I just don't understand how people can wear something that little animals are beaten and killed for just so they can look fashionable and cool.

I think fur is generally bad becauseof the animals used. Meat and leather are from cows and pigs where the entire animal is used. Fur coats are usually made from minks, racoon, dog, etc. and the animal is killed and skinned specifically for that reason. Sometimes it will take 30 or 40 animals to make one coat and there you have a pile of skinned animals laying there that lived their entire lives in cages. Not a pretty thought.

Ick! Fur screams "I think I am so much better than any other living creature (i.e. I have a superiority complex because)", which makes the statement false. At least it's a good indicator - like a big fat red arrow pointing at them.

I'm definitely not a fur fan and it's about the most ridiculous thing I can imagine wearing in a ski town, even at a Hollywood even like a film festival. I'm sticking to my North Face gear.

Completely against fur, it's not 'FAB' at all I.M.O, it's cruel and I fail to see the 'fabness' of cruelty.But to each his own I guess.Some (-most actually-)people seem to wear it to impress others, to show they have enough money to be able to afford what most can't.....I've NEVER been impressed.I find it utterly silly.

I think that with so many other options out there these days that fur no longer needs to be a first line choice for people to stay warm and in fashion. I accept Inuit tribes and other native peoples around the world using fur (and hides and bones etc) for warmth and protection from the elements, but I don't think that in developed countries where animals are bred for fur only that we need to still be using it. When an animal looses it's life literally for ONE persons gain it's a sad day. You aren't using it because you need to to survive or for sustenance when you buy a $pendy fur coat. You are using it because you want people to notice you. They can notice you in something synthetic.

I'm antifur because of the inhumane way the animals are killed, not simply because they are killed, inhumane treatment of animals and abortion are two completely different things, but that's just my opinion.

Now, as for fur, well it's clear the animals are living, breathing creatures and are skinned alive (among other horrid ways) just to make an accessory for some selfish human to wear and flaunt and show off how many tiny animals they can have sewn together for themselves. Okay, I love animals, believe in saving them from running loose and getting killed, BUT, and emphasis with the capitilization. Animals are a part of our lives. I doubt that all the vegans out there were born vegans, wearing faux, or knowing the difference.

Fur is a part of life. Now, I am not saying you go and kill an animal for the sake of a hat, but animals all have a purpose, some are to be preserved since their beauty is their purpose (tigers, elephants, et al) but minks, racoons, sheep, there are plenty of them for a reason.

I think fur it inexcusably cruel and disgusting and Tara lookslike she robbed Star Jones' closet. Of COURSE most vegans arn't born shunning animal products and fur, it's a choice made through education. One you've seen video of a fox or furry chinchilla anally electrocuted or clubbed till it is too weak to resist having it's skin and fur ripped off to make someone a coat...it kind of turns you off the whole fur clothing thing.

I don't agree with comparing the fur debate with abortion rights. I am against raising and killing an animal solely for fashion's sake. I am Pro-Choice when it comes to abortion because I do not believe the government should have the right to tell me what to do with my own body. These two issues do not seem to be related at all.

I think wearing fur is just wrong! The torture that those poor animals have to go through for you to look cool or pretty is just plain cruel!! How can one compare abortion to the fur trade!? The animal is skinned alive and then thrown to the side to suffer and die! The animal has already been born and can feel pain! I think it is just wrong and disgusting!!!

I don't care! I won't go psycho on people that wear it and I agree with some opinions in here...I eat COW, CHICKEN, PIG and wear leather...it would be highly hipocritical (sp?) to say that fur is crime if we don't stop doing other things that kill animals...
