David Beckham jetted from sunny LA to snowy London for a press conference and training session yesterday. He's gearing up for a match on Wednesday night against France in Paris, one that could mark Beckham's 100th cap as they say in the UK, which really just means his 100th appearance on the field. He would only be the fifth player for England to achieve the milestone, a feat Becks isn't taking lightly. He said, "I never thought a year, two years ago, I never thought I was going to make 95 caps, let alone to be here. It would be one of the biggest honors that I've ever had in my career." David's already got his own mini-entourage overseas to cheer him on, but we'll be keeping our fingers crossed for him back here in the states.

hmmm I'm not sure I understand. or I'm sure I don't understand... has he been in only 100 games? or 100 times on that particular field? please help
1Im not sure, all I'm sure about is how UNattractive he is. He looks like a homeless drunk at times. I know he has a following to many (ladies and men) here, but he's not my type and he's aging very poorly. That goofy pic of him just makes me cringe.
2I was thinking the same thing - he must have been in thousands of games... 100??? It must be a particular game. Popsugar - clarify!
3Hey all - David will be awarded his 100th International cap if he plays in the game against France, which means that he will have played 100 times for the England national football team. He has played hundreds of other matches for the different clubs he has played for, but playing 100 times for England is quite a milestone and not a lot of footballers reach that goal (pardon the pun!). Hope that helps a little!

Thanks
5uh really happy for him, hes no doubt one of our best footballers ever for England.
6o and he looks gorgeous in the second picture, yum
7thank you pop uk! you explained it better than i ever could! Beckham should have got his 100th time ago if it wasnt for Shi**y Mclaren....what an idiot! im glad they got rid of him!
8You're welcome, happy to help!
9I think he should be the Captain - it's a friendly, it doesn't matter much, and it is a convention that we respect centurions with captain's bands. But hey, Capello wants to be the big man. If he gives it to Terry I'll be furious - David is - whether he's been playing or not - at least as good as Terry these days. Especially when Terry plays for England. Also Terry is so arrogant he doesn't care about England and David cares so so much!
10congrats to him. Well deserved. He gets a lot of crap for being a celebrity but he is a hell of a footballer.
I should point out though Pop Sugar USA, we use the term 'CAP' here also. As in Landon Donovan is about to get 100 Caps also for the US and he is only 26...just sayin'
11macneil: you are so right. Terry has a major attitude problem. I don't support the 3 Lions but he isn't a proper captain.
He shouldn't even be captain of Chelsea Michael Ballack should. He is the captain for Germany after all who, lets be honest here, are light years better than England. (yes, I support Germany after the US if you couldn't tell
)
12I think Beckham ROCKS!!! He's very handsome as well!

14yay for him! and to think that had he not injured himself he would have been there a bit ago. good for him though - he's a soccer icon...

16Oh MY GAWD how exciting NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring on the Champion's League please, some real exciting soccer.
