Ashlee and Pete Engaged!

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are apparently engaged! Ash has been wearing a promise ring from Pete since February, implying then that an engagement wasn't far away. The duo, who have been attached at the hip for the past year, confirmed the happy news via his website. They wrote:

THIS JUST IN FROM ASHLEE SIMPSON "We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us."

Us is already guessing that she's pregnant, but we'll definitely wait to jump on that rumor. In the meantime, congrats to the happy couple!

I like Ashlee and am happy they found each other. I've always had a soft spot for her ever since watching her on 7th Heaven. She finally rose above her Sister's shadow and she deserves it.

At first I didn't like them together because I thought she was trying to fit in with his style and be 'punk' or whatever, but now I think they are so cute together. I just hope their marriage doesn't end like her sister's Sad . Can't wait to see the wedding pics! Oh, and why does someone have to be pregnant to be engaged these days? Even though it ends up being true sometimes...that kind of pisses me off that people just assume someone's pregnant if they get married.
