Jessica Alba is one busy lady these days. She has six films in the works including sequels to both Sin City and The Fantastic Four. Now she's caught the attention of Tom Cruise and he's signed her on to star in his new horror flick, The Eye. She reportedly signed a $4 million deal to star in the remake of the Hong Kong film Jian Gui. In the American version she will play a woman who receives an eye transplant that allows her to see into the supernatural world. No word yet on whether Tom will also star, but he has taken lead roles in his past productions including War of the Worlds, Minority Report and all the Mission Impossibles. Sounds pretty promising to us!

She is losing her hair..big time! I've noticed this in several pictures of her, lately. She's probably not eating well. If you look at her hairline it's receding. She can't act. She's pretty and young and got lucky in Hollywood. Like most of them.

33It's a CHINESE movie. Sorry, I'm just so sickand tired of people saying everything is Japanese when it's not. As a sidenote, I don't know why they picked her for the movie, I don't think she'll be right for it. Mark my words, it will make a lot of money. It the scariest movie I've ever seen, no blood or gore, just plain terrifying. Rent it at blockbuster, they have it available. The Eye 2 wasn't as good.
34Jessica Alba is so over rated. Yes, she's very easy on the eyes. But am I the only one who saw Honey, Into the Blue and the Fantastic Four, and thought she really truly cannot act? Mind you, I only went to see those flicks because my guy friends all love her, but that's just because she looks good in a bathing suit. In my opinion, I've seen sock puppets put on a better performance than Jessica Alba.
The premise of this movie sounds interesting, but I can't watch scary movies. I'm still trying to recover from seeing Gremlins all those years ago! LOL

Its not a Japanese movie- its Chinese. Its pretty good- not that scary but its good. A really good thriller. The people who play the "ghosts" that she sees are SCARY. And there are all these little things in it that are scary that you may not notice right away. Like there is this scene where they are on a train and in the reflection of the window is the scariest face I have ever seen and nobody notices it.
Anyways this movie has a pretty good cult following and I think a remake would be the most horrible thing to do to it
36JessNess, I'm getting scared just reading what you've described! That train scene reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode where that guy is on a plane, and he's the only one that can see that scary thing flying outside of the airplane window. Creepy!
37I've seen the movie too. Very scary. Yes, Chinese movie. They speak in both Mandarin and Cantonese in it. I can't recall but they either way to Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand in it too. The original will be way better than the remake I bet. The scariest two parts in the movie for me were the child ghost and the elevator scene. After receiving a corneal transplant, this formerly blind woman now can see ghosts, but she doesn't know they're ghosts until later. She keeps being approached by a small child wearing a school bag(whose face you can't see because he's wearing a cap and always looking down) who asks her, if she's seen his homework anywhere. Later on she finds out from one of her neighbors that this child had actually committed suicide because of bad grades/missing grades. She runs down the stairs one night and she sees him again now knowing the truth and once again he asks her if she's seen his homework, then he turns around and jumps out the window. Whew! Freaky deaky. Another night she's in this elevator in her apartment and there's this old decrepit ghost man slightly floating that appears behind her. She knows he's there but she won't turn around and he's slowly slowly getting closer and closer. It's terrifying to see him get closer and closer and she's freaking out but she won't turn around and then bam! the elevator arrives on her floor and she runs out. Whew. Scary movie, don't know if I want to see it again, but really scary. If they put any gore in it or make the ghosts all bloody and fake then it won't be scary. They need to keep it like the original where the ghosts look like normal people, but something is just slightly off about them. It's a good movie though.

39Is it just me? Or doesn't anyone notice that her hair is thinnig? I agree she could not act her way out of a paper bag. It's very distressing that she gets paid so much money for something she completely sucks at. Only in Hollywood.
40i have always liked her sense of style but i think she looks like a fish. and ya her acting isnt the greatest but hello half the "actors and actresses" in hollywood cant act.
41I've never seen a JA movie. I make it a policy not to see TC movies, so if she does this, I will certainly not be seeing it.
