Katherine relaxed with her fiance Josh Kelley after what could only have been a very stressful week on (and off) the set of Grey's. Just as things were starting to die down from the whole Isaiah Washington thing, lots more drama has popped up in its place. Apparently Katherine has dropped out of her contract negotiations with the show over salary (PR negotiating tactic much?). A source says she's upset that the producer doesn't value her as much as her other co-stars. To top it off there's lots more tension on the set due to the fallout of Kate Walsh getting her own show. Sounds like a lot of egos clashing these days. Here's more:
“The rest of the cast seemed instantly resentful of [Walsh],” a source told Star. “They each thought they’d be the one chosen to get their own show, and now they’re giving Kate the cold shoulder.”
The source adds that “Grey’s” star Ellen Pompeo “seemed particularly peeved because she felt that, as the star, she should have been consulted.”
The show has definitely changed since it first started but I guess that is to be expected of any hit show combined with an ensemble cast. I hate to see original cast members leave a show, but the way this group is making headlines there is no doubt that the entire cast won't last for many more years. Well, I guess we'll just have to watch them fade into post-hit doctor drama obscurity like happened with so much of the original ER cast.

I love Kathryn and hope that she gets either the money she seeks or a role on the spin off.

1wow.... this is so rediculous.. all of this.... GEEZ...
2i like KH and I'd be upset too. Did anyone see the trailer for Knocked Up? It's going to be this summer's 40-year-old Virgin!
3Why would Ellen Pompeo be consulted? She already has her own freaking show!!!! She's lucky she didn't get killed off of it!

5This is all getting so ridiculous and it's starting to take away from the show. Boo.
6it's not like she's been nominated for her work on this show. So why should she get extra money? And her movie choices aren't that great either- The Ringer was horrible and knock up doesn't like that great.

I think she is amazing but I do wonder if this is not a PR stunt........hmmmm
8Here is a good way to turn people off to a great show with all the drama.
9But Kate Walsh hasn't been nominated either, AFAIK, but I like her character and I'd rater watch her anyday over KH, who I find really boring.
OTOH, I am really tired of all of this drama surrounding them. The show isn't all that it used to be.
10good one redegg. i'm really bummed to hear they're all giving kate the cold shoulder. it's sad really. sounds like they have a show within the show.
11ridiculous
12That's sad, really, doesn't Kate Walsh's character seem like the easiest story to spin out? She doesn't really have a place any more without her respective Mc's.
This happens a lot, holding out on a contract for bargaining power... i.e. Friends, CSI Las Vegas, etc.
13On a very shallow note, she is gorgeous even when casual! No fair!
14These people are so ridiculous! They should be grateful they are on a show in the first place. I predict Izzy gets killed off soon.

If this is true, I hope these actors don't shoot themselves in the foot. It's the cast the makes the show and honestly I don't think any one person stands out. As far as a person getting their own show, it's about what story line would work as a spin off. They wouldn't take an intern and make a show about just one intern. I doubt this story is legit, or at least I hope it isn't.
16Maybe the show will finally end...
17I agree with some of the earlier posts that all this drama just takes away from the show. I disagree that killing KH's character or writing her off the show won't make a difference. Grey's Anatomy is an ensemble drama--I don't think it works without all of them (at least for the foreseeable future). The people responsible for Grey's really should rethink what they're doing with the show: letting Isaiah Washington get off so lightly, spinning of Kate Walsh's character, and now possibly letting go one of the things that makes Grey's so great--Katherine Heigl. And to be frank, the last few episodes have made me sooo mad at the writers for insulting the audience's intelligence. If this continues, I wouldn't be surprised if the viewership of Grey's drops dramatically.
18Like people said, this clash of the egos is so disgusting. I understand that they're all ambitious people but you're already earning a good chunk of money. The cast giving Kate Walsh the cold shoulder is ridiculous, especially Ellen Pompeo - b*tch, the entire show revolves around you, what more can you possibly want? And I so don't care about KH leaving the show - Izzie has become steadily crappier every week.
19Frankly, I'm really surprised that Kate is getting her own show; isn't it supposed to be about her as a ob/gyn surgeon? I mean, I REALLY don't want to watch a show that is CONSTANTLY reminding me that I need to go get a pap smear...
Also, its hard for me to imagine *any* of the characters of Grey's being able to hold up their own show- the magic of Greys is the relationships between ALL of the characters, not just one or two of them.
20Katherine was nominated for a Golden Globe for best supporting actor...just to clairify to the person who said she wasn't nominated for anythingr.
21That doesn't mean I agree with how she is acting, people should eb greatful that they are on that show!
Ellen should have been consulted because she is the star, that is so stupid, she is the most annoying character on the show. I do not watch religiously , but I have watched, Katherine's chracter bores me. I like Kate a lot.
22It's really dumb that they would be hating on Kate Walsh. It wasn't her decision to give her a spin off.
23I don't like KH or her character.
24another example of how greedy celebrities can be. i'm sure KH already makes more per episode than i do in a whole year!
25Good. I hate this show. I think it's so over rated. I used to watch it and now I turn the channel when it's on.

I'm sorry i love the show. I didn't think that KH was bad. She does annoy me just about every episode recently. But that's one of the great things about it. you don't' just love them all the time. Every other week you would like to shake EP. Personally I'm happy for KW i do like her character, but then what about McSteamy? I hear that KH is just like her character on Grey's. I just don't' like the High and Mighty attitude that she gives off and then get annoyed when people tell her that they think that she's wrong.
27You spin off a character who doesn't have a solid connection to the main cast of the show - that way you keep the strength and quality of your regular cast and hopefully springboard with the new show as well. Honestly. And Ellen Pompeo should have been consulted? Why? She's an ACTOR, not a writer or producer. I think they all need to shut the hell up and act.
28They're actually engaged now... That's the wedding I can't wait for! I love them both
29Apparently, KH is notorious for machinations in her bid to become the "star" of the show. If you were a Roswell fan, many, many rumors surfaced about her immature behavior behind the scenes when she didn't get her own way.
I really enjoy GA, but view the show as an ensemble piece--I never see the actors, just the characters. And it seems as though most viewers watch the show with the same mindset, so it's odd that some of the stars think everyone watches it for "them".
30I can't believe Ellen Pompeo would act like that. Just because she is the leading star doesn't give her power to make the producers and director of Greys Anatomy to check in with her. I love Kate Walsh. She is so much down to earth then the rest of the cast.
31This makes me sad. If they're all fighting they're going to ruin the show.
32yeah the way they are acting is prolly gonna hurt the shows success.
33This show is going down the tubes if you ask me. Last weeks episode was more like an episode of Passions than Grey's Anatomy.
34She looks cute, love the cardigan cover. The fighting will ruin the show eventually, which is too bad.
35Ellen Pompeo is not THE star or THE lead star. Where are you getting that from? Everyone on the show is A star of the show. The show is not named after EP's character. It's named after Gray's Anatomy, which is a textbook that medical students use. They're doing a little play on words, and spelling Gray's GrEy's, because of her last name. Anyway, why should Ellen have been consulted about anything? She's only one person, and she is not even that relevant. If she doesn't put a muzzle over that lemon- sucking mouth of hers, she's going to get thrown back into the ocean, and this time it's gonna stick. She could easily be written out. It takes some nerve for her to complain. I realize the show is based on her character, and I'm sure she's getting a boat load of money, so just be grateful and shut your trap, you whiny wh*re. That b*tch doesn't even open her mouth this much to eat food! Maybe is she stopped talking and started eating, it would do some good. She's still an ugly b*tch, though!
