The stars of Speed Racer had a bit of inclement weather to deal with on the red carpet at the movie's London premiere, but that didn't keep the smiles off their faces. Emile Hirsch, Susan Sarandon, and Christina Ricci did their best to stay dry with the help of an umbrella or twelve. Meanwhile, little Rocco Ritchie looked like he would've preferred to stay dry inside, but we give the family credit for braving the storm and reminding us all to buy Madonna's new album.

I happened to pass through Leicester Sq. the night the premiere was being held (while on a holiday in London) but before the activities on the red carpet got under way. It was freezing that night with wind and rain. I stopped a few moments and took a couple of photos of the front of the theatre and the very large, flashing, tv screen that had been set up out front. Lots of looky loos standing around and big trucks, equipment, security guards, etc.
As it would be another hour before Red Carpet time I headed to Garfunkels for some dinner and then over to the ENO/Coliseum theatre for The Merry Widow. It was WAY TOO COLD to hang out and see what stars turned up for Speed Racer. I figured that Lost's Foxy/Jack was off in warm Hawaii shooting the finale for the show anyway and would not be in London for this premiere.
So was the movie any good?
