It was out of the ordinary for St John's to choose such a young actress to revive their label. Now that Angelina is a part of the fashion houses' family it was only a matter of time before her do-good deeds would rub off. The actress and clothing company are expected to announce a children's charity they will be partnering within the future. FWD reports:
Angelina Jolie loves children, that’s a fact. And to further show the extent to which she will go to alleviate their plight, the actress, mother, humanitarian, and face of St. John is on the brink of naming the foundation being created in association with the American luxury house in support of children’s causes. An announcement is expected to be made by the end of August or possibly during New York Fashion Week. Details remain mum on the project, but during the announcement, Jolie is expected to outline and green light several key initiatives over the long term that will benefit the yet-to-be-named charity.

st. john's was traditionally worn by older business women. more hillary and condi style. i think the brand did well because i assume the customers are very loyal to the brand. the quality is outstanding but it's just...old looking. it's definitely for the 50+ crowd, for those who don't take fashion risks.

11yesterday i visited my father while he was shooting a commercial with a bunch of models (he's a videographer) and he was saying how there is an element of freakishness to beautiful people who photograph really well; that preternaturally good-looking people always straddle the line between perfection and ghastliness. i definitely think jolie is an example of this. she is incredibly gorgeous (imo), but she's also kind of weird looking. her features are kind of super-sized -- the enormous lips, huge eyes -- if they were even a millimeter bigger, she'd be cartoonish.

28All I can say is any charity work done only and only for a good cause will pay off. If it is not done for a sole good cause, that will have tragic consequences. Hope Ange is collaborating for a good cause, she has always done that - so hope that will improve the lives of millions of kids living below the poverty line. If she is getting money out of this or if this is self-promoting campaign, then the end for her is near.
29I admire all the work she does in helping children, I think it is wonderful.
I think she is one of, if not the most beauftiful women in the world.

30JK BOOGIE, on this we are perfectly in agreement. Angelina is beautiful, both inside and out. What she's done for charity is huge and it boggles my mind when I hear people trash her for giving away 1/3 of her salary, actually help de-mine areas in Africa, and spend countless hours with the poor. No other celebrity spends as much as time and energy as she does. Sure, some of them send a check or two but she actually helps. Beautiful.
31I love Angelina!!! She is too hot! She is one of the most giving, down-to-earth people in Hollywood...a lot of people say "evil" things about her b/cuz of the crazy things she has done in the past.

Beth- I agree, her features are almost cartoonish, but they translate on print and in person as very dramatic. I think angelina has one of the prettiest faces ever. Her body is not the greatest, but I just love her face.

43Ok, I already posted a comment, but it is up for review, so if there are two, I apologize. I think that Angelina is a wonderful role model for girls, especially since she has had a "rough around the edges" childhood/teenhood. I know her mom and dad are famous and she was a teen model, but she has been very open about her problems she faced with depression and cutting as a teenager and young adult. She gives hope to those girls who are depressed, confused, suicidal, lost, etc. showing them that they do have a purpose in life, they just have to find it, just like Angelina did. I think it is great that she is bringing these problems to light and putting them in the public eye for us to see and do something about, not just putting it aside as something that needs to be done but will be done later. So I pretty much love her times 249843168751657654.

46I think she is going to become a classic beauty. She seems to just get more and more beautiful and she ages (and as she matures in her presonal life). It seems like motherhood has actually made her more peaceful. I am very jealous. I seem to have had the opposite reaction. But then again Brad Pitt isn't spooning me at night!
