Salma was ecstatic yesterday when she read her best friend's name during the Oscar nomination announcements. Penelope Cruz scored a best actress nom for her work in Volver. She was just as thrilled and sees it as a huge step for the Latino community which scored 16 nominations. She said, "It has been a long time coming, especially since millions of people speak Spanish as their main language in this country... It's great that it's finally being reflected in movies."

1already did mine. I had to guess on most of them. I think Pans Labyrinth is going to do well
2I saw Volver yesterday and was blown away. Penelope Cruz's performance was subtle but outstanding. It's gonna be between her and Helen Mirrem, who was excellent in The Queen.
