Wow, good for Tyra! She has nothing to be ashamed about and it's disgusting that the media would pick on her like that. We obsess when they're fat, we obsess when they are too skinny- can't anyone just be normal? Why is there such an emphasis on being super skinny? Tyra Banks is just as normal as the rest of us...how many of you can say you are a size 2?

Good for Tyra. She is a tall woman and at 5'10 and 161lbs she is at a healthy weight according to medical standards. Im excatly the same hieght as her and almost at that weight (I have about 10lbs to lose) and it sucks that people see a tall and curvy woman and think she is fat. I think she looks GREAT. You cant expect a woman in her thirties to weigh the same as when she was in her early 20's

yayita, i agree with you, if you are going to judge a modeling competition you need to be in good shape. she chose a career that judges women on how they look and now she doesn't want to be judged anymore? i'm not saying that she has to be a size 2 or anything, i just think she should be fit if she wants to continue being on television.

I agree with both Jeanie and Yayi about her being fit but I also know that at being the same height and weight (almost) as Tyra if I ever dropped below 150-155lbs I would look super scary because I have such big hips. I say she should be at that weight but still be fit

i am happy that TYRA is speaking up and go against the media about her weight gain. she still looks good to me. also, i am glad she's sticking out for some of the skinny people calling others "fat". anyone can be "fat" and i'd still admire and adore them in every way if they have good hearts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way! Tyra is right on! She looks great and I will bet that a lot of men like her with more curves than with less. Young girls look up to her and when the press says she looks bad they are sending a horrible message to all those girls.

Also, why does she have to be thin in order to judge a modeling contest? Simon Cowell can't sing. She has the expertise that is needed.

Good for Tyra for speaking out! She looks fabulous, healthy, and most importantly, shows that she has a brain and a heart by speaking up not only for herself but many, many others. Nothing good comes from women feeling badly about themselves, and industries (fashion, media) built to shame women who do not fit some unrealistic "ideal" need to be pushed back upon by strong women everywhere.

elevenhounds- its not that she has to be thin but there is a hypocrisy in telling girls they need to lose weight and then complain when the media calls her fat. Yes I realize she is not a model anymore but if she wants girls to have a healthier body image then she needs to carry that over into ANTM too

Is Jennifer trying to look like Angelina? Her hair is much darker here, and that was her best feature. If she did have
a nose job, and injections in her lips I would not think she is morphing into Angelina. Alot of stars are having this done.
She might be ready to change her hairstyle, she looks good here. Jennifer is a very attractive.

I'm loving Tyra, Americus Ferrera and Jennifer Hudson breaking down those stereotypes. On that note, I can't take Moniques spin on "the big girls." I think she's irresponsible in her message about larger women. She never seems to encourage healthly habits.

Thanks JessNess, I did not read the story. I just heard rumors of Jen having a nose job. Lol, you know how those rumors go. If she did have some type of surgery, I think it is her business. Personally I think she has always been pretty.

Moniques Ph[F]at Girls beauty pagent was a disgrace. Im all for a healthy body like Tyras but Moniques show seriously did NOTHING for bigger ladies. All of those women were at high risk of a heart attack or stroke and that is nothing to flaunt.

Jen's nose is fine. Yes it is kind of big but she carries it off well. I don't know why the media made a big deal about it! I'm sure she had a nose job to reduce it in the past. I prefer jen than jolie but I do believe she had work done ( and by the way so did jolie ). Jolie's had her nose done and her boobs (huge difference between now and when she in Gia). If I were jen i would just admit it. I don't know why she's brushing it off the way she does. It's a bit disappointing really. I still think she's pretty...and sexy as hel l:)
