Rachel rocked the fabulous couture gowns in the April issue of Elle, but it's the story on the inside that is even more exciting. We're still sad she had to work on Oscar night, but it's great to hear that our favorite lovebirds are still going strong. Judging from the photo shoot, she loves to dress up, but it's clear that Rachel is more than just a pretty face. She's obviously admiring Ryan's serious film choices, which seems to be rubbing off on her a bit as well. Here are highlights:
- On boyfriend Ryan Gosling: “He never does the same thing twice. He’s very brave. I don’t think he sees the point [in taking a role] unless he can find out what he’s made of every time.”
- On her career (she turned down roles in Mission Impossible 3, Casino Royale, and The Devil Wears Prada): “I’m not going to make movies just to make movies. I have to be passionate about it.”
Those are quite some big films to be turning down! Hopefully this adorable couple's passionate decisions will someday lead to us getting to see them on the big screen together again!

16In her defense, The Hot Chick was her first 'American' film and all the roles she's taken after that have been at least moderately successful and the women she's portrayed have had a purpose. She hasn't had to run around naked screaming because some psycho killer wants to chop her head off.
17I can understand why she would turn down Casino Royale and MI3. Those films are money-makers, but they are kind of no-brainers when it comes to using your acting ability. The Devil Wears Prada was a "cutesy" role. Now, if she turned down a film like Walk the Line or some other film that had a powerful female role, I'd think she was crazy. I like her, and hope to see more of her work.

30yea... she turned down mission impossible 3 and the devil wears prada to do amazing, challenging roles like the ones in... red eye and wedding crashers? right. she really has no career to speak of, so if she's actually turning down these roles, she's an idiot. she should be building some credit in hollywood.
31I think she is a GREAT actress, and I really like her...but I have to agree with justauser. Maybe there were other complicatons involved with why she specifically turned down those roles (schedule, etc.), but if it is about not being "passionate" about those roles, how could she consider Red Eye and Wedding Crashers to be so much better? I dont think she is at a point where she can be that choosy! Don't blow it Rachael! Devil Wears Prada made a ton of money, and being in a movie like that is an investment in your power in the future! The more your fims make, the more you can call the shots. Save your passion projects for 3 years from now.

37I agree, LoneWolf. Maybe it was because of fluffy films like Wedding Crashers and Red Eye that she's made the choice to be more selective about her work. Look at Reese Witherspoon. She was in Legally Blonde, and now she's considered a reputable actress.I doubt Reese will ever film a movie like that again. Rachel has already paid her dues with silly films like Red Eye, and I'm glad she's looking for more meaningful roles.

I love the two of them. Because they're together in real life, i think that it kind of makes everyone else feel like true love is out there.
