity couple who dated for a while, were engaged for about a year and then got married..congrats to them
33I hope they have a long and happy marriage!
34Surprising normal looking wedding no fake rock chick elements at all on show.
35I didn't think anyone could have a more boring wedding than Keith and Nicole. Thanks Avril and the Gremlin for proving me wrong. At least there's no pre-born spawn with a silly name or a maternity wedding dress, not that there's something wrong with that, it's just gotten cliche. I hope for all you magazine subscribers's sakes there is only one pic of the gremlin and the rest are of Avril. I'm sorry I cannot refer to the gremlin by his given name because it doesn't suit him. Anyone else notice these pop girls that are supposed to be hot really marry some ugly guys, you got Christina and Humanzee, Avril and Gremlin, and Brit and K-Fug. I guess Jessica Simpson's next husband will be Gilbert Godfrey.
36i luv her dress
37its gorgeous
she looks beautiful
Who would of thought 5 years ago that Avril would of got married in a white flowing dress!! madness!
38Congrats to them!
39The ceremony looks lovely! It is nice to see a wedding happen after a realistic courtship period and with no baby on board! Congrats to them ♥
40PP, dear, I don't like the idea of blowing a small fortune on one frickin day. I'd rather spend it on something i...ahem...we can enjoy like a chanel bag, a trip to turks & caicos, etc. i'm not afraid of marriage necessarily. i just think it's stupid to blow so much money on one day and for other people to enjoy. frankly, i don't love my friends and family enough to buy a $4,000 cake or buy them $40/head meal...ALL of them at the same time. why? i've been to my friends weddings. they weren't exceptional. they didn't have fun. i didn't have fun. it'd be a lot more enjoyable to have a clam bake and chill with good music rather than avert panic attacks over the wrong flowers, the wrong song playing, the drunk uncle, etc.
41aww how cute!!!!! good luck!
42What a cute couple, I hope they last!!! Congrats!
43Finally, someone MARRYING first before having kids...now there's a new trend to be started in Hollywood!
Caligirl, I think that spells TRUE LOVE when a hot chick marries a not so hot guy. That's just my opinion, though.
44Aw they're so cute! I hope this is a good celeb marriage!! I can't wait to (hopefully) see pictures of the wedding!!
45PP you're a trip girl* the idea of marriage use to scare me like crazy!!!!! I was just having too much fun being independant, it's kind of half in half with the guys.,that's what I've learned anyway...everyone has their own opinion.. some men will be excited if you happen to make more money than them and they'll support ya in whatever it is you're doing, and them some will be jealous and want you to stay home and do the things you dread the most, basically be bored and obey....so it's frightening!~ Even if you plan to have a female life partener it can go the same way...put it this way, if you happen to find someone you are COMPLETELY crazy over and then after about 4 or 5 yrs you STILL feel that way....that's the marryin' type..........if not live happily single, nothing wrong with that* and your true friends will still accept ya single or not*
46FB, I guess it's love although Avril is not the least bit cute to me. It's kinda like a little mouse marrying a gremlin. MyOp, I'm scared to date anyone for over 2 weeks so marriage completely terrifies the heck outa me.
47i think that while weddings in general are pretty they are almost always totally boring/cheesy.
i know ppl who have gone totally Martha Stewart bridezilla on the big day to the point where they couldn't afford a great honeymoon or a nicer house...it is one day and ppl are getting divorced after 3 years...i just don't understand the romantics out there...
i would have thought their wedding would be a little punk but it just looks typical.
48Ethopian_Princess, you nailed my thoughts exactly! Why blow all your savings on a party (which is all the reception is people, a party) when the majority of your guests have been dreading having to go and spend money on a dress, hair, make up, gift etc for it! I don't go to many weddings but everyone I know who does is always *itching about having to go. IF and when I get married, I want to either get married on a beach at sunset (although lately that is so common it's not even special anymore) or a small country wedding in the fall.
49lmao @ comment accusing Deryk of looking like a gremlin! That is definitely a sign of true love when looks don't matter... funny how you don't see too many hot men marrying not so hot women though...
