Paris was still hard at work on the set of The Hottie and The Nottie today, while her staff of lawyers were off dealing with her legal issues. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that pesky little DUI back in September. That one margarita must have been a doozy. A couple weeks ago Paris plead not guilty to the charges and her hearing was scheduled for today. The defendant herself didn't show today either, but her lawyers plead no contest to the reckless driving charges because apparently she'd "rather fold than fight."
Paris will have to complete 36 months of probation, pay a whopping $390 fine (seriously, why do they even bother?), and attend an alcohol education program. If she wants to lower her probation time to 24 months she can do so by completing 40 hours of community service. Now all we need is for Nicole to get rolling on her little driving-related legal matter and perhaps we can get the two in orange jumpsuits cleaning up the highway together. After being seriously injured in a bad car accident I just cannot pardon anyone who drives under the influence (I was not the driver in the accident nor was the driver of the vehicle I was in under the influence). I think this is BS, and there should be a mandatory loss of license, period. Ohsuri - - my husband joked that he was going to look into whether the army will sell old tanks to civilians after the two news stories about Nicole and Paris, I laughed, but I thought seriously about it for a second!

19OK if it were me that got the DUI, I'd be in hot water even w/a hubbie/lawyer. It's so annoying that celebs get special treatment. If there was a highway just for celebs, fine...but average people have to share the road with these people who put our lives in jeopardy by ignoring pesky little drinking & driving laws.

This ruling makes me sick! How come I know somebody (in Atlanta) who had to go to JAIL for 2 nights for the exact same thing?? His intoxication level was also the lowest amount you could have. Paris & Nicole should both be packing for a lovely trip in the slammer. Clearly they don't care about other people on the road - so do something to make them scared for their own lives!

I never post about Paris because I despise her, but this just isn't fair. A friend of mine got her license taken away for DUI ( my state has very strict laws about it) and had to have her hubby drive her to and from work, had to complete hours of community service and pay a whole bunch of fines. But all Paris gets is a slap on the wrist? That's terrible. What if she had killed someone? Justice is only for the rich and powerful in this country, and it makes me sick.
