Lindsay Lohan showed off her bitchface in LA on Wednesday night, but little did she know that this morning would bring something to actually be pissed off about. Before we get to that, some good Lohan news — not only is she in talks to appear on the season finale of Ugly Betty, but she could be back for way more in the fall. Anyway, this morning USA Today ran an ad clearly using LL's face to get attention, paid for by the liquor industry implying that while starlets need the ignition interlock devices that help keep drunk drivers off the roads, the rest of us don't. Lindsay's lawyer understandably outraged issued a statement to TMZ:
"USA TODAY is idiotic for running such an irresponsible advertisement, suggesting that drinking and driving is some kind of American "tradition" we should protect. Not identifying that this ad was paid for by the liquor industry is profoundly reckless.
Drunk, old, white businessmen, drunk cougars out for girls night out, and drunk wedding parties should be kept off the roads of America. Lindsay Lohan fully endorses ignition interlock devices that have been well-proven to save lives."
Sounds like a fun lawsuit waiting to happen. Using Lindsay's mugshot like that is clearly idiotic, but also getting the attention that they wanted. Now, let's just hope those drunk driving days and ways really are over for Miss Lohan who learned her lesson.

WTF????
1WTF???? is right!!!
An drunk behind the wheel is a drunk behind the wheel no matter their demographical information!!!

3Loves it
4I don't think it's "clearly idiotic" at all. Maybe an interlock device should be installed for every first time DUI offender, but that's expensive and cumbersome for states to enforce, so start with the habitual drunks (aka repeat offenders) on the road (and Lindsey, along with other Hollywood stars, is one of them).
5Girlfriend needs a lot more than an ignition lock!
6i think either pic shown would have had the same effect
7Um, in the dictionary under "Drunk Cougar" there's a picture of Dina Lohan....
8Oh right,
we should protect our right to drink and drive and ban the ignition thingie.
Good lord what were they thinking!?
Everyone should be protected from drunk drivers.
Btw -
to the headline on this one! It is my fav ever! Congrats!
9I can't believe they said "drunk cougars"! Did they have to insult middle aged women to make their point?
10This ad was in really poor taste if you ask me. I mean...its one thing to say "putting an ignition lock in every car made is too expenisive for the economy" or something like that. But to basically say "we have the right to drink and drive" is just insane and yes, really idiotic.
11I think it was done in poor taste and it's just wrong. As much as I despise Lindsay, I have to say that I think Lindsay should sue them.
12A friend of mine had one of those in her cars for 2 yrs. Part of her probation for having too many DUIs
13I can`t believe this, I mean...are celebrities the only drunk trainwrecks out there??? They are basically against the idea because they don`t wanna lose their percent of drunk customers....
14disgusting...
Sporky
15Craziness!!! I cant believe they did this...How tacky!
16I agree with Lilo's PR person.
17If I were LL, I would be callin' my lawyer so fast...
18That is incredibly tacky. Somehow it is not at all surprising though. LL has to realize she is going to be taking some uncalled for shots for quite some time, so she should learn to get used to it.
19I agree tuscanstellina. Although the ad is stupid, Lindsay is going to be the poster girl for drunk driving for a while.
20I think the premise of the ad is completely idiotic. To say that only young adults need the Interlock system? I watch business people get sh*t faced and try to drive all the time. To say that business people, or regular joes that like to drink when they are out with friends, are any better than Lindsay at driving drunk, or preventing themselves from doing so, is complete hogwash.
21interlock for everyone? wtf - there is such thing as responsible drinking and driving: I drink three beer (or two glasses of champagne) and drive; never had a problem with that. There´s a reason 0.08 promilles is the right threshold. So many people drive to fast, with valium, cannot drive properly, without their glasses - one beer or two shouldn´t be a problem !
22Even if you don't agree with interlock for everyone (I don't think I do!) it's really offensive to show a picture of LL saying she needs one, but, oh, these OTHER people can drive drunk! Because, they're just good, wholesome drunkards. Stupid ad. I'd def. be calling my attorney, they are just banking on the publics' irritation with Ms. DUI Lohan to further their cause, but she has done enough damage to her own reputation without needing their help!
23Quite frankly I'm sick of women getting bashed in this country. Since angry old men rule this country, I'm not surprised. They make the bulk of the money in this country and they call all the shots in the media. Women expire at 40 and become cougars while men trade them in for women 20 years younger and noone bats an eye. All I can say is keep your dignity no matter what your age and be true to yourself. Lindsay is not a role model and never will be. She will be lucky to live to her Mom's age. Her Mom looks very hard and she presents herself as pretty much a teen in an adult's body. Somebody forgot to tell her that she's not in high school anymore and you wonder why her daughter is so messed up.
24
shes finally put to good use
25justingirle you got the badgirl Madonna cover - those were the days back in 92 !!!!! Yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
26I think these should be installed in every car on the road. Seriously, how many seconds does it take to blow into it, and it could save so many lives. Just my opinion.
27accident happen in most cases because the driver drives just too fast - and it often it is a mother in a hurry bringing her kid to the kindergarden or the school; last week one of those nearly crashed into me, it was really close; it touched the motor hub with my hands: and yes: if a drink a beer and drive, I´m dangerous? I drive very responsible. My suggestion: prohibit smoking, drinking and dogs and then you´ll see: these people will still find other to blame for their family nightmare which they call their life. I didn´t do it to them !
28I think all people need these. It's usually the old men and women.
29I know she's a joke to a lot of people right now, but that's a little bit indecent. Why should USA Today be busting her balls like that? And non-celebs DEFINITELY drive drunk..
30that's funnnnnnnnnnnnnny
31I'm cracking up at those who are saying, "So, I drink a beer or three, or a couple of glasses of wine, and all of a sudden I'm dangerous?!" Yes, you dumbass! If a cop pulls you over, you blow for him (that sounds sooooo dirty!
), and you come up as a .06% BAL then he can
still write you a ticket for DUI. DUI means driving under the influence. That could be the influence of alcohol, benadryl, allergy medicine, anything! DWI means driving while intoxicated, and
since the law in most states says that .08% BAL qualifies as intoxicated, that is when they are legally able to write a DWI.
