Kate Hudson has accepted libel damages from the British addition of the National Enquirer. She sued the magazine for claiming she was "way too thin" and looked "like skin and bones." The story ran under the title "Goldie Tells Kate: Eat Something!." This comes just a few days after the tabloid gave Britney a public apology for saying she and K-Fed are divorcing. Not a good week for the magazine.

"The allegations that I sued over were blatantly false, and I felt I had no choice but to set the record straight by challenging them in court," Hudson said in a statement.
Kate's attorney called the allegations "deeply offensive and embarrassing" to Hudson.

17i see both sides to this, tabloids need to make their money-celebs are paid to be scrutinized-its a hate/hate relationship, but its what keeps that million dollar salary coming in. but also, i would fight back on this one, because every celeb is a role model, and those that look up to Kate (i am a fan) who are younger and see that story would say "oh yeah, well then i need to be anorexic too"...i don't know, i see both sides but i think kate made the right decision on this one...britney, let's not even go there, how many tabloids said she was getting a divorce??
18kate looks good. some people are naturally skinny. kate's one of them. even though she's really skinny, you can tell she's healthy becuz her skin looks good and there are no visible bones or loose looking skin or looks of tiredness. people are born differently. when "bigger" celebrities try to meet a skinny standard they just end up harming themselves. i say, just try to be in your best shape. this doesn't mean being skinny. it means having a good diet and doing regular workouts.
p.s. i thought i heard kate hudson say she used to have an eating disorder. that after she gained weight from the pregnancy she felt really fat and wanted to lose weight, so she wasn't eating as healthy.

22Methinks they all protest too much. If you have to come out and say you don't have an eating disorder then I have to believe you probably do. I'm thinking of Calista Flockhart who said the same thing during Ally McBeal...I don't have an eating disorder, I don't, and yet now she admits she did have one. Same with Portia DeRossi, and Nicole Ritchie.

JK Boogie I agree with you. If they were saying she was starving herself,or something like that, I think she could sue. But to sue them just because they said she looked skinny? I mean, she does look skinny.
26I don't think she should have sued, the rags have said worse about other celebs and Kate Hudson is not really considered A-list, but she gets her name and face out there through magazines. I think this may come back to haunt her. Also she looks healthy now, but I remember seeing her not too long ago and she was really thin.
27I dunno about her suing...maybe she's got a real issue with young girls being anorexic and having a complex about their weight. I think if I were really concerned about that...I'd have a major problem with people saying I was too skinny....I just love Kate. I think she's an incredible mom and a gorgeous human being!
