You know what that means..... E! is reporting that Ms Richie was hard at work on The Simple Life when she had to be treated for "dehydration." Here's more from E!:

Richie apparently felt ill, was examined by an on-set doctor and then taken to a nearby hospital. She received intravenous fluids for 15 minutes and was released.
"Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening," her rep said in a statement. "We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health."
Last October, Richie announced she was undergoing diagnostic treatment to help determine why she was having trouble putting on weight. Her rep said that Richie was focusing on nutrition and that she was determined to "achieve this goal in a healthy way."
So much for the double fisted coffee run. Seems weird that she would be returning to work that night. Why not just take Friday night off, especially when you have to be "treated." Hmmm, perhaps someone told Nicole it was NEDAW.

How can she go back to work the same night?
115 minutes? was it a freakin drive through treatment? how is that possible? my experience is that when someone is treated for dehydration the hospital does not release them until they pee and the patients protein levels are checked. this would be AFTER the iv has had a chance to get into their system. my 8 year old has been to the er twice in the last couple of months with this (flu) and she took a bag and a half of fluid (50 lbs) over about an hour and a half. it's slower because she's a child, but come on. something does not sound right here.
2uh huh - yeah.
3Really though how could she go back to work that night???
4That story is total BS. I am an ICU nurse and you could maybe get 50cc's of fluid in (which is about 2 ounces) using a regular peripheral IV line within 15 minutes without blowing the vein.
5I thought she was doing better and eating again.
6There is no way that she would be able to get back to work later that night! I suffered from dehydration from standing in formation in the middle of July in South Carolina two years ago and wasn't able to leave sick bay for hours. By that time I was so exhausted that I didn't feel like I was able to do anything for the rest of that day.
7She wouldn't be released after 15 minutes and she certainly wouldn't be working the same night.
8Oh, I totally understand what Nicole is going through! I have trouble putting on weight also. I mean, I never eat, and it's usually followed by "dehydration," followed by dizzy "spells." I wonder why this is?
9i feel sorry for her. trying to deal with an eating disorder is hellish, and i can't even imagine how much harder it is when you have people that you don't even know watching your every move.
10sounds like a combination of caffeine, maybe some drugs, and vomiting...........
11She must use LL's doctors.
12On someone in her condition, 2 ounces might be about right.
13yes im being treated for dehydration too, i did way too much of this, drank a little too much of that and drank no water. maybe i should go to the hospital to get a drink of water
14im just an orange county girl, living in an extraordinary world

It seems like when you have money there are a whole different set of rules for you.
1515 minutes sounds a bit suspect.
16this is my favorite quote "Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening,"
17Um what job does she have? Partying?

WHO receives only 15 minutes of IV fluids and then leaves the hospital.! This chick is
whacko~
19It's so funny how the weakest people in the 'fakey' part of wood......not so Holly..........all went over the top with alcohol and cocaine abuse cause hey.....everyone was doin' it.....and now the new trend is REHAB...........
20People are being so hard on her. Maybe the report isn't right or something.
21Golfer Girl I love your sense of humor
Man... when is she going to accept she has an eating disorder, I get really upset when this "stars" treat people like idiots, I would be so much better if she just admits it
22Its so intersting how celebrities suffer so often for 'dehydration'
23I get dehydrated every time I'm hung over... probably she was...lol
24
no way a person can go back to work after that.
25loser
26she should REST!
27~live well... laugh hard...~
and i thought she was getting healthy!
28I thought she was gaining weight? Maybe it was just really hot where she was working at and not getting enough water? OK, yeah, I'm just trying to make excuses? Who knows
29maybe she should try water instead of coffee. or "coffee."
30Nicole Richie is pathetic there's always something wrong with her why doesn't she seek professional help.
31"dehydration" bullsh*t
32She needs to be treated for bulimia not dehydration.
33This must be another publicity stunt, you know? She needs to get "real" help. . . not just 15 mins. in the hospital. Perhaps she can check back into rehab?
34It didn't take long for that 5 oz of liquid to dissappear from her body.

35Nicole needs more than just a treatment for dehydration, she needs treatment for having no personality and boniness.
36i never would have thought... with all the spit swapping.
sorry, i couldn't help myself. i hope she's ok.
37Oh Nicole.
I love her hair.
