Tom Cruise's celebration of 25 years of making movies rolls on, including this morning's dramatic launch of TomCruise.com after a weekend long countdown that had everyone guessing. There's a message from Tom, a video homage, and a promise of lots more to come! Very cool. Part two of his triumphant return to Oprah and celebration of his career also airs today and this time, it's all about his films. After Friday's show in his peaceful Telluride home focused a lot on his personal life and controversies, this second half is much more about honoring all things Tom and his amazing career. His famous friends like Will, Jada, David, Victoria, and Steven were happy to film some segments for the man of the hour. Here are highlights:
- On making Risky Business: "I was always trying to enjoy every moment that I could because I thought, 'If this is the last film I get to make, then at least I lived that dream.' . . . I had no idea that I'd be here 25 years later doing this."
- Victoria Beckham on Tom: "One of our first dates, we went to the movies to see Jerry Maguire, and I wore glasses . . .It was first time David kissed me, and he completely steamed up my glasses. When we got to know Tom, we told him the story of how it was one of our first dates, and he sent us the jacket that he wore in one of the scenes, and he signed it . . . And David hasn't taken the jacket off since. I make him wear it."
- Will Smith on Tom: "Every man can't just slide in a room nekkid with sunglasses on and pull it off . . . So I knew at that point . . . he's a star . . . I've met very few people who have made that commitment that when they leave this place, they want the world to be better, period, because they were here. And this dude has made that. There's not a single piece of press, there's not been a single interview, there's not been a single image in the 25 years of his career that gets anywhere near capturing who he is. Well, Tom, man, congratulations. We've got nothing but love for you, T.C."
- Steven Spielberg on Tom: "Tom compels the audience to listen to what he says. They listen when he says a line of dialogue or even when he's being silent. He's a magnet for our attention . . . To have [the opportunity to work with Tom twice] really meant a great deal to me, and I love him and his family, and they mean a lot to me."
To read a lot more from Tom's interview, including words from Jamie Foxx, Renee Zellweger, and Tom's wish list of costars and why he loves making movies just read more
- Jada on Tom: "To me, nothing that he's done professionally holds a candle to who he is as a human being. And that's real."
- On making Top Gun: "I don't know why I wasn't offered musicals after that . . . I always wanted to be a pilot. [As a kid,] I used to travel with two pictures when we moved around. I had a picture of a P-51 and a Spitfire. And I used to make models all the time of airplanes."
- Renee Zellweger on the day they filmed "You Complete Me": "I don't know what he was thinking about when he came through that door, but he was a wreck," she said. "He brought something with him that day . . . He was born with some magic about him, and you can't describe it, and you can't dissect what makes Tom Cruise special."
- On making Mission: Impossible: "I really wanted to give the audience a thrill," Tom says. "We spent four days doing that scene, and I was on the mountain with just a thin wire kind of holding me as we were doing it. It was really exciting."
- Jamie Foxx on Tom: "Mr. Cruise was so gracious it changed my life as far as my acting career goes . . . Born on the Fourth of July, to me, was where he is an actor. It was a departure from his movie star,. You saw how wide his acting muscle was and he reached, in that movie, Oscar-worthy, everything-worthy . . . 25 years? Why don't you give me some of those magic beans you taking, man, because you look like you're about 25 yourself!"
- On why he loves making movies: "You know that you never do anything alone and you're all together and you're all going through this experience and you're going away from your families. I feel privileged to be able to do what I do, and I need everyone's help."
- On who else he wants to work with: "There's [Al] Pacino. [Robert] DeNiro. That's really just to name a few. There's so many that I really want to work with, and that I want to work with again."
- Tom on his career: "I just feel really privileged to be able to do what I do, and I thank you all for allowing me to entertain you . . . I feel that this is what I'm supposed to do . . . I love it."
Congratulations to Tom for his 25 years as a movie star! We can't wait to see what he comes up with to entertain us, make us laugh, and keep us on the edge of our seats with next.

awwww! Tom is an awesome actor!!!
1what in the world is on jada's head? is that alive or something?
2love will smith so
and jada wtf
3Jada's haircut is really stank and ghetto looking. I remember chicks styling their hair like that in the late 80's/early 90's. Looks like sh*t.
Tom is NUTS.
And his friends? They all drank the koolaid.
4will is hot
5wtf is up with jada's hair? someone please tell me that's for a movie...
6haha Jada....tom go away.
7
alisha
8Jada's hair looks like crap. I know she's a rocker chick, but um, not a good look at all. And David Beckham, where do I begin...
9i think that with all the grief that tom gets from the press at times, it's great to see that those who really know him are able to stand up for him and have such wonderful things to say. it really does say a lot for the guy - and while everyone else didn't like him for a period of time, i've always rooted for tom. he's been one of my first crushes - and he'll still be that way - even if he is quirky.
i forgot to set my DVR again, but thankfully i think that Oprah is reaired later tonight on some other network. i'll have to check that out!
10i still can't look at tom the same way after the incident on oprah
11i still can't look at tom the same way after the incident on oprah
12Jada was obviously on that stuff when she decided to get that hair cut.
13Jada looks like a stank fool, such a pity that his idiotic gestures while trying to prove that he was a straight man and really Katie I mean Kate and his crazy religion are more talked about than his impressive career. He's so off putting now.
14i dunno, i'm sure that tom's a great guy, behind all that wacky and loony stuff he has going on, but that man just gives me the creeps. everything about him screams "crazy".
15will
wahtever to the rest
16Totally agree with nyaradzom, I watched a couple minutes of the Oprah-visits-Telluride clip, couldn't go any further before I had to toss my cookies. Nothing Tom could do now can change my mind about him being nutso.
17LMAO@mswindang
18aww that was some nice words from his friends an co-workers... i don't think he's as bad of a guy as he's made out to be - he just made a few mistakes (words wise), admits them and apologizes.. seems like a gentleman to me
19I forgive you Tom (for what-the-hell-ever). You can jump on my couch anytime and speak your mind whenever you feel the need to.
20I still don't like him but I think he made the right publicity move doing this interview!
21Did anyone else notice that in the film montage on Tom Cruise's website, Penelope Cruz and Nicole Kidman are missing?
22Will
23wtf did Jada do to her hair ?! not cool .
I just want to punch Tom Cruise in his stupid head.
24first off - what the heck did jada pinkett do to her hair??? seriouse mall '80's mall hair. wow. i watched the oprah on friday with tom and katie and actually i started liking him again. the whole scientology thing is still weird but everyone is entitled to their beliefs...after all that is one of the beautiful things about the united states. everyone needs a break and he certainly gets beat up in the press a lot and he genuinely seems like a good person with the best intentions.
25Toms still weird to me.
Whatever is on Jada's shirt looks like a big wet stain, altho I know its part of the shirt.
Also, I know you all think Will is hot but to me he really has aged in the past couple years, almost to the point that he looks like he might be sick?
I dont know, cant put my finger on it but somethins not right.
26Oh yeah, and David looks like a Doofus in that cardigan tie set up.
27Oprah can make anyone look good....and people will say anything on Oprah's show because they know how it will be perceived. While I admire his friends and co-workers kind words, it's just a bunch of b/s covering what could be geniune feelings but made to be this big thing because it's Oprah. That's why I take very little value in tribute shows like this because it doesn't seem real.
28I don't usually get the Becks hype but I think the little school-boy cardigan is adorable.
29I will say it again and again and again...........I REALLY don't understand what the huge deal is with what he did on the O show. The whole couch thing. A little excessive, yes, but I saw it when it first aired and never really thought twice about it. I can't believe people are STILL talking about that! I don't know what the huge thing is. So he jumped on her couch because he was excited. whoop dee do. I've seen some actors do things FAR FAR crazier than that, that were forgotten the next day. I never did understand what the scandal was.
30I still like tom, always did. He is a great actor. I don't think he is overly hot or anything, but I think he is very talented.
its not just the couch thing, for crying out loud this is tommy girl thrid marriage, so he wnats people to believe that his never been in love before, and that Kate holmes is this AMAZING person (which she might be) but theres no need to jam it down our throats... and the whole psychiatry thing, i bet his taking anti-depressants, explains why he was so calm on Oprah
31Tom wants off the crazy train.
32Its completely believable for someone to be married, multiple times, and not know real love. I have seen it.
I believe Jadas Hair is for "the human contract" filming
33Jada's 'do' is a hot tranny mess
34wow, there are no words for jada's hair. hopefully caterpillargirl is right and it's for a movie...
35Is Jada channeling Chris Siriano? That is so NOT fierce!!!!!
36Not even such kind words from Spielberg can make me think of Tom as any less crazy.
37I read a couple of pages on Oprah's boards. Her fans are actually quite PO'd at her for not calling him out the way she did James Frey. She acted ridiculous on Part I on her interview with him, part II sounds like sheer fluff.
38Oh please - you know Jada is trying to be Posh Spice now...just like Katie...hence, the hairdos - it's so weird! And everyone is trying to make Tom out to be not-so-weird anymore...well, if he has nothing to be ashamed of - then why isn't he being his normal goofy self then? Please, I guess this is all a ploy to try to salvage his depleting career...duh!!
39Jada- NO!
I have never seen her look this awful!!
40eew jada! why? whyyy???
41Congrats to him. I like him and his family.
His official site is released on time with the 25th Anniversary.
42I give it 5 stars: http://www.tomcruise.com
THEY AlL LOOK HOT ESPECIALLY TOM minus Jada. Im still waiting for this interview.
43David looks horrible. I don't know what has happened to his looks but he's went down hill fast. His face looks like an alcoholic's face.
44I cant figure out why the Academy keeps robbing Tom of the award and many actors and actresses that really deserve it. He is so handsome that its hard to believe its been 25 years and he's on his late 40's.
45Thanks for the heads up on his site it looks really classy.I love the message, pics of hot Tom and the music of the site.
All of Tom's movie I have watched and love most of them. He only has a few stinkers but always entertains. But all of this events made me more morbidly curious of his personal life and movies mainly Katie and Suri. I think he's among the nicest and bravest guy in Hollywood. That's a rare find in the business.
46Love Tom.
47It's nice to read that I'm not the only one who still likes Tom Cruise.
48Im so happy when Oprah ask him which actors he wants to work with he mentioned my all time fave DeNiro. Gregory Peck my other love already passed and I know Tom worked with Paul Newman and other amazing actors and directors. DeNiro could now direct him.
Would like to see him opposite Russell Crowe,Christian Bale and Eric Bana who's dying to work with him. I keep thinking Cruise and Pitt when i just remember he worked with Brad Pitt on Interview with a Vampire. This man had me at hello too.
49does anyone know when Oprah will repeat this program? I missed it and other sites show it but my computer is kinda slow.I need to watch it on tv.
