This morning on The View Elisabeth Hasselbeck went nuts when discussing the 72 hour pill. Check out the clip to see how passionate she is and how Barbara had to try to calm her down.
What they don't show is after the commercial break Elisabeth ends up in Barbara's lap hugging it out, and they're making nice with each other. Barbara said she likes Elisabeth being so passionate but you know Ms Hasselbeck had to play nice since everyone on The View these days seems to be dropping like flies. Besides, no one talking about this clip has yet to address Babs and her new hair do....

1I really love the Barbara Walters handles this. I can't really make out her hair, but she's rocking that red suit. I wish she was my grandma.

4I guess I'm a little biased b/c I agree w/ Elizabeth, but I think that it they're going to bring up such a heavy subject they should expect a debate. Babs handled it well Though.
5I am not going to give my opinion on the issue that they were discussing because that will only then start a HEATED, nasty argument where people will be flailing around at their keyboards. What I will say is this:
61. Barbara handled Elisabeth very well. We are all entitiled to our opinions, but in order to voice your opinion you must be willing to listen to others and their opinions even when they may differ from yours.
2. I think Elisabeth's body language was immature when Barbara was correcting her on the way to hold a discussion. She acted like a little spoiled brat teenager that was just shrugging her shoulders and acting like "whatever, shut up old lady".
I am glad she was put in her place by Barbara and we all need someone with with a little wisdom and a rational head to set us back in the right direction every once in a while.
Rock on B-Dub!! (I love how she made a point to say she doesn't express her opinion...as a good journalist never will) Hasseslbeck is pumped up on too many hormones. She needs to remember her roots as a reality show contestant, and not get all high and mighty telling everyone else to calm down and "listen to ME" when she's the one freaking out! It's good to be passionate in what you believe in, but when it's a subject as touchy as this...I'd just leave it alone; and accept that everyone has their own opinions about it. I'm surprised Joy didn't smack her.

13e h is a little bit whiny and annoying but why does b have to spend so long correcting her etiquette? she treats e.h. like a little kid and implies that only little kids have lefty views about contraception. it just shows how freeking watered-down and sterile daytime television is getting in america - a direct result of the attempt to water down its population into god-fearing imperialists (i love it when a plan comes together).

14yeah they do jen, i only watched ocassionally when i was off and now whenever i see it on i just change the channel.. the view is soo damn overrated
15I'm sorry I just don't like Barbara Walters. When I look at her now- I just think "liar and hypocrite".Maybe one day I'll change my mind but not yet.It was just comical to hear her telling someone how important it was too listen.But Elizabeth looked like a middle schooler by her actions.
16It seems like one of the first times Elisabeth has ever gotten that much of her opinion out. I think she was a little overboard but she was probably just so excited Star wasn't there interrupting her anymore that she couldn't stop. I think though they could have let her finish her thought and then Joy could have made her obligatory joke and then they could have moved on.

22JK - If Elisabeth had a valid point (and I am going to preface this by saying, I am not actually talking about the issue of their debate, but the points she was making), then Joy would not have been so easily able to point out how she had contradicted herself. If you listen again, Elisabeth says that "this pill should be reserved for only special situatons such as rape and incest" but yet when Joy gives her a perfect example of both she says that it shouldn't be used and then says it has to be a special situation. WHAT???? I understand her passion, but if you are going to try to express your opinion about something, make sense, don't contradict yourself and let the other person speak too, espcially when they show you the flaw in your argument. People will respect what you say more when you do that , even though they may not agree with it. Barbara had every right to jump in because Elisabeth was so wound up that she was not getting her point across, nor letting anyone else either.

26Elisabeth was behaving like a child, yelling her point when NO ONE ELSE was yelling. And then her little "Joy was also talking" comment... what is this? First grade? Yes, Elisabeth, Joy was TALKING. You were yelling. And she most certainly did have penty of time to make her point. She made it. She was debated. She got bent out of shape and started yelling and wasn't willing to give Joy the time to get HER point across.

Then she said "it should be used in special situations" and went on and on and Joy nevber got the chance to clarify what in the hell she meant.

33Exactly, jennifer. Be passionate. Show some backbone. But don't confuse loudness with passion and forget your logic. There is always someone smarter or with a different opinion than you.
34padraigin - you are right, all she does is yell over people! i cant say anything about the issue bc i didnt watch the whole show - - but, elizabeth thinks shes right about EVERYTHING - shes like this with EVERYTHING... have you ever watched the show - i cant even watch anymore bc she refuses to listen - EVER - MISS KNOW IT ALL all the time. being passionate about an issue is totally great - but she always discusses things like she's perfect and everyone else is stupid. she refuses to hear any other side. if she is passionate about something she has such a great job bc she can let her opinion be heard but the manner she always does it is so obnoxious. she is so high on herself it's hard to watch her!!!!
35for example once they were discussing how angelina put shiloh in that little shirt for the cover of a magazine - - she was saying how she thinks girls should be dressed like princesses and not shirts like that - which is fine but how she says things is like shes right and angelina is wrong. if you dont do things her way you arent right. i cant listen to her.
i never watch the show but this elisabeth sounds like a self rightoues a$$ .. why does she care about how angie dreses her kids... thats insane

38I use to watch the show, mostly I feel bad for Elizabeth, they are ALWAYS cutting her off and Barbra is always talking down to her. Sometimes she talks over people because other wise they wont let her talk. I dont like Elizabeth on this show, but I think she would do great on another show like with someone like regis or really her own show (which she use to have her own fashion show, that she was good at.) I dont even watch the show anymore, they are just always arguing, and then Barbra will lecture for the next 10 minutes.
39I was at the gym when this was on one of the tv's. I was listening to my ipod but i always look up at the tvs all though, there was no sound. I was WONDERING what the hell was going on. It seemed like Babs was comforting her like a little kid. EH does come across as self-righteous...I wish they would fire her and get someone else.

43i really think elizabeth will end up quitting bc of rosie bc she will be too much of a match for her mouth - but, on the other hand i think rosie handles discussions a lot more professionally
44I dont know I cant help but love both Rosi and Elisabeth. I think they will get along. They are both strong females and I think they will have respect for eachother. But we will see. I wonder how many time rosie will call e a cutie patutie.
