Ryan Phillippe is promoting Stop-Loss overseas and in an interview with Britain's The Times Magazine he spoke about his breakup with Reese, paparazzi life with kids and growing up in a small town. This weekend he was seen doing his normal daddy duty things like buying shoes for Deacon and Ava. In the article he explained how his own aggressive reactions to the paparazzi have made Ava skittish of the cameras as opposed to this new plan to use the paps to advertise organizations he supports and just go about his way. Looks like he's got it all under control these days.

On his split with Reese:
“I fooled myself into believing it would be easier than it was. To have people speculating constantly about the state of your relationship, casting aspersions and telling lies... It took more of a toll than I was immediately aware of. When you factor in being separated so much because you’re working in different places... Not that I blame our no longer being together on that one thing. I take responsibility and she [Witherspoon] would also for the way we ended up going. But it didn’t help.”
On why Ava is scared of the paparazzi:
“She’s aware and it creates in her a lot of anxiety, which is partly my fault. When Ava was very young, I was young too. And brash. I’d get... I wouldn’t like to say violent, but visibly angry at the paparazzi back then. She was my first child, and my instinct was to protect her. I remember one time that I’m not at all proud of, I was holding my daughter and handed her to Reese and ran off to chase this one guy down and hit him. I would never do that now."
On his hometown in Delaware:
“So while there’s a lot going on all around, Delaware itself doesn’t have much of an identity. And I’d draw a parallel there with myself in the regard that I can go off in different directions, either as an actor or in my personal life, but that I am, I think, essentially unremarkable. I’m kind of Delaware personified. That having made some 30 movies I’m probably the most famous person ever to come from there tells you all you need to know.” His home community of New Castle is technically a city, though it has fewer than 5,000 citizens. “I guess that’s why I always had the drive to move on. Had I stayed, I think it would have been a very restricted and predictable life.”

5He comments on Reese a lot and Reese has never commented about him. It'd be great if he just moved on. Besides, wasn't it him who cheated on her? He should be the last guy to talk. However, I think that he's a great dad!
6I'm sure he's just getting lots of questions about reese since he's doing so much press for this film. I don't think it's wrong of him to talk about her, he certainly hasn't said anything bad. I think it's endearing that he's so open about his feelings on his divorce and relationship. and he does seem like a great dad!

10looks like the ice rink is the place to find them anytime you want. i'd be really annoyed if they stalked my family like that too. let the kid have her moment. as it is any freak can go to the rink after school and chances are they will be there.
11Love him. He seems to really have done his soul searching and is making decisions on how he wants to live his life instead of just reacting and going with the flow. He seems like a really good father.

17Not really. When she was asked questions she told them abit and then said ' she doesn't want to talk about it anymore' Why can't he do that? She surely didn't get critized about it. I think Ava looks like Ryan if you really get close up pictures of them and Deacon looks like Reese. I've looked at numerous pictures of them up close and that's just the order I'll go with. Yeah at first I did think Ava looked like Reese because she was always so far back and it only seems natural to say the mother and daughter look alike and the father and son. But trust its not.
Deacon will have all the girls when he's older! Without disrespecting them like his father!
18Oh yeah and another truly sad confession. Why is it that when he's seen with the kids its" It's so sad he can't hang with kids without being photographed blah,blah,blah" But with Reese its "She's using them for PR!?" Give me a break! I know noone on here as said that but I continue to see it around the web when shes pictured with her kids.
That is truly sad what the world is today and I pray for all the insecure ones. Just beacause she wasn't going around Hollywood telling her business that she cried and vomited surely does not mean she is not a good mother! People are very ignorant these days and I'm flabbergasted by how much.
~ I can only pray for this woman.She is very strong in nature i can tell you that! She has TOO MUCH patience for not coming out and telling the world what really happened. It's all really just common sense if you think about it but whatever.
