While I suppose you have to give props to any guy that thinks outside the red carpet box, somehow it's the more traditional dressers that end up looking the best. Just go with a suit and appropriate shoes (looking at you, Mayer), dudes, and you can't lose. Meanwhile, the red carpet got a little wild (relatively) last night when Ryan asked Mayer about Jessica. John answered in Japanese, challenging Seacrest to get a translator. Wanna know what he said? Here's more:
"Take it to another room, find a Japanese person, decode it, and you'll have an answer," the singer replied sarcastically before abadoning Seacrest to the crunky crowd. (Seacrest took him up on his offer, later revealing that Mayer said "She is very beautiful – and youll be the last to know.")
Okay, that's sweet and they're definitely dating. Pretty sweet, if you ask me.

5I actually think John Mayer was being his usual pretentious jackass persona. I have a friend who interviewed him for a legitimate article in a very legit magazine about his music (that's ALL she talked about with him - MUSIC), and he was so condescending to her. At one point he said "you wouldn't know about this of course..." and went on about musical theory, concluding with "I know that was all over your pretty little head." My friend has a Masters in Music Theory and it wasn't over her head, nor was he even correct. I just can't stand the man. He's not nearly as talented and brilliant as he thinks he is.

17I am fluent in Japanese and that "you'll be the last to know" translation of the statement is entirely incorrect. The accurate translation of John Mayer's entire statement is: "Jessica is a very gorgeous woman and it is amazing to be together."
18John Mayer seemed lik and A-hole to me. He just wanted to get his & Jessica's names mentioned and talked-about. Total publicity stunt!
