wow that sucks for Isaiah, is it really that big of a deal??
1wow that sucks for Isaiah, is it really that big of a deal??
2oh sorry i went click crazy
3I'm so sick of Rosie. She slams everyone and then acts like a victim when someone stands up to her crap. I think Donald is an arrogant prick, but for the first time in my life, I was glad for that fact. Her hateful, b*tchy self deserved everything he said. I still can't believe how many people sided with her. This is her MO. Attack everyone. This isn't her first swipe at Oprah either. Screw her.
4Mandyjean, welcome to the ridiculousness of the PC environment. My friend is so sick of the victimizing his kid is taught because she is half black, for black history month, he is helping her write a paper on a famous black person. The person picked I believe is named James Anderson, one of the biggest slave owners and 'breeders' in US history. He was also black.
5Sandra Oh - Ugly ugly ugly woman
6well, did he use a gay slur?
::the platypus is proof that god has a sense of humor::
7Rosie is a losing it!! I think it is funny that Rosie gets pi$$ed off that American Idol makes fun of people but she is a comic for a living. Give me a break. She insulted my SIL with her Ching chong ching comment but.. that is ok right? Rosie is a loser and Donald Trump was 100% right with his comments about her. *I can't believe I just agreed with him* Soon I will say TinyTom istall!! HELP ME!!!!
8Mr Washington is taking the right path. Smart PR move!!
SS.. YUCK!!! Someone still has sex with that? *Just threw up in my mouth a little*
This political correctness crap has gone way too far. You can't say anything about anyone anymore.
9It doesn't seem like a person can say anything about anyone or anything without upsetting/offending someone. It's sad. What happened to freedom of speech? What happened to thinking what we want to think? This world has gone by the wayside (I'm holding back on what I really want to say, can you tell? No need to upset anyone) :-S
10A lot of people were upset with O's interview with the kidnapped boy's from Missouri, Rosie was just not afraid to speak out on it. I think Oprah's a good person but maybe in this case she should have handled things differently.
And as for Stallone's info on his sex life...did anyone ask him? This is just TMI and gives me a scary mental picture.
If Paula wants people to believe she isn't on something illegal then she should own up to the prescriptions she's obviously on. I know she has back problems from an accident years ago, and if she is taking meds for it she shouldn't be ashamed.
11Rosie must get off on starting fights with people.
12It's NOT OK to use racial, ethnic, or gay slurs. I can't believe people here seem to think it's acceptable.
13people jumped down kkkramer's and mel gibson's throats when they spouted ethnic and racial slurs. i don't think mr washington should get away with it.
i'm glad he's meeting with gay rights leaders, i hope he sees that those hate filled words are really hurtful and he stops using them. i would hope he makes himself into a good example for other people who think that slurs like that are ok.
gibson and richards (is that kramer's name?) doing what they can to make things right and that makes me happy.
::the platypus is proof that god has a sense of humor::
14I don't think it's acceptable to use racial or any other kinds of slurs (especially not the f word for gays and the n word for black people) but it just seems to me that people are OVERLY sensitive to people saying anything negitive whatsoever about anything. It's just gotten so touchy recently and I don't think it should be.
15Well,Isaiah said his comments in a public venue and considering he said then about a homosexual cast members who was IN THE ROOM, I think there is every right to have a sensitivity issue there.
16I thought they said he didn't say that word? I heard him say it at an awards ceremony...
17i don't think anyone is being overly sensitive. slurs are hurtful, period. i think it's nuts that anyone thinks that it should be ok for his cast member to just 'deal with it'. cast members are co-workers and had he said that in an office or any other work setting, he'd be canned.
::the platypus is proof that god has a sense of humor::
18I still like Paula, drunk/high or not.
19I don't think anyone here is advocating racial slurs. I haven't seen it here. But our environment has gotten entirely too PC.
You know what these groups do? They love when stuff like this happens. Because they use it to put their stuff in the spotlight. I have some pretty good gay guy friends. They HATE these groups. They promote the most ridiculous crap and use it to get on a high horse. It helps them get money. I'm so wary of these groups, be it race based, sexual orientation based, to environmental. While they may have started out with good intentions, it becomes about the money. They aren't interested in your time, they just want $$. I've seen them attack others and try to ruin them. I saw it happen with my company. Condemn this guy, fine. But this is so over the top.
Yeah, stomp all over Michael Richards. But allow Nagin to make his stupid chocolate city comments or Sharpton to tell "his" people the basically can't make it on their own. It's BS and keeps the divide alive. Women got over a lot of discrimination and the only ones that bring shame these days are the modern day feminists. Those women would hate the majority of the girls here, because we love being women. You don't see women in general freaking out all the time when we get stereotyped. And you know what, it would be kind of nice for b*tchy Rosie to go after the rappers that call degrade us, but it's not going to happen. Instead, she'll go after Oprah who basically has shunned this group.
When you can't be honest because everyone is so scared to be PC, you have a problem. Gay people are scared to speak out if they don't agree with the majority, because as my gay friend says, the last thing you want is to get a bunch of b*tchy queens on your a$$. His words, not mine.
20And what would really make me support this whole thing with Isaih would be for the gay rights group, the black rights group, AND the jewish rights group to band together, and put Isaih, Michael, and Mel together in an add and address ALL discrimination. You want to really make people think instead of adopting pet causes. If I was a part of the black rights group, I'd be condemning his butt right now. Then maybe, Mel can do a movie on how a jew hater (make this guy gay), gay hater (make him black), and black hater (make him jewish) get stuck on an island and have to overcome their crap to survive. The movie already has a lot of lead in advertisement. And Mel, if you see this, I want a piece of the profits damn it!
21In England they call cigarettes fags.
22the people who work for the groups you mentioned don't earn a lot of money. i know, i worked for a women's organization and an environmental organization through college. they don't like it when it happens but they are going to use the opportunity to bring the spotlight to their cause, nothing wrong with that. a non-profit is going to use free advertising.
if being PC means thinking before you speak, then so be it. public figures should know better anyways.
::the platypus is proof that god has a sense of humor::
23And reverse discrimination must stop too. Gay people call straight people some pretty messed up stuff. And even our Congress is for race based only groups...
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0107/2389.html.
What I don't get, is if white people did this, they would be racist. All of this crap has to stop. The day an advocate group froms that attacks these exclusive groups for THEIR blatant discrimation practice, as cravinsugar would say, I'm all in.
24I agree Miami Gal.
25Ahhh....I prefer to just read, lurk, and not touch this topic with a ten foot pole.
26Rosie is lame...she is just trying to keep her name in the media, and the sad thing is its working.
Isaiah Washington is an idiot...for him to actually say the word again has to be the dumbest shyt since Micheal Richard's outburst. At least Richards didn't get in front of the media a second time and say the shyyt that got him in trouble in the first place.
And please believe I am NOT saying Micheal Richards is any less guilty...they both are idiots as far as I'm concerned but Isaiah's arrogance really takes the cake.
27Sandra Oh ugly??? Hell no! I think she is absolutlely gorgous for some reason. Something about her, the way she carries herself, her smile..she's go a GREAT body. Plus she seems so real and honest. And she's a wonderful actress. I loved Sideways, her smallish role in Under The Tuscan Sun, Dancing at the Blue Iguana.. I love her.
28Oh yeah..the ironic part about her role in Under The Tuscan Sun was she was a lesbian and her girlfriend (who, I think, was only 2 scenes or so) was Kate Walsh, Addison, also on Greys! For some reason I never see anything mention that.
29BlueJeanie, the company I worked for was volunteerily dealing with an environmental group. When we didn't buy a specific brand of a system, they attacked us. I know people in the middle that pretty much could validate it was kick back city. I'm talking the big groups, groups like UCS. I also work for some legitamate groups and trust me, not all are bad. But the ones jumping this wagon, I seriously question. My point is that ALL discrimination is bad and it would be more admirable if the group attacking Richards for this would jump on this too. Again, this is about money. These groups would attack their own if someone got up and spoke about the promiscuous activity of gay men and AIDS, or the poor quality of fatherhood in general in black men. Look what they did to Bill Cosby? My uncle is dying of AIDS and it sure would have been nice if the local gay brand of THIS group in his community wouldn't have been so fricken busy teaching him how everyone is haters and to go express themselves after he came out. Real winners.
30Sorry again Bluejeanie, I should have mentioned there is someone in these groups earning the money...just not the people they have doing the work. Some of the biggest corruption you will ever find is in charity work. Right up there with our Congress...on both sides.
31I agree that our society makes bigger deal about certain people saying certain things. Words are words, and if you sit down and listen to a rap song, ( which I am not slamming rap in any way since I am a fan of a lot of hip hop music)some of the songs are FILLED with racial slurs, I do not see these albums being banned in the U.S.
I am not saying Isaah is a nice guy, he seems like a bit of a jerk, but I definatly think the issue has made into a huge ordeal , and if that is going to be, there are SO MANY other people that should be called out.
32IW was just telling the truth. I think ppl should leave him alone. A lot of ppl don't believe that being gay is cool - I so agree with IW and the other millions, that think its not so cool being gay. Btw, I don't know any gay ppl, but actors who came out of the closet.
33NON-PUN INTENDED.
There's too much mean stuff going on. People make fun of others for everything. They gossip about made-up stuff, and ridicule people for things they can't help. They say people are gay who aren't gay and bash them for it. The tabloids print lies to sell papers. They say people are breaking up when they aren't, that someone's baby isn't really theirs and other things that hurt people. I think American society has gotten really cruel. Maybe it's time to stop hurting people. Rosie has a big mouth and she acts like a big know-it-all when she doesn't know what she's talkng about. She should quit sticking her nose in other people's business.
34i watched that Oprah interview with the kidnapped Missouri boys. It was so sad. Poor kid looked like he was dying on the inside or something. I'm glad Rosie said something, or at least wrote a poem on it. Oprah has lost what ever it was that made her famous in the first place. she might do amazing things for people all around the world but why, WHY would you put a kid who has been through god knows what in the last four years on tv just days after he was found? Public embarrassment, way to go Oprah.
oh, and Isaiah should be fired from Grey's. Hateful speech should not be tolerated from anyone.
35Well, I have no problem with gay people as long as it isn't shoved down my throat. Long story short, my gay friend in New Orleans (has had only one partner in his life for over 20 years BTW) has been emailing me today, teasing me about something. Said he was going to make me a scarlett letter. I email back and said, ohhhh, is it going to have shiney thread and glitter? His response: "What kind of faggot do you think I am? Of course it does." Some people just need to chill out.
36This is NOT the first time Oprah has exploited children.
37I'm sorry, I'm looking for where Oprah Winfrey hog tied those kids and forced them to appear on television. I can't seem to find it. She offered to have the kids on the show, the parents accepted the offer. I see no exploitation. I think Rosie needs to shut up now.
38Oprah needs to keep her mouth shut, too.
39I watched the Oprah interview and she didn't grill him until he told all. There were some questions that were not asked because it wasn't the time or the place for him to discuss them. He only answered the questions he felt comfortable answering. The rest he declined to respond to. I thought his parents brought him on the show so he would only have to do one interview. You know that family has probably been hounded since he was rescued from that monster. If they refused to talk to any one the press would not have left them in peace. Now that they have done an interview maybe some of the pressure can be taken off of this family. Shawn has a long, hard road ahead of him. I pray that he is able to reclaim his life.
Rosie seems to thrive on conflict. She could voice her opinions in a way that would not put people on the defensive. I believe she enjoys the fight.
40Rosie starts too much havoc.
41Why should Oprah shut her mouth? She did a straightforward and professional interview with him. I'm no fan of Oprah, but Rosie's only pissed because the View didn't get him.
