Jessica Simpson went out, but certainly didn't get dressed up, for lunch with Tina, Ashlee, and Pete in LA yesterday. It's the first time she's been out since spending last weekend at Cedars-Sinai with a kidney infection — which at face value seems innocuous, but there are always questions when mysterious hospitalizations are involved — and she is apparently "feeling much better." Sadly, her man Tony isn't able to be there and nurse her back to recovery, but at least she's got a furry friend from him to cuddle with.

Oooh, kidney infections suck. I'm not a big Jessica fan, but I can definitely sympathize.
1it was a rumor saying she was expecting..you know how that goes..
but i hope all is well with her..good better jess
2Kidney infections are often (NOT ALWAYS) the result of an out of control bladder infection. Bladder infections are often (NOT ALWAYS) caused by sex. I'd say, this infection is probably an indication that Tony and Jessica's love life is going great!
Did I just write this????
3LOL..sparklegirl..yep
4sweats are not evil, i'd like to be in mine right now
5I just had to say it out loud because it was the first thing I thought of when I heard she was hospitalized with this infection.
6no explaining is necessary..
but u do have a point.
7I was hospitalized with a nasty Kidney Infection years ago, and I had to stay for a full week. They SUCK, and once you get out everything aches for a while. She's probably wearing sweats because she's achy and really doesn't feel up to "putting on airs".
Glad to see she's feeling better, and I'm sure Tony sent her lots of get well gifts.
Good point about their love life Sparklie LOL I didn't think of it that way, but you're right!
8love her she is such a fashion icon
9I had several kidney infections and ended up with kidney disease and I was never hospitalized. I did go to the ER once when I was out of state. She looks like a hippie. As usual she has no style.
10she was probably knocked up...this is her second kidney infection
11Maybe she should drink more water more often.
12and less soda
13...less alcohol and a lot of other mess that they intake while living in California.
14I liked your comment Sparkliegirl, no need to apologize to us for your true feelings.
Now I hope Jessica is feeling better. But why are they making a big deal about her going to the hospital. People go to hospital every day over more serious conditions.
And that hospital in California gives out to much darn information when it comes to celebrities or people that THEY feel are celebrities. Now if the hospital didn’t give out this information, then Jessica’s people really need to stop informing the press about petty details in their lives.
I honestly feel that this type of celebrity behavior is so childish yet narcissistic... to think that you are that great that you need to let us know every little detail about your life...like we care all that much anyway.
I may wish some of them the best because they are human beings...but they go too far at how much they think we honestly care about certain events in their lives.
15dang jess, you gotta remember to take your tampons out before they infect yo' ass!
16i agree that sometimes these hospitalizations are a bit odd- but with jessica, we know that she's not partying or anything, and she's not the simpson that anyone would think would have a drinking/drug problem...so i'm sure this one is legit.
17Lizadilly!!!!
18pinknc i think its the hospital that blab their damn mouths, just like with dennis quaid and poptart
19I think that urinary tract infections are more from sex than kidney infections- of course I'm not a chick but my friend always gets a uti after a good lay
She would kill me for blabbing! haha
20Jess can't care that much about privacy - she got famous for doing a reality show!
21Lizadilly, please show some class.

23llanac13, Jessica? Not partying? Don't make me laugh. Maybe not at the same level as LiLo and Paris, but Jessica isn't an angel when it comes to getting intoxicated on a continual basis, and she has let it affect her work performance before. That it's just not on the same scale as LiLo and Paris is why it's not as widely reported. Also, most people know her star is on the way down.
24Yeah that comment was a bit much *Black Velveteen*
25in the second pic it look like she is rocking dreadlocks.
26I agree with orianna. I've seen lots of photos with her eyes rolled back in her head and her tongue sticking out. There were reports that she carried her own bottle of booze in her purse at night clubs.
27Papa Joe told her to cool it and she went into "seclusion" for a while. Some of those photos were on sweetkisses.net but some of them have been taken down including photos of her out with other men when she was married to Nick. I remember seeing several pictures of her out at concerts with other men when Nick was in Sweden and also the week before she asked for a divorce with Trace Ayala. She's not an angle like she tries to imply.
Urinary tract infections lead to kidney infections if not treated. Urinary tract infections can be caused by not drinking enough fluids, frequent sex with a new partner, and improper "wiping" when using the bathroom. (Urinary tract infections are caused by e.coli bacteria...)
Considering her new relationship, I would guess her kidney infection is the result of an untreated urinary tract infection.
28So what...Vanessa Minnillo goes off to spring break like a darn college student without Nick...so what's the difference? They both make it their business to make him uninvolved when it's *playtime*. I think it's apparent to us all what's going on...unfortunately some people, the right people, notice too darn late with women like these.
29Okay ya'll, I gotta give you a bit of a science lesson here.
Contrary to popular belief (even though I joked about it earlier) Sex, while it doesn't HELP the situation, isn't the main cause of kidney infections. Have you ever asked yourself why women get more of them than men do? There's a simple explanation, our bladders.
Men, because they stand up to pee, are more easily able to empty their bladders completely. While we as women leave a small amount of urine in our bladders when we sit to pee. This can become "dirty" so to speak and is what will help to cause a bladder infection. I was advised by my nurse, after getting out of A WEEK LONG STAY IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A KIDNEY INFECTION, to pee standing up at least once a week to ensure my bladder is completely emptied.
If you don't believe me, ask your doctor if this is accurate.
30Me too Sparkliegirl!!
31wow mykie but what if you dont know how to pee standing up
32
*Pinkprincess1101* I know I probably couldn't do it.
33*NurseBossyBum* is a nurse...I can't wait to see what her opinion is when she comes onto this blog. I think I'll believe her.
34Well I have learned entirely too much about woman parts today!
35I feel bad for her, that must have sucked. My friend keeps getting kidney infections, there is a name for it, but its not coming to mind right now.
36Repeat offender
37Your doctor told you to pee standing up? that's hilarious!
38Well, in the shower Pink. Just make sure you scrub it down afterwards! Okay, now you probably know more about me than you EVER wanted to. LMAO
39Actually, it was a nurse that told me not a Doctor, don't wanna get accused of lying later LOL And I welcome someone to back me up on this, cuz even though it was 19 years ago, I still remember the conversation verbatim.
40amidst the serious bladder discussion... i'm just going to point out that ashlee looks good
41A little anatomy -> The urinary system consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra so she does have urinary tract infection (UTI) (it's a very broad term that people tend to use for a bladder infection) Bladder infections can definitely be caused by sex, but what I see more often causing it is from not wiping correctly. Wipe from FRONT to BACK or the E. coli, which normally lives in the colon will travel to where we do not want it.
I
don't think I need to go into detail about that.
If the bladder infection is not treated promptly, bacteria may then travel further up, the bacteria multiply and infect the kidneys.
The best thing to do is prevent it - easier said than done. Drink lots of water, cranberry juice is said to have infection fighting properties. It always has helped me, with the first sign of a bladder infection I down a whole bunch of cranberry juice. Also, there are cranberry pills that can be purchased over the counter. Don't hold your pee, if you gotta go GO!! and do NOT douche. Dang douches. More trouble than they are worth.
42The point that Mykie made about peeing standing up at least once a week to ensure the bladder is completely emptied makes a lot of sense.
The first sign of a bladder infection and I'm all over it. Usually I experience the burning then a back ache, right where the kidneys are located. It's treated with antibiotics, if you don't go to the doctor you'll wind up like Jessica.
I have lots of 'personal' experience with this topic, unfortunately.
i still think she's pregnant
43Thanks NurseBossy!
I haven't had another UTI or Kidney infection SINCE my really bad one
(Knocks on wood), and pray I never do!
44Thanks *NurseBossyBum* for letting us know all that. Fortunately I have NEVER had one of these, so I can't say that I know how you ladies were feeling.
And I am not a fan of cranberry juice but I have been told by my mother that I should be drinking it anyway. I have even been told the same thing by doctors...that cranberry juice is better for us as women.
45Thanks nursebonny I've never had one either and I just called a family friend doctor and mykie and nursebonny are right about the peeing standing up but do it in the shower but don't do it over the toilet or you might get wet
46Wow, I love what this discussion turned into....
47rpenner, it's a public service we're doing here, think of all the uti's we've helped prevent! LOL
48Yeah rpenner we may save atleast one person a co payment from having to go to the doctor or hospital, mykie I had to investigate to back you up my friend
49Well I went straight to *NurseBossyBum* when we all got started. I knew she would know her facts about it, and would be able to answer questions pretty well.
