It's Beyonce as you've never seen her before. Unless you've ever seen any of her music videos from the Destiny's Child or Dangerously in Love eras, in which case you've seen her this way many, many times. In any event, she looks pretty hot in her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue photo shoot (plus, she's the first celebrity - not model - to get the cover), so Oscar nominations be damned! In the issue, Beyonce talks about why she chose now in her career to strip down to the swimwear. Here's more:
"It's fascinating how many careers it's made, or how many have been made of it," says Beyoncé of the swimsuit issue. "They're always so beautiful."
Though the 25-year-old singer has been asked to pose in a swimsuit before, her mother says she wanted to wait for the right time. "At every shoot," Tina Knowles says of her much-photographed daughter, "they always bring some swimsuits and ask, 'Can we shoot in this?' It's always been 'No! When it's time to do swimsuits, it's going to be something big."
Well, I'm sure there are more than a few men who are happy that she's chosen this as her time to strip down a bit. Plus one especially (I'm looking at you, Jay-Z) who definitely has a free pass to spend some alone time with the swimsuit issue this year.

35I am really surprised she was chosen for this cover. Although I will admit she is beautiful, I never thought of her body as swimsuit-model-material.
She certainly is no Heidi Klum and there are so many Hollywood actresses who have better bodies than her. But I guess with Photoshop, anybody can do a good picture. It is kind of disappointing, because you know it is all fake when you look at B's tiny bum and flawless tummy..

36I agree that everyone is photoshopped and she does look beautiful but I'm REALLY PISSED OFF that SI would PUT a CELEBRITY on the COVER! She even has the NERVE to mention about how many careers it has made. That covers turns models into SUPERMODELS. That was the last magazine not to sell out and put a celebrity on the cover. They have celebrity's inside all the time. SHE basically TOOK some girls career opportunity away by being on the cover and that is just HORRIBLE. She is ALREADY A STAR. Whatever model would have made that cover would have basically DOUBLED her salary - even if she had been on it before. I'm just speechless and plan to write a letter. I've always bought the swimsuit issue and I will not buy this issue because I'm so disgusted by this decision.

43Well I'm entitled to my own opinion and I'm sick of her. She lies about writing her own songs. She didn't write ONE WORD of LISTEN. OR ONE word of IRREPLACABLE. Yet she did TONS of interviews stating that she wrote both of those songs and even went into detail WHY and how she HAD to get it out and what went into writing them. When in truth she only contributed to changing the melodies on both songs so she could claim songwriting credit and get royalties. NeYo has come out and made it clear that he wrote EVERY WORD of Irreplacable and the people up for the Oscar for Listen - the woman made sure to mention that SHE WROTE ALL THE LYRICS! So she is forever tainted as a liar in my mind. I remember watching her interviews when she was talking about writing Listen and how she was inspired by playing Deena in Dreamgirls (This is before we knew how awful a job she actually did) and I was so moved and excited to hear the song. OOH she pissed me off with that. GIVE the SONGWRITERS CREDIT. Eat a piece of HUMBLE PIE while your at it.
