I love Katherine Heighl. Isaiah should be given the boot. I like his character on Greys, but unfortunately hollywood is like a preschool. Examples must be set otherwise all the other celebs will behave the same way and get away with it. Sure, he entered rehab and apoligized, but what choice did he really have? His other choice would have been career suicide.

I love Katherine Heighl! She is awesome. I think Washington has to go. They already kind of set it up with him not being able to operate with his hand and all. They could just play off that storyline. Celebrities think they can do what they want and then go to rehab for 9 days and that makes everything better. It's becoming as much a trend as it is to adopt orphans.

Making Burke suddenly Gay after seeing how obviously inlove he is with christina would be an absolute mockery, I mean Grey's is a drama not a comedy, suddenly making a character gay would be too day time soapish.

I am probably one of the only people in the world that does not watch this show but seem to know what happened along with the rest of the world. I think what amazes me most is the fact that a gay person can use the same word to describe someone and it is OK because after all they are gay. The same could be said of the N word also very demeaning and my most favorite b*tch to describe someone you supposedly care about. We all need to think before we speak.

Maybe firing him is going too far but make him pay for it, I agree with ohsuri make him gay!

i'm sorry, but i just don't think what he did was a big enough deal to get fired. people do things that are AGAINST THE LAW everyday (drugs, assault, fraud, etc.) and still keep their jobs. i personally do not agree with his opinions or choice of words, but it is his choice and right to verbalize his thoughts in whatever way he feels. it's called freedom of speech and freedom of speech is not limited to just the right to say things that won't offend people. i also think katie heigl is an idiot for the way she handled the situation. she claims it should be something handled privately by the cast members involved and then she goes and opens up her mouth about it to anyone who will listen. just my opinion though.

I think this has been blown way out of proportion. I don't agree with his actions and words but as a previous poster stated, people do way worse. He apologized (although I am sure is not 100% sincere) and he got therapy. What else is there?? Firing him wouldn't change his point of view so what purpose would it serve?

Yes, he should be fired. If it was any other job, that kind of behaviour would not be tolerated and the offender would be fired. Maybe suspended without pay at first then terminated. But let me put this out there...how does one 'rehab' their feelings? I mean, you can do to rehab for addictions: alcohol and drugs BUT for not liking gay people? GIVE ME A BREAK!! Not buying it at all. Just my opinion...and as the old saying goes - Like A__holes, everyone has one. HAHA.

I like the show the way it is and I really don't care about what happens behind the scenes. I don't watch the show because of T.R Knight or Isaiah Washington. I watch it because it is a good show that tells entertaining stories. I like both Dr. Burke and George and if one of them were not on the show, it wouldn't be the same. The public should let them do their jobs and drop it

I was okay with letting it go with a reprimand when it first happened. However, that display at the Golden Globe Awards was just awful. It doesn't matter so much what we, the public, think, but if it creates a hostile work environment then he needs to go.

I think he has problems beyond the "f" word. Most people seem to have forgotten he was trying to throw Patrick Dempsey around and choke him while saying his homophobic bs. For that alone, I think he should be fired. His problems aren't going to be cured by 9 days of therapy.

His lack of professionalism has obviously made the set an uncomfortable working environment and he should be let go.

Maybe they could make him gay and then confess his love for George (if they would share a scene) or McSteamy. Or the chief.

I am not big on crucifying people.
People use that word all the time. I am not saying it is ok--but some people dont realize the power of thier words. I am glad he was held accountable and an apology was definately in order. The right thing to do is to learn from this and to make room for healing, forgiveness and coming together stronger.
I cant stand it when people want to make huge issues out of human faults just to stir the pot or for whatever cause.
On the other hand if he did not apologize and continued to disrespect those he works with than of course fire his ass!
I just think it is important to try and make good out of bad things and focus on that rather than who to burn at the stake next.

He should keep his job. If anything they need a mediator to help them talk this through so that everyone can feel comfortable on the job again. I think the way T.R. Knight handled it, going on Ellen was ridiculous. I also think Katherine H. sounded like an idiot saying she would throw down for him. And Sharon stone brought up another thing... she said she has been called a b*tch and much worse on sets, and no one was sent to rehab for it. This is overkill.

I agree with lindac, had this not been his first issue with the cast it might not be such a big deal. To me he seems like a cocky jerk whose head has gotten WAY too big.

I also agree maybe this isn't the most important story on here and maybe we should get over it, but I think a cast member disrespecting his coworker for his sexual orientation is a MUCH bigger deal than LiLo needing McDonalds and sex. To me this story is one of the ONLY REAL legitimate issues. The rest of it is just "her extensions look bad" or "Kate and Pete break up again'. I think this is a REAL story.

Seriously! Freedom of speech! We may not agree with what Burke says, but that doesn't mean he should lose his job! He is an amazing character!!! I'd rather see Izzie, George, and Meredith leave. They are such whiners! Especially Goerge! MAN, he gets on my nerves, he needs to grow a spine and some balls and start acting like a man!!!
