Of all the difficult relationships in Lindsay's life, the one with her father is quite possibly the hardest, but things may finally be looking up. Soon after she checked into rehab, Michael Lohan wrote her a supportive (and public) letter from prison. "It was such a welcome surprise,” a friend told Life & Style. “Linds was certainly touched and a little choked up.” LL is "proceeding with caution" but is "thrilled" to be in touch with her father again. We understand why she would be a little wary, but it's great to hear that rehab is working out so well and that she may be able to mend things with her father after all.

She constantly suprises me! I thought she would be PO'd by her father's very public letter, which struck me as being emotional blackmail since he wanted the whole world to read it, but I get the feeling she feels starved of love & affection & just wants everything in her life to fit back into place. I think she's emotionally immature, most likely as a result of having to grow up too fast (and having a mother who acts like she's 16!). Quite sad really when you think about it...

And as big of a mess as LiLo is, it really is no wonder, with parents like hers, she really never stood a chance. Wait...I just defended her...must go hang my head in shame.
