The celebrity baby photo market just keeps getting crazier, and the newest estimate is that the Jolie-Pitts could fetch up to $10 million for the first photos of their new twins. (Also, twins? I'm still not sure I believe that.) People supposedly paid J. Lo and Marc $6 million for photos of their babies, while Christina reportedly got $1.5 million. The whole thing seems pretty ridiculous, but we do love seeing the final product. What do you think — are celebrity baby photo prices too outrageous these days?

um didnt u andswer this question awhile back
but for brangie..i say no. they worth it to me..and thats my IMO!
1*answer*
2i think it's ridiculous
3i think 5 dollars is toooooooooo much, for any celeb for that matter all children are equal
4We will be seeing pictures of the kids for the rest of their lives. Why do the parents get paid for a cover shot? Besides, being rewarded (paid)for a picture of your kid misses the big picture - the kids should be reward enough.
5They are BIG stars...so yea maybe. Maybe it was a little excessive, but I think everyone wanted to see the pic once they heard.
6Too much indeed. But if they really get that and they donate it to charity, fine by me.
7I trust this couple not to profit from their childrens' photos but to put that money towards charity, so while I do think it's a ridiculous amount, I think it's a good investment and in this case everybody wins.
8"But if they really get that and they donate it to charity, fine by me."
i agree eveday.
9The Mags should offer to donate to charity in the name of the child or family. That way they get the pics and the tax write off.
10They reportedly donated the millions for Shiloh's photo-up, and $10 mil would be more than they gave to charity all last year, so for these two, you know it would be a good cause!
11Usually brangelina ask that the money get donated to a charity. So if the mags are willing to pay it, and they donate the money (and I get to see cute little twinsies) who cares how much the photos go for?!? Thats obviously the market rate!
12It's absolutely outrageous and disgusting. In terms of the Jolie-Pitts, I don't feel so bad, because I take comfort hoping the money will be donated...and I didn't mind Aguilera getting $1.5 million...that seems like a pretty solid amount...but Jennifer Lopez..eeeehhh. Now don't get me wrong, I love her, but she just doesn't come off as charitable, LOL.
13The whole concept of presenting your kid to the press for charity money makes me uncomfortable. Think about, its basically pimping your kid for charity. Even if the money goes to charity (or you pocket it ala J.Lo), you are still technically selling your kid. The bidding war over pictures of a child? It's just wrong. Personally I think they should abstain from the whole process. They don't have any right later to get upset about paps taking pictures of their kids if they are willing to negotiate a lump sum for the kid when it can barely open its eyes.
14I said yes (of course) but sure they would give the moolah away.
15Why do we have to put a price on everything?
I don't like the fact that celebrities are getting paid(and keeping) an outrageous amount of money to parade their children on the cover of magazines.
I do have to say that if the money is donated, then it's fine by me.
Whatever floats your boat though, I guess..
16Ekaterina ... you are right BTW. the practice in of itself is empirically weird.
17i think the j.lo baby pics were extreme, and i will have to agree with pinkprincess on this, every babies are equal so the photos shouldn't be sold that much.. but then again, they are brad and agie and we all know where the proceeds go to so i guess it's not as bad.. BUT i think 10M is a bit too much.
18i do think it's totally ridiculous...but knowing Angelina and Brad, they'd probably donate the money to a worthwhile cause...in which case, I think the more money, the better!
19I'm with you, eveday and tia.
You know, it's the market that's producing these prices. If the magazine industry didn't perceive a voracious audience interest in celeb baby pictures, they wouldn't shell out the big bucks for the pictures. They feel sure of making all that money back and more from people buying the issues.
I did think that the hugely disappointing People Magazine sales the week Aguilera's baby cover came out might put a bit of a curb on the baby picture prices
but clearly audience interest in the Brangelina brood is on a whole different level.
Anyway, as tia said, at least Brangelina will probably donate the money, so that makes it a bit less ridiculous when it comes to them.
20Angelina and Brad do have beautiful children (adopted ones included) but I always thought baby photos were something proud parents should want to show off, no money required.
That is an insane amount of money, but knowing how Angie works, I'm sure the proceeds will benefit a charity, and I'm definitely good with that.
JLo got less, but kept it all to herself, and I wasn't interested in buying the issue with her twins anyway.
21I guess, it really doesnt matter but IMO Brad and Angie are worth it because we all know the money is going to charity anyway. How about poeple simply donate that money straight to the celebs choice...you know like they do it Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.
22if they donate every single cent to charity. he looks so much like robert redford its scary
23At least Brad and Angelina donate the $ they get. In my opinion, they should milk the mags for all they can. Think of all the good that will come from that cash!
As for other celebs, it's pretty ridiculous. Do they even need the money? No...
24oh ok many of you have the same idea ...great.
25Crap I voted wrong.
For that couple? No, it's not. Give them 30 million and watch them give it to the needy people, not their pockets.
26You know they'll donate it. They don't NEED the money. I mean if the magazine is willing and i was famous and i had as much charity work i would too. I mean it's not like the magazines are going to give that money to a good cause. Might as well. more to go around.
27Way too weird to offer that much money for a picture of anyone.
28does anyone know if the jlo baby issue sold well? i don't think it did.
29You know, emlod, he does kind of resemble RR! That's funny.
30hell yeah thats too much! as pink says evrybaby is equal! this whole thing is getting out of hand now. However since there is a good chance this money might go to charity its not soo bad. Still ridic tho
31Since the money goes to charity I think the more money the better, I'm sure that AJ & BP laugh the whole time too, thinking I can't believe that people would pay this much to see pictures of our little ones, but the charities could always use more money and more attention.
32True Christina, true.
33What I want to know is how the hell did Lopez get that much money she's no where near the star that Angie is. blahh
34If the magazines are stupid enough to pay that much then fair enough. At least Brad and Angie tend to give it to charity.
3510 million! Good grief. However, thanks to Angie and Brad being the way that they are, the money will go to charity. I'm sure it floors them, that a magazine is willing to shell out that kind of money, but these two have made a way of creating a win-win situation. 10 million towards charity is definitely a win-win situation!
36Thank goodness it will be put to some good!
37I am not that interested in seeing the pictures of people's babies (celebrity or non-celebrity) just because they always kinda look the same to me and are just not that interesting.
I am more curious to know what someone's kids are going to look like grown up (whether it be family, friends or celebrities).
However, we dont really have that capability right now, IMO.
So, to me, $10 Mil for a picture of a cute, bald, pink, Cupie doll is a bit much, but then again I am the kind of person that if you gave me $10 Grand, it would change my life considerably for the better
38I have no opinion about the baby picture thing... but-
39Is it just me or does Brad Pitt look quite a lot like Robert Redford here? I'm just saying...
its things like this that makes me certain that Hollywood is ridiculous
40Agreed Le E, and it seems like everyone is on the same page here.
However, charity aside, it is still obscene and disgusting that a magazine could even AFFORD to offer that much money for some baby photos. Why they do it is beyond me... I've never bought a magazine too see some photos because you can just flick through the magazine in the shop, or if it's sealed you will inevitably see them elsewhere anyway. I find it particularly odd where newborn babies are concerned, they all look the same to me!
Anyway, as everyone else has pointed out, where these two are concerned it's practically a foregone conclusion that it's $10 million going to charity, and I can't say there's anything wrong with that.
41The price is ridiculous.
42I've seen the pictures of all of these high-priced babies (shiloh, max, etc) for free. I never had to buy the magazines.
We live in a crazy world, but as long as the money goes somewhere needed I'm all okay with it.
I feel Brad & Angie know that these picture prices are ridiculous, and that's why they give it all to charity.
...Marc & J-Lo on the other hand, kept the money, if I'm not mistaken.
43Btw, is it really twins?
Also, is anyone throwing her a baby shower?
Did anyone throw her one for Shiloh?
I cant remember.
44I think it's a ridiculous sum of money, but at least it will go to a worthy charity.
45"I've never bought a magazine too see some photos because you can just flick through the magazine in the shop, or if it's sealed you will inevitably see them elsewhere anyway."
That's a good point.
To be honest, I haven't bought a single US Weekly, People, OK!, or any other celeb magazine since I discovered Pop
and other online gossip sites. I'm just too spoiled by the frequent updates, instant access to the latest gossip and pictures, and the
fact that the online stuff is free and interactive, and has the same quality of pictures and reporting (or better). How can those magazines still afford to pay so much?
46Unfortunately we live in a society that loves to see pictures of celebrity babies. They can have photographers chasing them to try and get that first picture or they can agree to a deal that releases photos on their time line. I think it is over the top but because the Jolie-Pitts donate the money to charity I think it is better to accept the offer rather than allow photographers and magazines to make millions of their children. Other celebrities who use their babies to make profit for themselves I have issue with but you can't have one without the other.
47im glad and i know jolie and brad will donate this money, love brad
48j2e1n9,
Brad and Angelina were given a shower for Shiloh, I believe they had 2 or 3. I remember someone had stolen a camera memory card with pictures from one of their showers.
49I like jolie and pitt, but for other couples
(no hehe what
a shallow response..
